I'll have to screw with it sometime.. Maybe if you just added the velocity of the vehicle to the crew member's velocity, it would have some effect.
-
Pappy, it's not stationary. Just looks like it because the legs are passing eachother.
It's built into the unit.
-
Yeah, there is also a radius for placement on the units. However I was hoping for something a little different.
Thanks.

A whole 2 detectives?
Well, I know of one person that has been shot by his dog. So all dogs should undergo mandatory firearms training.
And for the earlier point: Just because he doesn't know the acronym "ND", doesn't mean he doesn't know what "shooting when you don't wanna" means.

Some generic guerrillas I have been working on.

Is there a script/mission/whatever out there that will make some random missions for you?
It would be nice to be able to go into the game, and play instantly without having to pick a mission you have already played. Perhaps with respawning bad guys.
When you put the units down in the editor yourself, it gets kind of stale. I would really like a tool that simulates the quick-play mode of certain other games. Pick your soldier, weapons, backup, whatever. Then you can play until you get tired of killing enemies, and you don't know how the mission can or will unfold.
-
Nice.
What is the "all missions" tool you are referring to?
-
Yeah, I'm gonna try and emulate the Rogue Spear movement. Crouch will have side to side, backwards, etc. I will also make a faster version where you are hunched over.
I have already done some different walking animations, which are smoother.
The crouch looks a little strange with the gun up, but I wanted you to be able to shoot. I may be able to make an AI version without it.
-
Complete sequence. I don't know how the hand signals are used but it works just like any other movement you would normally do.
-
Maybe if you used a script to constantly setVelocity the people "inside" of the vehicle to the vehicle's velocity.
Never tried it but I don't have anything to try it on, either.
-
This does not use scripting and does not overwrite the anim.pbo.

I spent all day working on it and felt like showwing it off, even though everything won't be ready for some time. By the way, the M14s are 99% done.

Quote[/b] ]3: Ofcourse there is no way of knowing, but with a knife at my throat, and four people standing around me. I doubt they would be glad if I reached for a gun, or a knife. I would rather be certain of surviving at the expense of losing two material items, than having my throat slit and bleeding to death in the cold Stockholm streets after foolishly trying to reach for a firearm. Were they ninjas?
If five guys start walking towards me looking like they are going to rob me I'm not going to just stand there.

He wouldn't shoot anyone because he would be dead.

Ralph, that totally went over your head.

Quote[/b] ]not knowing abbreviation NDSemantics. That doesn't mean he didn't know the underlying concept.
That's like me calling a sniper a poor shot because he doesn't know what BRASS stands for.

Link isn't working, man.
-
Maybe you should be more considerate of other people instead of looking for ways to make yourself invulnerable to them.
-
You dislike guns because you think they give people more power over you.
Would you speak your mind if anyone had the power to ban you from the forums?
-
Pathy, those stats are interesting. But they appear to represent firearms in general and not assault weapons. I checked out some of the other materials on the site.
http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/pub/pdf/wuvc01.pdf
Page 8, table 10
Note that I am not copying the entire table. Just the firearm related part.
Quote[/b] ]Homicides of persons age 12 or older, by weapon type, 1993-2001Firearm - 12,486 - 70.1%
Handgun - 10,058 - 56.4%
Shotgun - 711 - 4.3%
Rifle - 611 - 3.4%
Other Gun - 44 - 0.2%
Unknown - 1,002 - 5.6%
Obviously you have more to fear from handguns than assault weapons.
Here's another one.
http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/pub/pdf/fuo.pdf
Page 6, Table 8
1991 part (pre-ban).
Quote[/b] ]Source of firearms
Purchased - 13.9%
Family or friend - 39.6%
Street/Illegal source - 39.2%
-Theft - 9.9%
-Drug dealer - 20.8%
-Black market - 8.4%
Now lets look at the 1997 part..
1997 (post-ban).
Quote[/b] ]Source of firearms
Purchased - 20.8%
Family or friend - 33.8%
Street/Illegal source - 40.8%
-Theft - 10.5%
-Drug dealer - 22.5%
-Black market - 7.8%
There is very little variation between the two tables, in fact more guns were legally bought after the ban than before it.
If crime decreased it was purely coincidental, as handguns, the prefered weapon of criminals in assaults, were not regulated by the ban at all.
-
Pathy, you do not seem to be reading anyone's responses.
Like Ares said, more eloquently than I could put it, a gun does not give you a feeling of power. It gives you a feeling of respect.
You are also making more assumptions, this time about the behaviour of criminals.
What about all of the civilians that have been killed without drawing weapons? I think those outnumber the deaths of armed civilians.
-
Pathy, you are making a lot of assumptions about the behaviour of a shooter.
-
Legal in another country in that case. Can you be blamed if someone steals your car and thus, makes it illegal? Can the dealership? However I doubt that many revolvers were stolen and would like to find out where they came from.
Full auto weapons are ridiculously expensive here without the tax stamp. Not to mention the local sheriff has to sign for them, just like silencers.
I have a 20 round magazine for my M1A, but not because I need to spray 20 rounds anywhere. Hell I don't even load it with 20 rounds. They are GI and are more reliable than reproduction 10 round magazines. In my case they are also more ergonomic.
-
I don't think there are a lot of spree killers around. I would not say that murders involving one person are because the killer was limited by firepower.
With the firepower advantages of assault weapons come disadvantages which may rule them out for criminals.

Nice, thanks.
