Operation FacePlant US Infantry v1.00
CameronMcDonald replied to CameronMcDonald's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Yeah, I'll look into the pockets, I don't think the angle is too great though. @Shadow_NX => part of that problem is that my scripts have handlers to stop them being run more than once (and thus eating CPU power). I'll have a squiz into it, but is it that much of a problem? The AI will get their NVGoggles back within a minute or two (thanks to the daylight checking script), and the player can always reset his/her NODs too. -
Not true. The method I have used simply removes the NVGs of the player only, in my example - the heads are retained. In my example I am talking about selections which can be made hidden or added at will, and these cannot be removed via the cfgmodels technique. I now understand this is a different situation, however. I know what your problem is:- Make sure, triplecheck that ALL your models (p3Ds) are in the sectionsInherit=Head; section. If they are not, you will always see the mouth, eyes and headgear of the units.

Player kills too many of his own side, joins the "dark" side.

Best Cold War Crisis downloads?

I was once like you, stuck with ole v1.46... I made missions, and thought there could be no more to OFP. At those days I used to cruise over to OFP.info and atwar.net to see the latest addons. Once I got there, I used to jump for joy at seeing something awesome released, and then get pissed off seeing "v1.91 only" stuck on them. If you don't have Resistance, you'll probably live to regret it - I know I would have, had I not searched Australia for the last living copy. -
Nice pics, Wilco. Don't forget to list ye ole addons next time, lest Placebo skewer you on some bamboo.

<Whew!> Thanks man - I sent them three emails already, and that was a week back! -
WarGames League v.5 (WGL 5) Full Release
CameronMcDonald replied to .kju's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Heck, WGL in AA will far outstrip the OFP version, hopefully. Since the BIS models are already fairly high-spec in AA, it's WGL will look (and run) a ton better, with the WGL team being able to concentrate solely upon scripting and tweaking, rather than (it's limited, I know) unit replacements. -
The 74M is meant to be standard Russian infantryman's weapon. The AN94, despite it's ridiculous capabilities (2-round burst in a couple of milliseconds, anyone?) is still beyond the reach of all Russian units, bar the elite. However, it is certainly likely that garrison and rear-echelon units would still be lugging the normal 74, AKMs and even 47 around, especially the first option. The 74M is the "optimised" version of the 74, designed for production (and naturally, better concealment with its nice, black design).

Fixing your problem with driving vehicles is easy as. All you need to do is make a script to remove the textures which block the view when the player is in a vehicle, and a second script to readd the textures when leaving the vehicle. For an example, see my FP US Infantry (see my sig). The scripts I have written there are absolutely foolproof. They function by removing the animated NVG textures from the player when they are inside a vehicle, and readd them (in the correct configuration, I might add) when they leave. It's not at all hard to do.

Without meaning to be too much of a spoilsport and/or anal-retentive idiot, that Hind really needs exhaust outlet covers, if it is to make a realistic impact in this mod. From what I see, most modern-day Hinds have them fitted to reduce the susceptibility to SAMs (cough Stingers cough).

Read my mind.

Nice job Kyle - I've always been a fan of your grenades.

<sigh> The FINAL version of the patch is currently being beta tested.

Glad you like the picture!
-
Plus who cares? The better the game, the more the community wants it, BIS can take all the time they want, IMHO (well, at least until Q2 07).
-
I say shmah to those who'd take Crysis over AA. At least BIS can spell correctly, and it's not like forumers like me would want their kind around here anyway.

OFP is the only reason I upgrade my computer. It's now ridiculously overpowered, overclocked and overdusted. Things OFP has made me even more of a genius in: HTML writing. OFP-related C++, texturing and modelling. Military tactics. Military knowledge. Word processing. Firearm parabola calculations. Things OFP has made me less of a genius in: - 'Nuff said. Woe be to the hardware thread when I get my 4GB RAM and 7900GTX running...
-
Mine is fairly obvious.

That should run sweetly, William. Heheheh... an update is in the works on my little OFP monster... not that it needs one!

Free to use textures I've created
CameronMcDonald replied to Wilco's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Agreed - it's ridiculously hard to make ACU textures for OFP that will look even remotely milspec, because the game munts them out of all proportions. That is, whatever, what real ACU looks like, though if you were to port this into OFP unchanged, it would like exceedingly white and blue. -
I must say I'm very tempted to convert these to Llauma architecture...

Operation FacePlant US Infantry v1.00

Thanks Mark. An update is in the pipes, however, I haven't been able to do any work due to someone's PSU smelling eerily of burnt rubber. Hurry up OFP.info! -
