As you noticed.. the mp5 included in the game.. is too small, without any modern sight, and not well balanced.. so we decided to make a new one from scratch to equip our soldiers :

Here a work in progress of a new SIG Family weapon pack for ARMA . The first sg552 is fully operationnal, with shadow, and iron sight.. Next versions will include grenade launcher, trijicon Acog and Reflex and of course all the others rifles of this great family.. SIG SG550, SG551, SG550 Sniper, ...

As you can see on those pictures.. that's not so stupid The foregrip is used in specific fire position but having it mounted on the gun give it a "Special force" style.. but the debate is interesting And another thing.. i officially joined the Switzerland-mod team so the things are going well and you can hope a release of the weapon pack soon in the hands of true swiss soldiers. But of course the sg55x serie is used worldwide by special forces and other governemental agencies.. so the pack may be also available as stand-alone swiss weapon pack...

For the ingame version i adjusted the foregrip position to avoid this I hope we can change the hand position in future version of the game especially for the grenade-launcher.. Here a shot of the 552 commando ingame :

Yes, thank, this can be very useful to me I've done all the versions by extrapolation from my own military sig 550 so having some goods pictures of a 552 can help me a lot for little particular details because all my others points of reference are coming from photos. And for the EOTech too of course.. it can be interesting to include. I'm currently working on the special commando version of the SG552, with Picatinny rail and fore-end and  I will also create the long barrel version of sg551 with picatinny rail.

The 54x.. certainly not.. because this serie is now obsolete, and never adopted by swiss army but that's true that it became the platform which lead to the sg55x family.

I usually use Milkshape3d for low-poly modelling and UV mapping.. and 3dsmax for specific operations (like boolean).

Yes i remember the Swiss Special Forces mod for ghostrecon and a sad end without time to finish the last version. The GR SSF site is here as a memorial.

Well, the sig sg550 (Fass90/Stgw90 in swiss army) is now ready. Here a screenshot with a 30 rounds mag : Next step.. the grenade launcher 97 and the standard swiss army Kern 6x scope for sg550.

Yes, i can try to do a small tutorial about the cfgmaterial with the use of shaders in arma. But for now some news about the addon The sg552SD Reflex is just finished : And a nice bigger screen of the SG 551 ACOG I hope to release something soon.. but i've some others ideas to test.. Hi, some news I'm making use of the shaders technic revealed by Indy. And i've discovered that it's really the solution to make a correct use of light texture for the muzzle flash and red dot of the reflex. Here a shot :

Thank for your discover about the use of shaders in arma.. but i have a question: the _nohq file is the normalmap file and is easy to generate with nvidia plugin.. but what's the use of the _smdi ? Glossmap ? does anyone knows how to generate a proper one ? thank

For the sounds.. actually i'm using the included G36 ones.. but i will of course find more adapted sounds later. Here a first shot of the sg551 acog version :
