I have answered a similar question with about this: Vehicles are EVIL! They kill more people every year than US can ever hope of killing in Afghanistan. The soldiers in OFP all unite to rid the world of all kinds of evil vehicles, they see it as their duty. One can call it a bug also, but Im going for my theory.

Larger? LARGER?! My god, what have you been drinking... Have you even played the game really? The islands are HUGE. No other game comes close to the size. Btw, you cant spend hours over water trying to find land, you would run out of fuel.

*sigh* The LST is purely the for eyecandy, nothing else. Why do you even want to land a plane, when its out of ammo its useless anyway.

Interconnect Islands? The problem with OFP gameplay is that its too big, not too small. Besides, would you like to run the game at 1 FPS??? Everything will be made, just if BIS release the tools.

*.cpp Files for the Kiowa and Bradley wanted...

The Kiowa has a cpp file but the bradley dont, how odd... Lets face it, OFP files are wierd... How about this file CH-47D.backup on 3.3 megs... Inside the CH47.pbo. I wonder what it does... Or if they added 3 meg to 1.2 just so that the patch would look bigger. Or did BIS forget that they had placed an old version of the chopper inside the new? If that is the case, the file is double the neccesary size... -

Why? They are there in your addons directory (assuming you have 1.3). You cant use them anyway on any other version. No point in trying to cheat and get a small download.

"I'm disapointed personally -but ever since I started playing the Ghost Recon demo where I can support 6 people without lag on my DSL" Actually, yesterday I played with 8 other people (some DM at houdan) with no serious lag whatsoever on a DSL host... I was quite amazed myself. There was little lag, but hardly noticable (some trees fell two times, lag of 1 sec). 1.3 is definetly better than previous version, now the only matter comes to expanding that... When one can have 25-30 people on a dedicated server with no (no big at least) lag Im happy. It is as someone said, why create a large scale war simulation with MP when all one can do in MP is to play small scale troop combat simulation...

Slow down? Quite a bit... Notice the front part of the rifles... You will never see that... Either the rifle is pointed away from you, or its lying on the ground where one only need to identify what kind of rifle it is. So all those polys on a rifle is TOTALLY USELESS!!! Much polys on a tank though can never be wrong, but still one should keep them down. Compare the wheels in OFP with the wheels of those tanks... I say excellent renders, but they need to be redone for the game... -

That was not what we meant. You still draw terrain beyond the boundries, and you still have to load the entire map, taking more memory, be prepared to walk out and perhaps seeing that tree 5,000m away. In conclusion, one still have to have the entire map matrix in memory (Im not good at 3d graphics, so this is just my way of saying it) It was the size of the map, not the mission that was referred to.

Yes a small multiplayer map would be perfect. But will it flow better than a big? The map is graphics, smaller map == higher fps. Does smaller map == less lag? What it does mean though is extremely better gameplay. I mean an island 1/20 of everon would be fine. Pure action, no "where are you?" "Im 6000m to the north, will run to make a sneak attack, its only like 5500m!". A devs oppinion would be good, but they seem to have made it their obligation not to respond to any MP suggestions whatsoever... (Edited by Dawdler at 10:33 am on Nov. 11, 2001)

You hit a spot there. The area in OFP is TOO big for solid teamplay. I think that if they restricted the area to that island at malden (or is it everon? The training site in the campaign anyway), and got it flowing for 20-30 troopers it would be alot more fun. When the map editor comes out I think the first think people will do is to make small MP maps (not mission).

Kill himself? I say WE kill him for his insult. First we shoot him in the leg with a Steyer. Then we use a satchel at some range to blow the other leg of. Later we put 10 ak shoots in non lethal spots on his torso. Then we shoot of his ears with a dragunov at 0.1m range. Or better, an M21, they sound more. Last but not least, we simply put a sabot straight through him and spray his remains all over Kolguvev. Preferably Winter Kolgujev so his ghost will freeze to death agian.

I ran into the chopper before they even noticed I was there (they just stood there), took off and flew south. Easy, I went through the mission in 2 mins.

Yep, also have zonealarm, it simply refuses to let OFP through (even after I said it will allow it both as client and server). Shut it off, the easiest thing.
