    ARMA AI

I second this (pun intended). I always wanted just two enhancements to the AI; 1. The AI guys would know how to take cover 2. They could be "suppressed" by fire

    IR and Night vision sights

Many tried "modding" this for Op. Flashpoint (including myself) but all failed. I am wondering if it'll be possible with Armed Assault (but I'm not all that hopeful).

505's ArmA Special Edition - What ya want?

Retain all the other items in the current "special edition" by all means but at the very least add a proper topographic map of the island (the current "map" is really just a poster), perhaps even with a cheap "Arma branded" military protractor. Also nice would be the option to order it in a container that one can put on a bookshelf - not in a cruddy old surplus ammo can.

    LAW launchers

In Op. Flashpoint the 66m "LAW" rockets can only be fired from a kneeling position. Does that limitation remain in "Armed Assault"? Can they now be fired from standing or prone positions?

    Armed Assault videos

Wow! Is the enemy AI so advanced that they even "frag" their officers!?

    Motion Sickness ?

Does the "Special Edition" include an Armed Assault sick bag?

Tracer & bullef deflection modding fun

Sorry to drift off-topic, but I like the "darkness" of the night in that video. The nights in Op. Flashpoint were usually never very "dark".

    LAW launchers

Oh well, I suppose at least being able to move with one is an improvement.

    IR and Night vision sights

Well, IR/thermal imaging I would at least contend is an important feature in trying to model a modern battlefield (especially with regard to tank gunnery). And the experience of using a weapon mounted Image intensifier is completely different from using goggles, so there's no "redundancy" there. Oh dear, I hope I'm not going to have the same frustrating experience trying to make a Starlight 'scope addon again!

To the people who are playing ArmA, how is it?

"Hiding in grass" [or at least "in the open"] isn't so unusual, so it's a great shame that the grass in "Armed Assault" doesn't really support it. I'd tried some of the grass addons with "Operation Flashpoint" and was looking forward to a professional implementation of it. Soldiers are taught (or at least we were when I was one, 20 years ago) to avoid "obvious cover" like [isolated] trees and bushes. Just for interest, here's a pic from one of my old training pamphlets: If the grass had been implemented in a realistic way it might even have mitigated some of the worst iniquities of the AI's simplistic "take cover" behaviour. Let's hope it gets fixed soon.
