  1. Yeah it must be the drivers/drivercompability with the game.Problem could also have been by an old driver that got wiped out when i formated my c: drive as well. Even though i use a driver sweeper. Hang in there, it's great when you get it to work. :) The release candidate is free and expire in a year from now. But of course it should work with XP as well.
  2. I just want to say that when i went from XP to windows 7 RC 64bit and all my problems are gone! No more corrupt texturebug, framerates are no longer 8 in the big cities but 20-30 when in editor, att high graphics. I still got some flickering textures sometimes, and the sound somethimes get weird but its nothing compared to what problems i had before. Can finally play the game! :D So if you have problems with an ATI card in XP try Win7, worked for me anyway.
  3. I really hope this gets fixed with the next patch. I cannot play anything but Utes right now becouse it contains too few textures to give me problem. When i get the problem though i fps drops which makes it impossible to -flush. If im lucky i can get the menu up and tab out and in. But even with this problem fixed i can not play in big cities. The LOD loading or whatever it is when looking around and zooming in just destroys my computer, and then im over optimal req. Anyway I had this same corruption with Arma1 when i put on high texture details, problem was gone when they were put to normal. But in arma 2 nothing works. Can add that I tryed to roll back to 9.4 drivers but problem is still there. In every thread where this problem is brought up someone gotta come with the expert advice: "Check your temperatures".:icon_slap:
  4. Okay im playing with the 1.02.58134 build. Headspace's samplemission doesn't work for me. (The nonvirtual) I get the radiomessages but no explosions, and when watching them they dont fire. If i get into an MLRS and fire it myself it explodes. If i fire without any artymodule attached it works fine. Mortars seem to be working though. Is this a bug? Have read that some have had similar experiences. For someone who is not an software engineer things like this puts you down for real. (30 min in the editor and reading how to set it up, then finally i get the target map up, I fire and the MLRS explodes.. It's like the game is telling me: "You fail so hard". EDIT: Sorry had a problem with the D30 and the m119 due to a mod. But when fiering the GRAD as with the MLRS I can't change target coordinates and the missiles goes directly north when fired. And thats with no mods.

    Loading saved game error

Ive had the same problem, seems to give the save a bug when activating that arrest woman mission. Hopefully someone has reported it at the bugtracker.

    Patch 1.02 Stability Survey

Im still getting having this exact problem with the latest build. Haven't been able to find anything that fixes it.
  7. I don't think its becouse of that the vram gets full. My vram has never gone down to the bottom when i get the problem. But the error could just eat up all the vram when the strange textures is shown, i dunno.
  8. I have the same problem here as many others. Some people here may not have the exactly same problem but this is what happends. After a while playing around i get the texture failures seen in the screens, when this happends the fps drops to 0-3. If i monitor my cpu load it is almoast constant when this happends, GPU stays the same. It happends quicker in the bigger cities, can almost not play there at all. It seems to do with how much textures that is loaded. Tabbing out or making the game reload the texutres resets the problem but it will happend again after a while. Have tried a lot of stuff, nothing works. Have only played the 1.02 patch of the game. Nothing overheats, and have tried the ATI 1.6 and the 1.7 beta driver. Lowering settings in game to lowest still gives me error but it will take longer. As I said i've tried a lot of stuff but nothing works, were close to format the partition with windows on and reinstall but as it seems that other ppl got the problem ill wait. Im able to provide help if you tell me how, (monitoring software etc) haven't been able to find any error report log yet though. Please fix this problem BI as the game is great and i want to be able to play it. My Specs: HD4870 1GB, A64 X2 5000+, 3GB RAM. WINXP 32bit.

    FPS keeps dropping/freezing

I have the exact same problem. It was playable until i got to chernogorsk (Spelling? The largest town on the map anyway). There it got unplayable, I tried to put down my settings to lowest on 800x600 and i still get freezes in that town in the editor when running around, looking around zooming through my scope fast. When standing still my fps at highest settings stay at 30+. When monotoring it seems like the Cpu load is maxed out, Gpu is at 50%. Nothing overheats. Specs: Athlon 64 X2 5000+ (2,6 Ghz), 3GB RAM, HD4870 1GB. Thats over optimal req.

    Arma 2 - Female Characters?

Of course the guys who rarely socialize with females starts to flame when a girl post. It's the same when playing online. OT: Having female soldiers in the game is realistic whatever the macho guys think of it. The ACE team did a female model for Arma1 that can be seen in this vid:

ArmA II release date discussion thread

Yes! My local gameshop has confirmed the date: 2009-06-19. It's so close now.
  13. I see a dinosaur mod comming... (Remember where u heard it first) Horses as players with mujahedins players riding on them would be nice. Maybe also one or two tapirs. :)
  14. Okay okay, the freefall and all smoke looks great, nice with freelook while you have optics up. But noone asked the most important question: WHAT ABOUT THE MOVING TRAIN!?!?! :banghead: The rest doesn't matter, as long as you have a train/helicopter combination it's a win!
  15. This twitter thing must be the worst way to give out information on. Since that started, this thread started to look like a place full with birds. :rage: Anyway, three new screens maybe?: http://www.shacknews.com/screenshots.x?gallery=12011&game_id=4636&id=135122#img135122
  16. Any guesses on what it will run best on: XP, Vista or Win7? Im think ill keep xp and get Win7 when they release it.
  17. I did and it made no diffrence. I tryed out some diffrent settings though and found that it is the texture detail thats causing my computer to crash. No matter what i put the rest of the settings to, all maxed or all to lowest, i can't put the texture detail higher than to normal. At normal the free memory levels out before i crash, but im not sure if the memory is related. Maybe the memory levels out fine after a while but my CPU or hard drive cannot load textures high textures fast enough. They are not so up to date. Does anyone know what hardware the texture detail is most dependant on? Anyway i can play the game now so i will stop spamming this thread. :)
  18. I did these test while starting up the game, ran the editor, Sahrani map flying one jet. Would have crashed if i had not tabbed out. http://img194.imageshack.us/my.php?image=videomemory.png http://img51.imageshack.us/my.php?image=hardwaremonitoring.png I don't have so many other high end graphic games, but the ones i've tested on my computer usually stabilizes around a value. Also before each crash the fps drops to around 1-2 fps for some secounds with messed up graphics just before the crash. Is it a memory leak in the game? Can anyone else check the video memory when playing? Thx for any help.
  19. Before I had a X1300. Have a Corsair 550 VX. I have a front fan, but the temprature is stable. Cpu never goes over 55 C, GPU never over 60 C. I've used the overdrive function in CCC, so OC:ed the GPU a bit. But it's been stable. But the game crashed just like that before i had even activated the overdrive so it doesnt seem to be related. @kklownboy Using the 1.16 patch. 3GB: 2 512MB and 2 1GB.
  20. Posted in the hardware thread as well but I dont know if this is due to this patch. I bought a HD4870 1 GB. I tryed it out on Arma and everything looks real good. But after playing a while the screen get totally messed up, textures disappering, then a freeze and then my computer restarts. Then i started to search for the problem, took me but then i used ATI tray tools to set up so i could see how much free video memory that was available. When the game starts its up to 1 GB, but as you play, load up the map and get ingame it decreases. That feels normal, when you load textures the free availible memory goes down. But it never goes up again!. When the game starts I got around 700-800MB of free memory, then i fly around alot so the game need to load a lot of textures, but as i fly around it never stabilises, it just drops and when i get to around 400-500MB of free video memory the game and the computer crashes. If i fly it down to about 600MB and then go back to the main menu, there is still only 600MB free. If I load a new map and fly around it starts to go down from there. And the funny part is, that it resets back to 1GB-800MB whenever i Alt+Tab out and in of the game or change resolution. I can play for as long as i want as long as i reset it like this. It's not like this in other games i tried, usually it goes back up again when loading another another map or such. Or in some games when you'r idle. I thought it was my CPU that was clogging up at first, but since I can play as long as i Alt+Tab out and in, it doesnt seem to be the problem. With low graphic settings and maps with not so much vegetation it doesn't make a big impact on the memory. And you need to go around the map a bit so some textures gets loaded. I really would like an answer so i know i don't have a defect GFX card. Also got the latest ATI drivers.

    Hardware and settings for ArmA

Ok so now i bought a HD4870 1 GB. I tryed it out on Arma and everything looks real good. But after playing a while the screen get totally messed up, textures disappering, then a freeze and then my computer restarts. Then i started to search for the problem, took me but then i used ATI tray tools to set up so i could see how much free video memory that was availible. When the game starts its up to 1 GB, but as you play, load up the map and get ingame it decreases. That feels normal, when you load textures the free availible memory goes down. And the funny part is, that it resets back to 1GB-800MB whenever i Alt+Tab out and in of the game. I can play for as long as i want as long as i reset it like this. It's not like this in other games i tried, usually it goes back up again when loading another another map or such. Or when you'r not making the game load anything. I thought it was my CPU that was clogging up at first, but since I can play as long as i Alt+Tab out and in, it doesnt seem to be the problem. Can someone please tell me what the problem is, is it the GFX card, the game, or the driver? I don't want it to be like this in Arma2 as well. Im using the Arma 1.16 patch.

Omg, does people still belive that Arma2 won't be out for xbox? If BI decided not to do it for xbox, im sure they would let everyone know with a statement. Also, this thread here should be proof enough.
