    sachel\'s sound mod and 1.4

don't have an actual link, but go back a few pages here in the addons forum and you'll see some threads on Satchel's sound mod with the links in them. I think there is one titled as mirror sites so it shouldn't be too hard. Hope this helps. COLINMAN
  2. If I upgrade to 1.4 will the sound mod still work if I reinstall it, or will the config.(cpp)? file need to be changed to upgrade?. I don't know if I could stand the orginal sounds now that I have the new ones. The first time a tank went roaring past it was unbelievable!! Thanx COLINMAN

Request for a new AI movement Technique

just diviide up half your team and assign them to red or what ever, have them advance, then you move with your team, call them to advance. Thats what I do and it works good. Also when the team gets where I want them to go I tell them to 'scan horizan' It seems to make them see better and get threats before they pop me on the advance. COLINMAN

I want to find a millitary base near an airport to make a rescue mission. Basically one squat secure the airport while another take down the base and rescue hostages COLINMAN
  6. I've been looking all over the net, but I can't find any listing of the vehicles in the game and how many passangers they can carry etc. I'm building a rescue mission and I need to know how many resources to use to pick up the teams, hostages etc. TIA COLINMAN

    How is this possible ???

I finally got it to work. I have an a7v motherboard and soundblaster live! value card. I installed the game and then ran the patch program, but when the first error came on the screen and prompted to do what I chose abort and wrote down every file that was 'corrupt'. I then switched my OFP disk to my second cd drive, the cdrw and copied over any file that was 'corrupt'. Then I patched as normal and everything went fine. Hope this helps COLINMAN

    This hateful lovely M21

(Correct me if I'm wrong) Who wants a full blown suppressor on a Sniper rifle anyway? a flash suppressor would be a great asset for concealment. Â <span id='postcolor'> A flash suppressor doesn't hide the flash from other people, just the guy firing the gun. They are the cone shaped thing on the end of GPMG and such. Basically it stops the flash on the gun from blinding the guy pulling the trigger. The only use of a flash suppressor on a sniper rifle would be if you were using a starlight scope and didn't want the flash to blind you. COLINMAN
  10. I'm trying to patch 1.2 to 1.3 and I have all the bad stuff on my computer, via chipset, soundblaster live, etc. Anyways When I first tried to install the patch it told me that the dta\hwtl\data.pbo was corrupt and the patch didn't work. So I copied over the file from the cd to see if that would fix it. Now when I run the patch program ALL the big files are bad addons, campaigne files, the data.pba, etc. So how come the patch itself causes so much problems? Maybe BIS could release a full patch program, that doesn't do the incremental patching, but writes over everything. I know it would be a huge download, but it would give hope to everyone having problems. This is really frustratiing because this is the only program that does has problems. Everything else I've ever loaded doesn't become corrupt. Why has this reared it's ugly head only in OperationFlashpoint? Also are the people having these problems only on XP? maybe driver support isn't where it is needed yet for this operating system. TIA COLINMAN
  11. My logitech mouseman worked fine in OFP back in the day with windows ME, but I upgraded to xp to get rid off all the general unstablility, but now the mouse wheel is a no go. It works fine in every other game suck as unreal, return to castle wolfenstien, half life, etc, but in OFP the mouse wheel doesn't work. Clicking it registers the 3rd mouse button as usual though. Anyone else with this problem and have they been able to solve it? TIA COLINMAN (Edited by DayGlow at 9:29 am on Dec. 8, 2001)

    Artillery

I've got some details on the mission now. I found it at www.flashpointarena.com In the mission you have the radio (the radio in the map screen) that has a line at the bottom with the map coordinates x:Bc.05 Y:65.15 H:30 Then you can increase or decrease the coordinates by the 0.01 decimal points to zero in. Now if you are playing on veteran you don' t have any magical way knowing excatly where the target is. You have to use the map, your compass and figure out where it is exactly. Now you sent the target to the artillary and you request a single shot marker. Now on the radio you can ajust the target coordinates by stepping N, E, S, or W, request another marker until you've zero'd in the target, then request fire for effect and pound the area. I have no experiance in srcripting for Flashpoint, but this seems to be very tight. Now I don't know how easy it would be to implement into other missions, or the guy who made this had to really tweak the map for it to work, but it seems to be what you all are asking for. COLINMAN

    Artillery

Find the custom mission called 'raining ####'. Your a spotter for arty and you have to call in single shots and adjust through the map with incrimenting coordinates. Nothing beats the feeling when your marker falls right in the middle of the target and calling 'fire for effect' COLINMAN
