    Sounds like an issue with the initspeed of the bullets in question. I'll have to fix this, I suppose, I've already fixed the rate of fire problems in my version, so this shouldn't take too long.

    I don't think the muzzle flash thingy is related to this mod, cause I'm running vanilla (Czech) AA and I get it on the M1A1. Only very rarely, however.

    Tracers

    I find the AI aren't as afraid to whip the lead out in Armed Assault as they were in OFP, so it sounds your dream may come true. And, like I mentioned overpage, removal of tracers from the assault rifles has made the game better, IMHO and obviously more realistic, while you can see the Mgunners cranking at you, occasional potshots from a concealed rifleman will keep you looking around as little puffs of dust kick up all around you. It's great fun.

    I'll give you a hint, nothing to do with the camera scripts, but it works. Grab an ACOG, go to optics, then go directly to command view. This bug works wonders if you want to take pics of your face.

    I disabled tracers on weapons usually not equipped with them via the weapons config file. Looks much better now, though Dys is right, laser beams do not = tracers.

    That's it. The Armines in Armed Assault so far simply have the misfortune of wearing Marine Corps helmet and headsets. .. and missing a couple other crucial items like correct camelbaks, kneepads, mandarin collars, etc, but let's not go there. Other than that they're almost perfectly Army grunts.

    Civilian changing sides?

    milobr - bob's method is the universally correct method used by most mission makers to turn civilians into BLUFOR or OPFOR. It should work - it's worked for me countless times, so try again. Group your civilian, using the editor, with a BLUFOR or OPFOR soldier (depending upon taste) and whack this unit's probability of presence to 0%. And make sure this unit has a higher rank than your civilian, to avoid embarrassment. It doesn't matter that he won't exist - the civilian will still be grouped on that unit's side for the instant that unit DOES exist. Hope this is a bit clearer.

    Couldn't agree more - the new control style isn't even that more complex. Wow, an extra two keys we need for leaning. The one gripe I have is that the "hold run" key, when held, makes you walk, but I cured that by a simple workaround. For gawd's sake people, it ain't that hard really. Give the damn game a chance, will you?

    Convoy Ambush SP mission

    Firstly, take the truck with you, it has tons of ammo. My advice: - Establish yourself somewhere secure to hide, ahead of where you will ambush the convoy, using the truck to cover your rear and preferably a house (you'll know which one I'm talking about) to cover one of your flanks - it makes taking out UAZ469 w. DShKs far easier, when they show up. - Lay 5 satchel charges and a mine (it might help to stick two mines to ensure the BMP blows up) close enough together to knock out the 1st BMP and truck. Then, grab an M136 and 4 AT4s, and ensure you have 2 mags for your rifle - you'll need them if things go wrong. When the BMP whacks the mine, set off the charges. However, this should only have killed the 1st truck in the convoy - there will be three more to go. - If you've set up in an appropriate area, all you'll have to do is wait for the remaining three trucks to wander into your sights. Beware of the UAZ/DShKs, as soon as the BMP goes up, they'll start heading towards you. Be warned, and whack them with your rifle or M136 should they show up. - DO NOT 4X TO THE EXTRACTION POINT. You WILL be ambushed, there are troops wandering that area, so be very very very very darn careful. Good luck.

    In my opinion, all the original BIS sounds are FUBAR. I'll make a video of my own WIP sound conversion today and host it up somewhere else, I've found quite a few good sound files, and made others by myself. These are quite good, however! Well done, buddy.

    Deadmeat of BAS once said that realistic play gives its own rewards. In this case, however, all I get is a vertical Stryker. Damn Mk19 recoil - anyone know a way I can lessen it/shut it off?
