The Warhammer 40k mod had flamers and meltaguns, so I imagine it's possible in ArmA. -
There *is* a smoking animation in ArmA, but their hands are empty and they just mime it. If I remember right, it does have "smoking" somewhere in the animation name. I like the random stuff they do too, wish there would be more of it in vehicles, and maybe some random chatting in "safe" mode. That would be pretty neat, I think.

This is the most important aspect of any military endeavor. The smoke break area is always the first to be built and the only area constantly occupied.

I'm pretty sure that in OFP a man "dead" wasn't always "killed"; he was sometimes just "down". The after action reports at the end of the missions seemed to confirm this since the number reported KIA would often appear to be fewer than the number of bodies lying around. Getting a bullet through the leg ( ! ) would pretty much incapacitate someone (unless he's John Wayne). I presume it's the same now in ArmA. Anyway, that's how I [still] see it. The cas' figures on both sides in these ArmA engagments are often [unrealistically] enormous since the AI manoeuvre recklessly, they are all stone cold killers and all fights seem to be usque ad mortem! Yeah, I always figure something like 1 out of 4 or 5 casualties are KIA and the rest simple WIAs that just get medivaced from the theater or something.

I've seen it happen quite a few times, actually. In one case, I was a gunner and my pilot was killed at an altitude of maybe 100m. The helicopter crashed without incident, I survived and dismounted then escaped.

They probably bought them off e-bay! Â Is "air assault wings" the one with the helicopter? Yeah, the air assault badge is the bottom one in my signature, they wear it on their left shoulder. It denotes graduation from the course and is combined infantry-aviation warfare. Different from the concept of "Air Mobile," where air mobile was transportation, air assault also adds attack capabilities to the air element. It's a fairly easy course, just don't fail the obstacle course or the written test and you should be fine. Ha! Hard to believe Audie Murphy was denied from the paratroopers for being "too small." Dunno if it's an easter egg or not, but the civilian car's license plates have arabic above the license number.

To place damaged/destroyed vehicles on the map so they show the burned out texture, and or, don't explode causing damage to the units around them?

Alright, thanks. I know about the destroyed vehicles, but there are only so many times that the same destroyed bmp will work, and there aren't even any jeeps in the game, so a destroyed jeep placed in a sequential mission wouldn't even make any sense. I know, but like I said in my first post, I don't want the vehicle to explode and kill everyone around it, fasad answered the question for me. -

A good us army class A uniform with jump boots would make me salivate. Or I could just end up making it, and use that as a good way to learn modelling. -

The SLA pilots also wear US Army Air Assault wings on their shoulder. The RAC Captain Riboli wears the crest of the US Army Special Forces on his chest.

That's ridiculous. There are tons of threads that bash the game while remaining open. The moderators just want one such thread for the sake of tidyness. What's the sense in having multiple "OMFG BIS I H8 U 4 KNOT M8KNG EVRY SOLDER SUPR INTLIGINT" threads? Least now all the asinine "lolz kno VTOLz ur stupit" threads are gone.

Working with the NVGs is pretty difficult. LIght sources darken your vision rather than flare it. Pretty strange.
