    Yea, i was under the impression crysis is a FPS shooter, not a realistic milliraty sim like flashpoint. Im expecting the pretty unoriginall things like being able to carry a crazy amount of weapons, run around jumping and firing at the same time, no prone position, and crazy arse monsters and things. Im not saying its a bad thing, and it can be quiet entertaining but it shouldnt be compared with Armed Assault. There both quiet different things. Ones a FPS the others a Sim.

    Woah, cant belive where having this discussion. Do you honesly think bis would not include any kind of effect for choppers blades moving? and theyll jus be static as they fly around? christ im pretty sure BIS havnt forgotten to to add any sort of rotor blur effect or simply have them move around in a circle really fast. People really do nit pick at the littlest things every time i screenys release! Be happy weve got multigunner posistions!

    I think your island is the closest to what i'm talking about...but still thats not it...And what do you want to add or update for the next version? Maybe you can use some unofficial objects...if you want i could make a list with objects styled for your island. And the highways! Thats the main thing ah well, i was gonna add maybe a few more towns and little details ect... to it. But sadly iv sort of stoped all my work for OFP for the time being. Mainly because im college and got a lot of course work to get through etc... But never fear! ill most likely be back for ArmA...hopfully.

    well hopfully Arma will have improved the clipping proplems (i belive its already been said its been eliminated) and the rest of the colation detection proplems we could possibly see some limited walking around in vehicles. Maybe for larger things like ships? possible large aircraft?

    Yea, i have it already, but that's not what i'm talking about...there s no atmosphere of apocalypse, no long highways, where high speed pursuits could be set...btw I think DMA's Toyotas are very suitable for that with its "ride on back" feature... did u try my twighlight island? although the roads aint that long and straight, it has many postapoclyptic shanty like towns and ruins. Although the island is coverd entirly in the same desert texture wasnt sure how to do textures properly.... the islands not completely finished but its certainly fine to play on. I doubt therell be a update any time soon (forgetton how to use wrp edit its been a while, plus no time)

    heh, i was just doing a search on the forums for the old topics about tripods from WOTW.(including a topic i started) some one had a model in game (without textures,scipts,animation, ect..) but didnt seem to get any further then that. Shame seemed to be a lot of support for the idea... Any way, back on topic! yea great stuff mate, keep it up OFP needs more sci-fi stuff

    Yes, Baphomet is right. That´s excactly what I thought, when playing the mod. Another thing, that fits very well to this mod, is the Twilight Island made by D.murphy man heh, never got around to adding the finishing touches to that island didnt think any one still rememerd it! I still got my multiplayer RPG type mission for that island half finished on my HD some where. Any way, hope you all enjoy it!

    Is There Any Drugs Addons

    hey this could turn out to be a pretty fun MP mission! Every one starts in different towns and all with X ammount of money, first they have to buy some of the lighter stuff and go around selling to the local Civ AI. After a while players will gain more profit and move on to buying harder drugs to sell, at which point other players can afford to buy guns and the turf wars begin (completely role played by the players, so some players can form alliences etc.. maybe the lager towns on the island will have more people and encourage conflict between players trying to sell to them?) after a while, as players make more money, they can hire AI thugs that join there squad and can be used to take out fellow players. also players will be able to buy prostitutes that also join there squad. These ladies of the night must be place in certain areas around the map to earn money for the player (some ares worth more then others) and also make a nice target for other players to take out (as in kill, not to dinner) to cripple the players income. Eventually players will be able to buy plots of land and grow there own drugs! (starting with a flat, house, mansion) players must harvest the drugs every X mins and then sell them (making more profit then buying from a dealer and selling on like at the beging of the game) but these drug feilds are also open to be harvest and sold on from enemy players, and must be protected! The winner of the game is the first player to either A) make X amount of money B) if all other players become bankcrupt C) the first player to buy the big drug mansion There will also be ways of stealing money from fellow players, and maybe even some players playing as police. (bribes can be accepted to let some one out of jail ) Now that be a fun MP mission...I could wip somthing like that up my self, but sadly i dont have the time these days

Because in OFP (with wrp edit) it wasnt possible since you could not alter the height so accuratly. Edit:Plus great screens BIS! keep up the good work guys.

    Wow, at least in ArmA theyv improved the citys atmosphere and lay out, that looks like a very dense,packed, and realistic city. Hopfully more intresting to explore (and fight in) then lipany on nogova Edit: Also loving the dynamic shadowing on that helicopter! looks amazing

    i think its safe to say that there are most properly more islands on one 'map' to make up for the 400 sqkm BIS claims in many interveiws. plus just look at the map of that 'one part' of sahrani, the roads are far to wide for it to be a 400 sqkm island! at least thats my opinion. I think that particler island is about, or a tad smaller then everon or malden.

    I wont mind so much as long as a tank going some speed down a hill will not be able to make it all the way threw a forest. But rather hit a few trees and get slowed down dramaticly intill it going slow enough not to hit any more trees down. Also i hope that the turrets movment is survearly limited in thick forests (as i presume whiles moving the gun would get stoped by hittin trees and not hitting them down) thus discouraging tanks to drive around in forests and still make a forest a safe place for infantry to hide. A plus for this feature is now once some one releases the first nuclear bomb addon ( ) we'll be able to flatten just about every thing on the island.

    Creating Missions

    Back when i made missions (dont have the time now) i ALWAYS got bored half way threw and to this day have hundreds of half made missions. Id usually just make a script or be experimenting with fun stuff using scripting, after a while ill have all these seperate experiment missions with all kinds of intresting and fun scripts, then id get an idea on how to use some of them in one mission and throw it all together and make it up as i went along At the moment i have one HUGE dynamic coop mission involving a zombie infested island. Theres randomised music (the theme adapts to events happping like scary music when zombies attack, slow music when nothings happening) and randomised ways to escape which the players have to find them selves (like searching a delivery depot turns up documents about radio parts being transported, you have to find them and go to airport to fix radio etc..) and also players have to search buildings for food which players can eat or trade with a NPC gun shop owner for ammo and guns which the shop owner has a randomised limited supply off. plus guns can be found in houses all across the island which is completely randomised. Even though i got it all the basics and place the mission in its current form is playble i lost complete intrest especially since it was hard for me to organised beta testing with others on MP to test how certain things worked online etc... plus all the time it took to get it all in place sort of made me sick of the mission to bother tweaking it to perfection hopfully ill go back to it one day...

    Linky Amazing stuff! I cant wait till they start growing more things! can see this saving possibly millions of lives! Plus sort of puts my mind a bit more at rest after all thous nights out and having a bit too much to drink any way guys! thoughts?
