As you demanded C&C, here goes: Overall the mesh construction seems very solid and you have a decent grasp on subdivision modeling. However, your use of edge loops is a little unsteady so I'll give you some suggestions on how to improve this. http://i159.photobucket.com/albums....uts.jpg Blue lines indicate areas that need to be merged in order to reduce the vert / face count, while maintaining the appearance. The upper cowling on the main rotor housing has been over loop cut. You should be able to get away with using only six verts / 2 faces per vertical section. When viewed from the front, this area should be constructed like < so that each point of the V is equal to one vertex. The remaining blue areas indicate "Flat" areas in which the loop cuts running along the horizontal axis should be deleted and replaced with a solid set of faces. Green lines indicate areas that need to be touched up, in order to maintain edge sharpness. Currently your door looks a little ragged and rigid. The door should "Flow" with overall shape of the helicopter. I would suggest attaching or "Merging" the door back to the hull, so that it properly deforms. Once you are done modeling the helicopter, then you apply the subsurf and separate the door from the hull. You may need to add another loop cut behind the pilot's window, as this area is slightly bowed, as the contour sweeps out to the rear. Work on merging the vertices around the pilot's ground view window. Right now I'm getting the impression that the top half of the window was "cut" from the mesh, leaving some tris. Red lines indicate areas where the faces are improperly constructed. In this particular area, the faces should "flow" from the roof and down to the nose, with the other windows intersecting the main flow. http://i159.photobucket.com/albums....80b.jpg Notice how I have constructed the "flow" of faces on my 480B hull. Notice I have some tris, in my model, as they have not been worked into quads yet. Once these few areas are addressed, you will be well on your way to having a beautiful model. Right now it looks great, but I know you can take it up a notch or two. If you have any questions about subdivision modeling or any other model / addon related questions, don't hesitate to ask. I'll be glad to help. Keep up the good work!

So does anyone have any good side / front reference pics of this? Better yet, a blue print?

ARMA MP Demo.

Fine with me. Â *edit* If you like I can bake gray maps and normal maps for it also.

You guys still need that Hind UV mapped?

I certainly apologize for any grammatical errors. I just didn't feel like trying to make this into a pristine essay. I think it conveys its message much better this way. And I'm too tired to even try fighting over it. I just hope that some people can understand what I'm trying to say. Hope it makes it easier for people organize and work together. If not, oh well. I tried. - The humbled and ashamed individual previously known as Drill Sergeant. (Lost email and then passwords so had to re-regester a while ago)

To sum the article up. Nothing will get done if people do not make an effort to implement some sort of system of grading addons / keeping CGI people OUT of the gaming world. This thread is about the OFP mod community adopting some sort of RULES, to which addon makers MUST adhere. If no rules are adopted, then you have no right to tell some one else that they cannot do something / their work is useless. ect. This thread is not about me, it's about the future of ARMA and OFP. And if lights aren't going on in people's heads after reading this, well then they never will go on. Consider this my final attempt to make myself clear. If you don't understand what I am saying now, you never will. *edited because I forgot the [/size] bracket set up above.

This is tearing at my soul,so I'll make this my final bitch and crawl back under my rock. 1. Mod team for ARMA (non official) is using 12k per vehicle. 2. The models were initially created and tested on a 800mhz rig w/ 16mb Shared video. 3. The initial "Engineering" was done by me (Drill Sergeant) so if you feel a need to "Blame" or "Attack" some one, bear it to me Via PM. Don't bother the people who use what I've made. 4. OFP may be an "Old tired" engine, but why not have some fun? 5. Too much in your mind? Don't download it. We do it for free and everyone around here has some sort of agenda or bias. So there really is no "Right" way to do anything. 6. I did it to push the engine, to spawn some next generation moders. There are people who won't leave it at this, though that's all it is. "Next generation, maybe it's several generations ahead, but it's still "Next generation. Let sleeping dogs alone. (PS, it's not my fight any more so DO NOT even BOTHER to reply to this post in this thread. If you MUST HAMMER ME, do it via PM.) 7. Nice pictures on the last page. Work is progressing nicely.

-Locking game content: No, dumb idea as addons are what has kept OFP alive for so long. -Checking for latest version: Good way to do this would be a central web page which addon makers can list their latest versions. -56kers: How many of the great addon makers were and still are 56k? (Seems we also had crappy HDs which blew out on us, often before a big release.)
-
While on the subject of copyrights: Does the O2 UELA affect the SOURCE MODEL, if something is imported by a user who has made it with another 3d program?(for example Studio Max.) If a person makes a model in Studio Max, then imports it into OFP. Can they still sell the SOURCE MODEL made in MAX.

Actualy his current hair is prety cool. I wear my hair like that, though I ocasionaly spike it up and paint it pink with wash out jell.. I've even gone soo far as to perment (Lasts until the hair is cut off) dye my hair bright neon pink once, wear a mowak and be bald for a full summer. It usealy grows back so it's something you can experiment with. So my advice to Ondrej is: -Keep it the way it is. -Do something wild like: a dye job, shave it, mowhawk, or spike it up with hair jell.

DSA production last release ( most likely)

Talking about all my deficiencies and your great personal crusade against some one who feels abit differently about something is a really impressive site. But don't worry, my soul is so dark and dry I just love to be beaten, and given negative attention. For the record after 3 years of working on this kinda thing I never knew about .pac / .paa files. I didn't know what LOD's were. Really I never knew anything, except how to flame bait. Which, if anyone has failed to notice, this entire release was. It's working beautifully too because I'm getting all kinds of negative attention that I crave. So keep feeding me I like it! This is what I live for... P***ing people off! So I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy the fire works for the few days I still have net connectivity -

The Hk79 now has a temp skin. Please excuse the old G3/Hk51 skin. I was too lazy to change it as of yet. Stock is the old Hk51 stock not the correct G3 stock. First picture shows the FP lod and the second shows a rough TDP lod. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/Sir_Corkey_Moore/FP_LOD.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/Sir_Corkey_Moore/EXT_LOD.jpg

To me it sounds like a "Self Zeroing optic" Meaning so long as you squeeze off the round "In the work zone" the way you did on "the range", it will hit. Basically this optic will in theory, Zero it's self while compensating for a "Snatcher". As to why people just won't stick with the range card, match 2 stage adjustable trigger w/ mirror polished sears  and a good scope....... Is beyond me... As for the jerking when you pull the trigger, Just imagine your drawing a strait line from the sight to your eye. Pull the trigger back slowly until it's almost to the breaking point, make any necessary re-adjustments to the view, and break the trigger... That's a whole lot more reliable then this computerized P.O.S.

Thank you. I've been fooling around with the reciver/upper Textures. Still needs allot of work. http://img.photobucket.com/albums....w_2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/Sir_Corkey_Moore/HK_51_New.jpg For the reccord as to whats being made so you don't have to go to OFP info. "Currently I have the entire Hk G3 family and spinnofs with the exceptions. Hk21e, Hk11, Hk41, and GR serries. Otherwise the 3's, 33's, G1's, 90's, 79's, 5's & 10's are accounted for(Along with the full line of HK lowers). I also am finishing up all the different furniture for these serries."
