Thanks mate, big help. Â Â Just to clarify, are these the ones used at squad level? - Redid the IBA textures today, removed the dirt and re-randomised the pattern, heheh. I used the captive model to get the IBA all on its lonesome - tell me this doesn't match the legs and arms well! - and - Whaddya think? -

Well, I think we have enough ACU reskins for the time being. I don't think I'll be fully pleased with these units until the tools arrive and I can remove that blasted FSBE helmet and change the headset, so I think I'll be holding onto these for the time being, unless people would prefer to see the units out and about before that time. Btw, does anyone have any info on what kind of headsets the Army are using? I'm simply thinking for ease's sake of taking the DMR's headset and whacking that on. -

Now that you mention it, I can always put on more than one type of flag, seeing as more than one flag is used in the field... although my uber advisor olemissrebel adamantly suggests that the flag I've used is the milspec one. I have also seen the subdued variant in use in Iraq... from photos, of course. I'll get onto this ASAP. Try here: www.recon-tactical.com - go for the ACU unit patches. There's a shitload there. See first post. Â Â Thanks for the comments, y'all. -

That's the way it's done IRL. -
My opinion is that he did the best he could in a very, very, very tenous situation. At least now he can kick back and enjoy his vodka upstairs, eh? RIP, Boris.

Some Modern Russian Boomsticks

Neph or Shadow NX - do you have a VSK in the pipeline? Definitely my fave Russian rifle. -
Sounds good. How, may I ask?
-
Amen - I reckon I'd be too busy laughing to run away.
-
It's no biggie, mate. Only a true realism nit-picker like me would spot it.
-
Hmmm, well I may be wrong, but does that M113 have an "air defense" NATO symbol on the side? Shouldn't that be reserved solely for your Vulcan? Namely, this pic here.
-
Sexactly. I'll save that kind of thinking for when 8800s are at the bottom of the heap, cost $150 AUD each and I need a new mobo.
-
Well, I don't want to be responsible for the destruction of your CPU and system, but OK. I have had two ASUS mobos, a P5AD2-E Deluxe and my current one, a P5W DH Deluxe, both of which are overclocking monsters. Assuming you're not much an overclocking guru, a good place to start for you would be in "JumperFree Configuration," if you can find that menu in your BIOS, I think it's under advanced settings. Right, open that up and it should say something like Overclocking Method or something, which is probably set to Auto. What I will recommend, seeing as you don't sound like you've had much experience at this kind of thing, and I assume you're running on stock (crap) Intel heatsinks, is to select... say... Let's go with Overclock 10% to start with - this shouldn't require any voltage uppages or anything, which is where stuff starts to get messy. Reboot your computer and see what happens. If all runs well, your E6600 should running at 2.64GHz - check in the POST screen to confirm this, or run dxdiag. OK, now put your system under some stress. If you get an unexplained shutdown, BSOD or any other errors (including but not limited to fire and/or the smell of burning plastic) it would be a good idea to re-enter BIOS and set your settings back to normal, except in the last case where you would be heading over to Australia to sue me. Have a go at that, and get back to me, and please say so if this is too simple for you. EDIT - the above pages as shown by KeyDutch are good too.

I chucked a few searches before I threw this up, and I don't create threads very often, so here goes. Mods, please bear with me. 2 problems: Firstly, does anyone have the D-Day Machine Gun script from OFP? I'd like to convert it to ArmA for use in a mission, but I can't find it anywhere, and I deleted it myself when I last ransacked my ole OFP folder. Secondly (and most importantly), I am still working on my own retexture of the ArmA ACU units, and my most important efforts involve the addition of new MOLLE strips to the IBA. However, these look like absolute crap unless normal maps are added, and so, although I've asked a couple of forum members who have been quite helpful to me, I was curious as to: - How do I create (and correctly save) a normal map for ArmA, assuming I have completed my .PAA textures (I also have them in PSD format) and have installed the NVidia normal map plugin for Photoshop? - I understand that the normal map is saved as a _nohq .PAA file... but why can't I open this with TexView? - Is it possible to edit BIS' original normal maps? If so, how? This would save me eons of time. and - What do RVMAT files have to do with textures? Any help I can get for these would be wonderful. Thanks in advance. Â

Agreed, having one myself running 1.2GHz above its shipped speed, heheh. Â

The ole VSS is a good weapon. Looking nice anyhoo - any chance of my fave - the VSK? EDIT - And not that it matters, what kind of polycount have you racked up on the VSS? -
MV-22 Osprey Tilt-Rotor
CameronMcDonald replied to [aps]gnat's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Would also like to see it some form of camo, if that's possible... ...I still drool about all those "artist's concept" pics of the Osprey in action. -
Well, not sure about the other bloke, but I mean once the tools come out, make sure there's a shadow. No rush.
-
Tried "shitbox" - no such luck. "Toilet with treads" didn't get any either.

Give the man a beer. Great landing too, hahaha! -
Lovely. All that is needed now is a shadow as mentioned above.
-
Keefeh - I don't know about the efficacy of what I'm about to say, but it also seemed to help - close everything else unneccesary while playing ArmA, like SideBar, etc, if you're still getting problems after around 20 minutes of playing.
