I'd really like to see the barrels on gatling guns (such as on the M163) spin as well...the grenade launchers (MM-1 & 6G-30) have rotating chambers, so I'm assuming it's possible to make rotating barrels...

I think the optics view simulates aiming quite well

I agree, it would be nice to see your missile slamming into a tank, especially if you watched it on one of the CRT monitors in your cockpit - see the shocked look of the tank commander moments before he's turned into man soup. I'm sure someone could come up with some sort of script that could allow you to follow the missile to its target - this would show us if it's realistic enough to implement properly.

It turned out to be too heavy (especially with the generator thingy needed to power the motor on the minigun), I think the recoil was a little too powerful and the operator couldn't carry enough ammo to last him more than a few seconds (LOL that scene in Predator - guy must have fired at least 10,000 rounds)

Bah consoles! Give me a good PC anyday...

The US Army designates the 7.62mm Minigun as the M134 The US Air Force calls it the GAU-2B/A The US Navy calls it the GAU-17/A It's all essentially the same weapon, just for Navy, Air Force or Army platforms...it can also be modified to fire 5.56mm ammunition as well, but it's still the M134/GAU-2B/GAU-17 Check this link... http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/equip/m134.htm

New class of weapon? I'm thinking civilian weapons... We could have some civilian crackpots running around with kitchen knives, the bus driver with a 12-Gauge to handle the unrulier passengers, dodgy homemade fertilizer bombs...

I like "Slow Blades" the best - "Walk" is good too... BTW does anyone know any decent .ogg plugins for Winamp, or failing that, any good Ogg Vorbis players?

I can't remember if it was the m113 or BMP but it mentioned that the men inside could add their own firepower to that of the vehicle by shooting out the provided slots. Funny they should give you the background then undermine themselves totally by not including it in the game.<span id='postcolor'> Yep that was the BMP they're talking about...I think though that they're describing it as it is in real life, as they tell you when it was introduced etc. I don't think the manual's description of the vehicles (or at least the BMP) is describing exactly how it's going to be in the game

Spot on Bosun The mission editor in OFP has to be the single greatest feature of any game I've ever played... Come to think of it, it's kept me so interested - trying to make proper missions or blowing stuff up in a totally random manner - that I've never even bothered to venture into online play. Either that or i'm scared that my mighty 56k modem will be too fast to play online

I pinched this question from a Half-Life poll ages ago, but I think it's a goody... What type of music, or specific tracks, get you going before/during OFP? To get the ball rolling, I stick on a bit of Rammstein, Massive Attack, Hans Zimmer, Metallica...

If $500 would buy em, I'd get some flashbangs... Oh the things you could do with flashbangs in a public place....:D

Speed 2?
-
Ah right...I had an idea it might As I said before, it's pretty annoying when mission makers distribute a load of missions that they haven't PBO'd, and you get a whole bunch of seperate files to play with
-
hmmm... the directory should look like this: /OperationFlashpoint/Users/Yourname/Missions If you don't have this, go into OFP and click 'Player' (top left of screen) and create your player. You'll probably need to create the mission folder in the above directory as well... eg. if your mission is called 'TankFight' and is set on Malden, you should create a mission folder called TankFight.Abel (.Eden for Everon, .Cain for Kolgujev or .Intro for Desert Island) Then stick your 'TankFight' mission files in the mission folder - the HTML files, SQM file etc.
-
Any .pbo files go into your /Missions or /MPMissions directories (depending on whether they are Single or Mulitplayer missions). If the missions you have are still in their component form (eg. HTML Briefing, SQM file, EXT file etc.) you have to stick em in /Users/Yourname/Missions or /MPMissions It's kinda irritating when people don't include documentation with files - they should also make them self-extracting, so you don't need to manually stick all mission files in some directory.

This could probably benefit from being moved to Troubleshooting

Humvee's with .50cals / M60s / Mk19s would be absolutely awesome... As for the timeline, I don't think it really matters if an HMMWV Avenger or other post-1985 vehicle was added to OFP. Only the campaign relies on the 1985 era - the single missions can be whatever year the mission maker wants.

Depboed' campaings
DeathShrimp replied to MHSJROTTCADET's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
You can always DePBO the 1985.pbo in your Campaigns directory yourself, using the DePBO (at http://www.ofpeditingcenter.com/) Also, does anyone know where to get a list of all the OGG files in the campaign, and what is said in each one? -
Can you can you edit the appearence/behaviour of the expended bullet cases? Are the animations of the cases flying out part of the weapon model, or is it part of the game engine? I know it's a small feature, but it would be kinda cool to have the right sized cases for different weapons (eg. smaller cases for submachine guns, larger for rifles). It would also be nice to see the cartidges fly out with a little more variety, rather than just fall out the same way.

You bitch about: 1. the game being sux0rz because you can't jump around like a moron 2. getting hit once and dying 3. there not being an AWP 4. the game not being Counter-Strike etc. etc. you know the story
