Yeah, mine were fully good. I'm disappointed they didn't make the tie break, I was way off! -
I'm with you - I dislike exposing my gaming computer to the ravages of the internet. Hence I use the other, lesser machine to cop the full brunt of the worldwide web and keep my monster for LAN only, usually with a family member who's keep on OFP, and should be keen on ArmedA when it comes out. I agree though, LANners must be a very small proportion.

OK, here are the games I disagree with. Return of Arcade 2.0 Anniversary Edition => W T F Ultimate Mahjong (Jewel Case SKU) => same as above. Scrabble (Jewel Case SKU) => what is the go with boardgames? Who buys this shite, when the real thing is far more enjoyable? Survivor: The Interactive Game => OK, I usually laugh at this kind of crap. But beating OFP? Drop! (Jewel Case SKU) => No. No, no no. Scooby Doo: Phantom of the Knight => How in the hell? Game of Life => these things should never reach a hard drive. Unless you're a certified gimp. Mall Tycoon => What a load of steaming... SpongeBob SquarePants: Operation Krabby Patty => OK, I understand that kid's games can be good too. But not better than Max Payne, FFS! Barbie Pet Rescue => You have got to be on crack. Backyard Basketball => Bite me. No wonder kids are getting fat, when crocks of rubbish like this find their way onto PCs. Go outside and PLAY. Who Wants To Be a Millionaire 2nd Edition => With all the graphics of two chairs and a marble floor, and the numbing fun of virtual Trivial Pursuit, this game is definitely gold. My ass. Moral? WHERE IS STARCRAFT? /spleen venting.

My vote is yes. 200MHz isn't really that much. And a larger cache size is one of the reasons that the Core Duo whoops ass all over the P4, so yeah, you've been ripped. Twice the cache vs. 200MHz? Cache all the way, mate. Commence making a stink, IMHO. In other news... My Pimp-My-OFP/ArmedA-Compy project took a turn for the better yesterday with the installation of a brand spanking new ASUS Silent Square Pro CPU cooler, greased with Arctic Silver 5. Core CPU temperatures have not yet reached above 38 degrees, even with a constant overclock of 15% and heavy load (NFS: MW, RON: ROL, OFP: ECP/FP tested), where it used to spike as high as 69 degrees. So if anyone is looking for a new cooler, without resorting to a liquid system, I'd say take this one. I was utterly stunned. On the bad side, it's absolutely massive, and can be a pain to install if you don't have a backboard already mounted on your mobo. Still, if you wanna run cool... <hums Heavy Fuel> -
Didn't we have some rule here about noob bashing? Â Â At least I tried to be mild. Nah, Tioner's right though, you'll have to show us something a bit more impressive than that to impress the ladies... or is it lady? There's only one here I know about (hello Neph! ). Anyway, Â

I think the T72 looks phat. Hahaha - nice one, 'Spec. I also commend the pwnage - manners wouldn't go astray, thrush.

Erm. Some nice transitions, try to get rid of the GUI next time. I'd work on fire discipline and movements out of cover, if I were your team. A lot of the time you were standing in the middle of a street/field, not doing too much in particular. You love that G36 too, don't ya?
-
Can't believe they missed out StarCraft. Wankers.
-
True. I'd like to see: Better disembarking anims (especially for helicopters). Better reloading anim (a la olemissrebel's suggestion - if they can have the soldier reaching for his webbing in the hand grenade anim, surely they can do it for a magazine). Pick-up anim (rather than the "Force-like" situation now where the weapon magically appears in the soldier's hands). Better sprint anim (less ganglo style, maybe leaning forward a bit more). Better crawling anim (the one at the moment looks like something the Energizer bunny would be doing). Better crouched-advancing anim (you would need really, really, really, really, really strong thighs to keep that up for more than 30 seconds. In the battlefield? Nuh-uh.). - Note. Someone should stick in the FAQ that Placebo said yesterday that the latest build of ArmedAssault has the trigger finger moving when firing.
-
Thanks anyway, mate. I just studied the back of the helmet more, turns out it's a MICH with a very prominent rim (to my eye). I'll write that one down - thanks again!

Tell us the truth about OFP2
CameronMcDonald replied to furious's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Hey mate, welcome to the forums. BIS isn't really wont to throw information to the dogs, as far as I've seen in the last 5 years. Have you tried PM'ing Placebo? Or emailing BIS? You'll get a more definite answer then, well, at least you will if you take the second option. Then you can bring the info back to us. I understand what it's like to be hooked on the release of a game, though, fully with you there. It crapped me off when Armed Assault was put back 2 bloody years. Though I appreciate that they oughta take their time so we get the best end result. I get the impression that BIS has put the date back so many times without an explanation because people haven't asked for one. I don't remember a public uproar when Game2 was last set back again - you may be the first, if so, congrats. See how you go on a PM to Placebo. I've never tried a serious PM to him myself, but I've heard it gets results. -
Ain't that a great way to end an argument - now everyone's happy (unless there was someone who didn't want the finger moving?). Kudos, Placebo. Â As for what I've done for the community, how about my ECP DSAI extension? And helpful comments in the TroubleShooting and PC threads. Hope it suffices.

That and your police pack, marvellous things those. I read Shin's post too, thought it quite good (except "clammer" isn't a word, try "clamour" next time, unless you're referring to any of various usually burrowing marine and freshwater bivalve mollusks of the class Pelecypoda, including members of the genera Venus and Mya, many of which are edible). I have no idea how you guys sit down and type so much into this thing, I have trouble going after 5 lines, and I still have no idea how to quote someone. Sad, ain't it. Yeah, sometimes I wish they'd never opened an Armed Assault forum on the official site. Would save a heck of a lot of noob-bashing and re-re-re-repeating information posters here. But here we are, I suppose. And I also agree that it's not likely that BIS give half of one cent about what goes on here, at least verbally, anyway. Stendac - the little branching cloudlets are meant to represent burning chunks of debris flying out of the explosion, yeah? I know I've seen McSplosions like that in the movies, not so sure about real life, though. Think ECP style.
-
Damn well hope so. Elite had right/left hand selection, yeah? Just wondering, cause I'm a southpaw myself.
-
As above. Anything Warsaw Pactish would fit in nicely. AKs, Skorpions, TTs, RPDs, RPKs, blah blah blah, hell, throw in some pah-pah-shahs if you want to make them seem hella old.
-
Probably not, since BIS aren't as anal retentive as Microsoft (anyone tried to play Rise of Legends with a crappy system? Won't even let you start!. But it will run like a duck with its beak nailed to the floor.
-
Because shut up, that's why! Nah, I'd hazard a guess at that BIS couldn't be bothered, or that the good ole engine they're using would need new class definition for hands. But it's not up to me, though I would like to see it, I get the impression that the player's trigger finger moves in vanilla OFP when the weapon recoils. Enough for me.

Yeah, have a go, just don't push it too far until you're sure it's ok. And keep the case open too, though I'm sure you already know that. The number of times I've hit the switch and discovered a cable lying dangerously close to the CPU heatsink fan... I tell you. -
WTF is up with your desktop, meanwhile?
-
Heh, and I remember some people whinging about the lack of animated fingers to pull the trigger with.
-
Methinks Colossus's little spate of quotes there ends things nicely. Choice comes down to publisher. No worldwide publisher = regional publishers instead = no StarForce (whew) unless chosen by a regional publisher, which may or may not be unlikely.
-
We could always shoot trees down in OFP.
-
Assume so, I guess. I tell you, if that CD-drive-maiming shite hurts my precious Samsung, I'm going to scream.
-
He'd have his cheek on the cover button, for sure, if he was aiming from a static position. However, if CQB'ing, I'd say that sight pic isn't too bad - it's a heck easier to hold the rifle out a bit in front of oneself when walking with weapons up. Try it.

I vote get rid of that card now, and step on it a few times to ensure noone else suffers your misfortune. Buy a nice, high-end NVidia card when you get the money and whack a bit of Arctic Ice and a Zalman cooler on it. It'll be below zero in your PC before you know it. Should get my new Silent Square Pro CPU cooler this week... from what I read, it gives comparable cooling specs to water-based systems...
