    OFP videography

That music combined with the destruction makes that 2006 video strangely relaxing, deanosbeano. Love it. EDIT - What a reh-tard.

Shashman - those were my ACU textures, Joe just borrowed them, but I'll let your faux pas slide. And the US Army uses ACU, not BDU. Why it's in there still I have no idea, but it's not my mod so I'll shut up about it.

    Armed Assault fiction competition

Less arguing, more writing. Actually, you may as well give up, since my story is finished, all 1999 words of it (no joke!.

PC Discussion Thread - All PC related in here.

Personally I recommend a bigger wattage PSU, but that's up to you. I overclock everything I can, and my ole 430W PSU went up in smoke because of it. However, now I use a nice ole 750W TTake one, which works a charm. Moral: Overclocker? PSU = Big. You said you were going to upgrade your GFX card, so that's OK. If I bought anything like that now, I'd kill myself out of frustration. RAM's good. HD's good. CPU's passable (only cause mine is ~1GHz faster). Mobo is good, any ASUS mobo will not let you down, from my experience. I'm gonna pick up their newest SLI-capable offering when I get the money, and attempt ArmA with quad SLI. <Watches 2000 imaginary AUD fly out of wallet and sighs with pleasure> DVD drive is good, same as mine, would you believe! Â Case is good, I imagine, cause I haven't seen it. Dunno about the TV card, no personal experience to offer. EDIT: 1300th post! Yay!

    Performance

"Recommended" specs are usually BARELY enough to have the game running at a good (not just playable, good) FPS. So I'd think that for vanilla ArmA you'd be fine, but you'd want to think about some more graphics power before modding it up.

    ArmAs Cover Art

I've always been a killer for black covers too - nice one, Llau.

    Evasive Moves?

If so, I bloody well hope the unit falls like a brick, and takes a bit to get back up again, lest we have the beginning of dolphin-diving in AA.

Just trying to read that boggles the mind.

<Screams!> THE FLESH! THE FLESH! OK, one a more serious note, you will need to translate that a bit better. My advice: http://www.translation.paralink.com/

    Latest screenshots available

True. Though the first thing I'll be doing to my version of AA is changing that, as I'd imagine most US units overseas would have completed their full ACU conversion.

Blast the textures, they look fine. My advice - the helmet now looks like crap. No offense to CodeBlue, of course, but I'd advise you ditch their helmet and retain HYK's. I'm sure the fans' computers will be able to handle it. At the moment the helmet looks... square and stretched.

    FlashNews Armour Hit Competition.

Just a thought to throw in there: Remember the RPG7 is a notoriously inaccurate weapon in real life - it is ridiculously affected by the wind, thus the more open air you will have to fire across, the shoddier your aim will be.

Damn straight, get rid of that sight. Ironsights all the way.

    Evasive Moves?

Wait... check the screenshot. What about "fast foward" and "slow forward?" I don't think "Evasive forward" would be running, especially if 2 x W is the key combo needed for it.

Yeah, same - atm all the tanks/choppers have been operated by riflemen.

Grab us a copy while you're there, eh? I'll pay in good Aussie dollars.

Am I missing out? Still running ver. 1.0

Man, I felt sorry for myself after not buying Resistance for 1 year after its release. You poor fellah.

    Nup.

    Evasive Moves?

Maybe just some kind of ungraceful dive then. Who cares about grace as long as it gets you into cover? I'm intrigued by this, it sounds good.

The webbing is OK, but the gear is way too old school. I get the feeling you took those from a 1985 model, so unless those are 1985 units, that's a no go, I'm afraid. I'm sure olemissrebel will have something to say about that. Â

    ArmA Progress Updates

Hahahaha - welcome to the forums! The OPFOR side is NOT, I repeat, not Russia. They are the Communist North Sahranis, and like most communist states they use Soviet Bloc weapons, older, Soviet Bloc weapons, like the good ole crappy-for-concealment AK74. Sure, modern Russian forces use the funky new matt black 74M, but North Sahrani is behind in the times.

Oh yeah. Putin looked like he just swallowed something potentially fatal. I'd advise moving his chin down a bit.

    Mini Lunchman

To tell the truth, I had no idea. I thought it was some concoction BIS had pulled out of their early fantasy-game days. Or they were dodging copyright laws or something.

    ArmA Progress Updates

Yeah, I'm an eighth German - what about me? I think what we need is for the original plaintiff about kinetic energy to elaborate. There's a whole ton of stuff he could have meant, collisions, knocking stuff over, ballistics, etc. Kinetic energy is pretty damn broad.
