Aaaaah!! Thank you kindly klamacz! Does realizing I'm thick, make me just a little smarter ?
-
Im hesitant about posting this, as perhaps I have done something rather dense (again). I downloaded all the required addons. And Tacrod PMed me the CoIn2 files, but it seems that the mission folder is named coin2.DMA_LIBYA and the Libya Island mission files should be named *.Libya_256 not *.DMA_LIBYA. Are there two versions of this island? I know it was beta. I dont understand and I know Tacrod is away for a while....

Manhunter09 Had a look at that opflashpoint.org forum topic, looking good mate! I saw some discussion of explosives/satchel charges. I think I noticed your name in the IED thread, but I think you were talking about some kind of breaching charge, right? Im pretty sure that the WGL mod included a small charge for blowing in doors etc... Looking forward to the next update of An Najaf!!

Sweet! These look great Benus! I think that as far as visual improvements for OFP go, sights are vital as you spend a great deal of time looking at/through them. Compare that to new enemy soldiers who are usually too far away to tell the difference, or face down later on (hopefully!. They're sweet as is, but any plans for the sniper rifles? Also I liked that sort of scratched effect on the last versions too, made you fel like ou weren't looking through a hollow tube.

Thats a lot of work for been done/to be done! Best of luck with it all and looking forward to the results! Especially keen to hear about the C130

Great news! 114 megs isn't too bad. How many other addons will this island require?
-
Looks like a lot of hard work has gone into this! A few extra bells and whistles on aircraft in OFP are always appreciated! An ILS wow
-
So these units won:t have HD mags then? That's a shame. But this map looks fantastic. SOunds promising if the AI can move around the cities easily. Im looking forward to a few scraps on this!

Looks sweet! I haven't seen any hills or mountains yet. Need some forested mountains from which to start the revolution comrades

Turning OFP into your favourite game!
chops replied to gandalf the white's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Got access to my housemates whiz bang new PC and Im dying to get OFP nice and tweaked. Downloading ECP the sky mods etc, FFUR 2006 (needs a patch I know). The thing that has me stumped at present is how to replace both the CWC Islands and Nogova with Berghoff's nature packs and the WGL textures. I have searched and read a plethora of topics, but am not really any the wiser. So many versions/updates/options etc! Id greatly appreciate it if somebody could just point my ignorant self in the right direction. Fanks -
Wow all of this looks amaaaaaaaaaaazing! You must all be working really hard I'm looking forward to charging across those fields and letting the air out of a few baddies! Keep up the great work!!

Understandable, but making the weapons compatible doesn't mean that the addon will require JAM 3, as they have their own mags, right? It just cuts down options for missions and therefore popularity if you don't. It works for Laser's weapons

GetBankPitch Reverse Engineer Tutorial
chops replied to D.murphy man's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Once you've GOT the pitch of a vehicle, you could SET the pitch of another vehicle to that same pitch. This could be used to have two or more turrets on a tank or helicopter, by getpos, setpos and getpitch setpitch ing another vehicle (the turret) to the required spot. Something similar has been done by Col CLink with his boat addons, but boats dont need pitch in ofp, as they dont tilt like tanks or aircraft do. Of course I could be completely wrong -
Aaaaarg! Aaaaaaaaarghhhhhhh! I cant get this to save! I didn't use the normal save, only the one near the TV and of course the save that occurs every time you successfuly complete a mission. But No joy Even when I die and click "Retry" same problem. OFP crashes and I get the no data error. I'm using the Addon Heavy version, with ECP, Llaumax Sky and Sanctuary's DMA Anims. I did add a trigger that covers the base in order to activate ECP for Lasers Deltas. Please, please somebody help me!! And regarding the TOW, you need to have the version of CBT_Misc.pbo that comes with the HMMWVs. It seems the later version is incompatible (well that fixed the problem for me).

Just started playing this mission/campaign and I have to say great work Honchoblack I've only played a couple of missions, but the random nature of it adds a lot of excitement. One question Im a little embarrassed to ask is how do you get the AI in your squad to land their Littlebirds? I landed, the hovered, I told them to "turn off engine", thinking they were smart enough not to do it mid air. I thought wrong. Seems they haven'y masterd autorotation either. I think this random campaign engine would be great for a guerilla style campaign too. Anyway fantastic work Honchoblack! Im having shitloads of fun with this!!

What a bunch of sooks (crybabies)! If they're so upset over some pictures, draw one of Jesus being raped by a camel, see how many people in the Western world think somebody drawing a picture gives them the right to burn down buildings. It seems these protests are far more violent than the few that took place against the Iraq invasion. Morons.

There's an excellent documentary from BBC4 (I think) called Why We fight. It has a look at Eisenhower's warning of the unfetted growth of the "industrial military complex" (he was the first to use the phrase) in his outgoing speach. This film includes interviews with various insiders regarding the falsehoods proported in order to let slip the dogs of war in Iraq. Eisenhower was indeed a wise man; "Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed." "If the United Nations once admits that international disputes can be settled by using force, then we will have destroyed the foundation of the organization and our best hope of establishing a world order." Have a look @Sputnik Munroe. I have to say that I despise the US government as they are an evil pack of rapists who represent the very worst of humanity. I have also been moved to tears by many great US musicians, authors and actors. It seems a few folk in the US need to realise that the rest of the world can have the deepest contempt for the brutality of your government, but love for the greater people. A few of us need to be a bit more careful to indicate that our criticisms of TBA are not a condemnation of everything between Canada and Mexico. Edit: Spellin'

Nothing makes you look more guilty than to refute an unmade accusation. As for Rummy and Saddam... I can imagine Winston Smith sitting at his desk, carefully cutting out Saddams face...

Gee whiz! That whispering made me a bit jumpy, listening to it all alone at midnight. I had to turn around a couple of times, just to check...

That's a beauty! Must have been a good BBQ

Well if the "terrorists hate our freedoms", by not having any, we are no longer a target!

Time for my own two cents (even though the minimum is five in Australia). Racism = bad. Playing soccer and drinking beer and smoking joints with lots of different coloured people = good. Doing nice things with women of all different colours = excellent. Racists will never change their minds by being screamed at my those of us who see the light. I used to play footy with a bloke who was "fuckin gooks" this and that. He was at my house by chance one day. Said he was going to vote for the racist party (One Nation) my two left wing housemates berated him then stormed out (racist fellow also rather large). My other mate said "Dude, if you had to move to Vietnam, wouldn't you go and live in the area where all the other Aussies were, where you could speak english and play footy? Just like the Vietnamese do here. "Ohh. Shit yeah. I never tought of it like that. I see what ya mean". It's easy to peach communication and understanding. Harder to extend it to everyone. As for John Howard. That little prick is a big part of why I still live in Japan. "Australians aren't racist". The moron thinks we're all identical. It sends me into fits of rage whenever I hear his disgruntled school principal lectures on "Australians think...... Australians are.....". This whole assigning characteristics on basis of nationality bulolshit, is a big part of the problem. Martin Bryant killed 36 people in one day. He's every bit as Ostralyan as John Howard. After 9/11 we had ads on TV with this knob strolling through the park (throw a few darkies in the background, for good measure) telling us "Australians are friendly, democratic people...". Fuck you. We are the lowest form of life on the planet and some of the greatest examples of humanity you'll find. Just like on any other patch of dirt with a coloured piece of cloth and a boring song.

The GBU's on the default A10 LGB need a unit (soldier or a chopper) with a Laser designator to "paint" the target. Then the bomb will be guided to the target. From memory Diesel's A10 has both free fall and GBU bombs. Any bomb dropped from a fixed wing aircraft will be more than big enough to destroy any tank, regardless of where it hits. I seem to remember hearing that the RAAF F/A18s in Operation Iraqi freedom dropped concrete practice bombs, fitted with laser seeking heads and the steering fins, on Iraqi armour in built up urban areas. The idea being that 2000lbs of concrete dropped from 10,000ft was plenty to destroy a shitbox T-55 with a direct hit. Of course with no explosives, there was less chance of hurting civiliians. "We got A kinder, gentler machine gun hand" You'll be the first to know Pablo, if I can get that chopper version out. Have to find a big photo of an MFD in an Apache from directly front on... That's exactly what my MFD dialougue does . I butchered Rastavovich's original script so that a camera looks at the spot.

Gee whiz! Thanks for your kind words .Pablo. There's a version for Gnats B52 addon around here somewhere too. To answer your question, I was trying to force the gunner in the Apache to target something (anything, damn it) and then launch a hellfire at it. No joy. The Hellfire would launch, but wouldn't be locked on and just lazily flew off into the distance . I did manage to get it sort of working with the 30mm cannon though. Looks pretty sweet with FlashFX and the tracer addon (by Bn880?). You can zoom right in and watch the rounds impact. My access to Flashpoint is limited, so not much time to work on it, have to butter up my housemate and ask to install it on his new beast of a PC . I'd like to get a new, sharper proper A10 background/cockpit image and perhaps change the colours a bit? Been ages since I worked on this so I'll have to figure out what I'm doing/did all over again!
