Fuck oath.Really looking forward to seeing/hearing what you come up with for your next OFP pack.
-
How about "Private Pyle"? Or "Supreme Commander of Allied Whinging Forces"?Wait till it's ready.
-
That would be great. But BIS have already publicly stated that neither game is being worked on any more.
-
WTF?I played sega before the internets.

Brandy was my favourite. Basically chasey/tag but with a ball, usually a tennis ball. No game ever last long before someone took it up a notch. Whoever was 'it' would soak the tennis ball, making it heavier and therefore hurt more and leaving a nice wet splodge on your Hypercolour T-shirt (that stopped changing colours after the first wash anyway).

Oh what's this? Look what I found!

Great to see your work continues mate! Would've been such a shame to see it all collect dust in Arma1. Is it easier porting from Arma I to Arma II?
-
Is it a new addon you've made or what? How about a picture?
-
What on Earth are you talking about?

EA have announced patch 1.50 for Battlefield 2. The patch will include both the Euro Force and Armoured Fury expansion packs for free, as well as a few fixes and updates. I got a lot of fun out of BF2. It's good for a bit of jump in, have your fun, jump out type of action when you're not in the mood or don't have the time for a whole afternoon of more demanding mil-sim type campaigning. I'm looking forward to playing with all the new toys.

I tried, I missed. Engineer's shotgun isn't much chop (nor is my aim).

Yeah I've stumble across a few semi-tactical fire fights in my time playing the new patch. It's the kind of game that's only going to be as clever as the people playing it. I was impressed with one cheeky fellow who I caught placing C4 on my teams UAV trailer. I foolishly chased after him as he ran backwards from the trailer. He waited till I was right next to the trailer, then blew it up, along with my bumbling self.

The changelog for patch 1.50 includes a reduction in accuracy when you first go prone, for a fraction of a second. They also increased the delay between jumping and going prone, though only slightly. I've had fun playing a few rounds on the new maps, trying out the new weapons. I like the mew Middle East maps. They're more open, so there's more vehicel combat. As you say cjsoques, it's a great game to just blast away in. BUt having said that, there are definite advantages to thinking about what you're doing. I've noticed the highest scoring players have some pretty clever tactics.

When read carefully (left to right) the post to which you refer tells of a comparison between BF2 and the first OFP.

Thought it was better to dig this up than start a new thread. EA have announced patch 1.50 for Battlefield 2. 31st MEU Replacement Reticles and Realistic Ballistics
chops replied to yakavetta's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Cheers! That makes sense. Part of the reason I ask is there was a rectile like that (with the man-target outline) released for an OFP M4 addon. I remember thinking it was a bit odd. -

Sorry to go a bit OT, but what's the purpose of man-shaped outline in that recticle? Just seems to clutter it up. Does it serve a purpose? Range-finding? -
In LockOn, and as far as I know, in the real thing, to fire a Maverick you have to move a seeker head cross-hair onto the target, which is shown on a screen in the cockpit. From what I understand, having this kind of internal camera type thing is not possible in the current engine. BIS could perhaps get around it using a IR turret type thing on the A-10. But I think turrents are not possible on planes either. At any rate, in the A-10 the pilot has to visually acquire targets and lock them as described above. There is no magic radar that shows bright red blobs. Making the acquisition of targets more realistic would add a lot to the immersion of the game I reckon. An A-10 pilot would need a lot more help from a Forward Air Controller (as per IRL) to find and correctly engage ground targets.

Thank you, B.I.S.; Sign if you agree.

Well said. -
@Jex =TE= That problem could be fixed by just increasing the reload time for the maverick missiles in the config, but as you rightly point out, big red squares floating infront of the pilot's face is very 2001. Hopefully this will be addressed in Operation Arrowhead.

And your opinion could have possibly gone in the thread along with everyone elses?

Welcome to sarcasm my friend.

I'd like the flight model adjusted - "duurrrr it's not a flight sim" What about some more loadouts? - "duurrrr it's not a flight sim" Would be nice to have countermeasures - "duurrrr it's not a flight sim" The AI don't fly very well - "duurrrr it's not a flight sim" Does this game have aircraft? Do they fly? Yes and yes. This game simulates flight. I'm so sick of hearing that bullshit. Aircraft are in the game, so why not have them work better? Why shout down every suggestion with the same old nonsense?
-
There's no point in wanting more from aircraft in Arma2. The cry of "it's not a flight sim" dismisses and ends all discussion of aircraft in the game. Be thankful for what you've got. Pay your money and shut up.
