How to force ai to attack object?
DaCrytter replied to Lupus's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Could be that the soldier doesn't think that the gun is an appropriate weapon to use on the barrel. For example, if you were to replace the barrel with a empty BMP, the soldier would lob grenades, but he wouldn't fire his guns as he knows he has no chance of taking out the BMP with his gun. -

First give your soldier a name, then give the barrel a name. Then make a trigger, and in the activation field put: unitname dofire barrelname Should do the trick! -
I need an empty vehicle....

I think, from now the chopper would know, that this is an enemy truck. put this into the init-field of the soldier: this moveincargo your_truck; this setbehaviour "careless" Your_truck represents the name of your truck.<span id='postcolor'> Better still, combine the two! Place a non-empty truck, and in the init field type: this setfuel 0; this setbehaviour "careless"; Then you'll have a truck with a side that won't move, and the guy in it is no threat. -

DaCrytter replied to Cabbagehead's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
An empty vehicle will always show up as white/neutral, regardless of whether a soldier has just got out of it or not. Try this: put normal (non-empty) trucks on the map, and in the initialisation field for each one type: this setfuel 0; This will remove the trucks fuel, so it won't go anywhere, but with the guy still in it, it will still have a side. The chopper should attack no problem :-) EDIT: Edited, had better idea  -
You can add vehicles weapons to any unit in the game. I have had Sabot rounds coming out of a soldiers chest, mavericks being fired off their shoulders..... However, adding a weapon to a unit doesn't mean it will work. I have added a tanks main gun to an LST when I was trying to make a mission involving a beach landing, and the beach being shelled from the sea. The gun went in ok, but it wouldn't fire. So you may well be able to add a a weapon to the tractor, but you may not be able to actually fire it.

It's not about whether the SA-80 is good or not, some guy simply wants to use the SA-80. And you can do. Simply read my last post, and you can go straight to a place to get one, with bonus British Infantry included!

LOL three of us tell him at once. Think he's gonna get the idea?

Make sure you have a space between the .exe and the -nosplash command. It should look something like this: "~flashpoint.exe -nosplash" If you have it like this: "~flashpoint.exe-nosplash" then you will get the 'invalid filename' message you mentioned.
-
Go here and download MadDogX's British Light Infantry addon. This will give you an SA-80 (among other things) to play with.

I would like them to fix the few bugs with the AI. So that when you are a black op, it's the middle of the night and it's pitch black, and your lying in a bush. None of the soldiers can possibly see you, and the officer is looking in another direction so he can't pick you up with his NV goggles. You pop an enemy soldier at the back of a column in the head with your silenced HKMP5SD. He drops silently. The rest of the soldier in the column haven't seen him go down, couldn't have heard him go down. But all of them instantly know exactly where you are, mount their weapons, hit the deck and pepper you with bullets. And also they need to fix the fact that the AI never loads HEAT rounds in a tank.

Cos most of the the time, if you miss, the BMP/Tank you've just missed is rather ticked off, and starts looking for you, and you probably won't survive long enough to reload. Of course if you have a Carl Gustav or AT4 then you can't reload anyway, so missing is NOT an option. And FYI, they got the reloadable status of the LAW and Carl Gustav in the game wrong. The LAW is a one shot, disposable weapon issued as a round of ammunition. The Carl Gustav is a reloadable recoiless rifle, with several types of round available.

Commodore 64...there was this one game I loved but I can't for the life of me remember it's name... You want old, how about this for yer? I used to have an Acorn Electron. There was a wicked space-invaders style game for it call 'Positron' and the Repton games were cool.

I have never managed to kill myself this way. The bullets do not seem to ricochet at all. The only way I've managed to kill myself by firing a weapon into the ground is if that weapon is a grenade or a LAW.
