Future ToH Benchmark scenario?
DnA replied to OMAC's topic in TAKE ON HELICOPTERS - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
You're welcome :) We'll have a bit more information on the benchmark once we release the final patch. This part was looked at, but we encountered some issues setting it up as we wanted to. We are still considering it for a next patch. -
TKOH Patch 1.03 - Release Candidate
DnA replied to DnA's topic in TAKE ON HELICOPTERS - BETA PATCH TESTING
You should not have to as this RC already includes all of those improvements :) -
I have it mapped to the X52's primary trigger on the joystick (button #1). It's action Fire in All controls. We may list it in the Helicopter controls as well for an upcoming patch.

How to open the door of the medium helicopter!
DnA replied to MatteoRusso's topic in TAKE ON HELICOPTERS - DEMO
Without freelook (Alt) you should be able to point at the door handle and an action will appear. Pressing LMB will activate the action and open the door (if it's not locked). With freelook, you will see all available actions on the helicopter in 3D, so they will be easier to fnid. -

Hi, did you check the manual for a starting point?
-
Can you try Dwarden's procedure, to see if that does work?
-
Are you not flying outside of the Demo area (which has lower resolution terrain and lacks 3D objects)?

There's been a recent improvement to PiP, allowing more options than just enabled / disabled. I don't think this was in Patch 1 yet, so you'll get it in Patch 2. My fairly low-spec system can now run PiP fine on Low. It basically gives you the effect, but at a lower framerate (for the RenderTarget itself).

The required video card specs are mentioned here: http://takeonthegame.com/about-the-game/, and on the back of the DVD box. Unfortunately if a specific vendor fails to mention them on their website, they may be missed :(
-
This is not something we're doing; only overall weather and thus wind (e.g. the S.W.A.T. scenario has a fair bit of wind). Any specific scenario you notice this in? Interestingly there is a suite of script commands which allows you to create localized effects influencing the flight dynamics (Force Generators). We're working on also documenting these.

The sliders on the left actually set the type of curve also. In the middle it's linear (see the pictures above the sliders). You can then multiply the curve linearly using a constant (toggle the Show button first).

You can create a mission for her in the editor and include a female player character :) You will be able to walk around, drive around, and here comes the kicker: maybe even fly in a helicopter. If you can't get in as pilot, it's because of technical reasons! In that case, be a gentleman, and make it a MP scenario in which you pilot her around Seattle ;)

Demo Swat Mission trouble/problems
DnA replied to HazelnutSpread's topic in TAKE ON HELICOPTERS - GENERAL
NumEnter by default :) Auto-hover as it's implemented is meant to be an assistance tool for the game, and not to simulate something available in real helicopters (they can have stability systems, but not like this). Try to slow down on your own before engaging auto-hover. Let it handle the stability, but not the braking. -
Do [ and ] work for example?

Hi everyone! Now the full game has been released, the Pre-Order Beta forum section has expired. We'll leave it readable for reference. We hope you've enjoyed being able to play parts of the game before it was fully released. Unfortunately there was no real time to do iterations before release (or on different platforms), which we plan to do better in future. Thank you all for the feedback! :)

Hi everyone! Now the full game and the demo are out, the Community Preview forum section has expired. We'll leave it readable for reference. We feel this approach has been great for everyone, both for our dedicated community to get a sample of the future, and for us to receive feedback and react to it. Unfortunately we would never be able to tackle all issues, ideas and suggestions you generate, but we've definitely made changes based directly upon your posts. Thank you all for your participation! :)

I've used this set up (admittedly not on 64bit Win7) without issues. In the customize controller menu (with the list of axes), do the axis labels highlight when you move the flight stick? If you toggle the Show button, does it show axes output values changing?
-
The cockpits should have switches to enable these lights. Use freelook (Alt) to look around and find the light icons / tooltips. It may be Free Flight enables them automatically because you start flying. The landing light is actually very useful in the nighttime Time Trials :)

anyone using speedlink black widow and can hepl me?

Some other recommended actions to map to buttons are (but this is mostly personal preference): auto-hover, manual trim set / release, rope interaction and center view :) Landing and hovering are generally expected to be challenging. There are several things to look at to get you going: The lift off and landing training lessons. What difficulty level are you using? The first two have auto-trim enabled by default, which is a fair bit easier and more stable. Auto-hover makes landing and hovering quite easy (while auto-hover is enabled, so is auto-trim). Tuning your joystick axes sensitivity curves can make a huge difference. Some people prefer very high sensitivity, whereas others prefer to make large movements. Question #3: try to run a search on Chernarus in the TKOH forums ;) -
I don't think there's a way to recharge at that point :( If you have a savegame earlier on, you can try to get the engine running and charge back up. Otherwise you'll need to replay the scenario or skip it:

From where did you download the demo? Are you able to verify the file checksum using the hashes at the bottom of http://takeonthegame.com/take-on-helicopters-demo-download/ ? It sounds like one of the files corrupted during the download.

DnA replied to miohn's topic in TAKE ON HELICOPTERS - GENERAL
Let's tackle one issue at a time, starting with your controller :) Can you try to map the Generic Joystick scheme to it? Options > Controllers > Customize > Schemes. This should map acceptable default axes and buttons, but you can also change those mappings however you like. -

http://gamingshogun.com/2011/11/26/take-on-helicopters-review-pc/ The PC Gamer review also means there are now enough Metacritic-approved reviews out to be listed (currently at a 75 / 100 average). The user reviews give a bit of a skewed perspective however
