Mission after Crossroads in Resistance campaign. Using a shitty ass RPG, I fired a snapshot at that Mi17 and knocked it down to Chinatown. Damn, was I surprised. I've done some fairly awesome things with tank sabots too...

Hey all, the update is finished and sitting on my desktop. Once uni is over for today I'll bring it on over. The files are still in .ogg for now... I must warn you, with .wss conversion there'll be quite a delay, and the file will be rather big (I'm talking approaching 50mb with compression here). So I'll release it in .ogg, and we'll wait and see how it goes. Thanks for the support, all. -
After some fun running around your new Malden, some suggestions: - Remove the shoddy old CWC military buildings from the Airport - add some Barracken. - Perhaps make the ole Malden Island base (west side) off limits to civilians, and just make ONE HUGE military base there (battalion size or thereabouts?). Remove all other military bases except for the airport one. - I had to download 15 PC addons for this island, and though his work is good - I didn't see them once. I'd remove the unique objects to decrease download time and make the download more attractive to users. - The Nogova texture used on the North of the island doesn't blend in at all (especially seeing as it is adjacent to the desert!!!. - Make the island more zone-y. There seems to be too many factories at EVERY town. Make an industrial zone around a port or two and leave it at that. There should also be purely residential areas for suburbian brawlin'. - Attempt to make your factories and the like smaller, and more condensed. There seems to be a lot of wide open spaces. Also, make your factory road networks a bit more useful (pass them under cranes and whatnot). A good lil island - I hope you keep improving it!

Mate, it's currently camping on my desktop. RL committments have had me on the compy a lot, but sadly, not a lot of gaming. I'll get there, though, brother.

Ah, Shlash, that was a very strange... I dunno what the hell that was. But yeah, what would you prefer to see in that camo scheme? And my girlfriend is Belgian of origin - a Van Opdenbosch - sure as hell not Russian!

I tried to stop them, mate, really I did... Â Hell, I'm loving the new tank textures though - I only ever use FFUR to play BIS missions - but the models + extras are excellent in my ECP-borrowing-extraaddon modthing.

Does this happen with EVERY island, or just a couple? Or maybe only on islands with train addons, perhaps...?

DLEM is still working on them, I've been speaking to him. Be aware that he doesn't speak English. The reason he shut it in the first place is that people post in fairly complex English, and he simply copies it into a translator, which totally garbles all meaning. Same with his responses, he just types in Russian and it comes out as English (really, really bad English - due to the asymmetric nature of the two languages). Thus, it's hard for him to understand what you're getting at - and that's why he got irritated when everyone kept saying different things about the legs (not that everyone was - just the translator was). I've been PM'ing him in Russian, and he still hopes to release them. Btw, what is so bad about that ACU camo in any case? I think it's awesomely realistic. What would you guys change?

You're obviously missing a texture pack. See post #1 and perhaps try again?

Hmmm, true, Namhsahs - problem is that during cutscenes, riflemen will do it too - just watch the end of Red Hammer and you'll see what I mean. The Spetsnaz won't fire a shot from their AKs, they'll all get their APS' out and die when the rifle-armed Resistance whack them! (All except Dmitri, of course, though I have seen him die once). Funny and annoying to watch. -
I agree with Kyle - bit of an oxymoron, doncha think? Can't wait, guys!

Ah come on - is ONE large military base going to hurt on an island that size? I advise that you keep the standard BIS trees, mate. Anyone who wants to replace them simply has to download the WGL replacement pack to get BIS Resistance foliage - but anyone with a very slow computer will not like it one bit.

Well, after looking through that bloody Alfa game - what a hunk of non-OFP not-so-goodness, I've added quite a few new Russian sounds - problem is, only a few to idle, because not many in the game are suitable (most are on radio). The Russians now do a lot of whispering when in aware and detect modes, and hopefully a lot of shouting in combat! (And a lot of saying: I'm tired in idle). -
I agree with Gnat's opinion of rivers there - especially when the bank is lined with bushes for SpecOps/Spetsnaz to hide in!

Oh, and don't forget shadows! Â Edit: I'm fairly sure only Marines use olive drab - I think you should concentrate on tan and ACU.

Sounds good mate - what do you mean by ACU with OD? I'll definitely be borrowing your ACU with ACU!!! Looking good! Are you still OK with making a garrison unit (no body armour, etc)?

New textures looking better, mate. I think you should keep it that way - it doesn't look too bad in desert, and the camo itself is meant to be somewhat effective in both, which yours does. Hope your hand modelling goes well - perhaps you could use OWP's hands - they're excellent. One last thing: how many different soldier models are you planning on making?
