We could easily host 3 arma servers when the linux server got released Now our we had to "pollute" our best server with windows and it is of no use except of running one arma server We have saying in our language (dutch-flemish) een ezel stoot zich geen 2 keer aan dezelfde steen which means as much "not even a donkey makes the same fault twice" The most irretating are all the lies. Please just tell us that the server will take 10 years to release expect of keeping us in vain that you will release in a few months after the release. Lies ,always damm lies, be honest for once will you?

CheatIdiots.. and BIS... Question about cheaters..
Crazy_lenny replied to BLSmith2112's topic in ARMA - MULTIPLAYER
BIS just does not care. Companies only care about profit and money. The only way to encourage them to implement a key server and PB/VAC support is to hit them where it hurts.... , in their profit... Just NEVER NEVER NEVER buy anything again from BIS. I know I won't. -

Dear Bis, We really want to ask you in a friendly and gentle way to stop providing the community with the false release dates. We do understand that a good game takes a lot of effort and time to make and we have evry repsect for this aspect but lately the shit is hiting the fan. What we really dislike is the current situation where bis announces for the **** th time that the game will be released in 3 months time and than after 3 months, they announce that it is in another 3 months time. What I really notice in my clan/ofp community is that people are starting to behave really desperate due to this false info all the time. Certain clanmembers already stated that they will nog buy the game anymore ,as they don't want to support a compagny that acts this way. This makes me really sad. Please just announce that the game will be released in June 2008 and stop bugging us with the false info. Thanks

http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=64;t=52342 Placebo asked to rephrase my question in the right topic (here) Hi dear ofp fans, I assume that BIS will release a linux server for Arma (maybe not directly with the release, but I guess certainly after a while) . Can any of the developpers tell us on which shared libc6 library it will be based? The ofp linux server for example isn't compatible with recent versions of this specific library. This might be usefull information for linux admins, who want to run both ofp and arma on their machines. Any answer is much appreciated. Thanks!

Yup sure but you forget that the game was unplayable in multiplayer untill version 1.75. Version 1.0 (as the continent europe we had to do the beta for the US release ) Game was completely unplayable, planes fell out of the air, u had need of 60 bulletes to shoot somebody down, tanks fell in holes, lag as you have never seen before. None of the coldwar patches could really resolve the issues. version 1.2 version 1.26 version 1.27 version 1.28 version 1.3 version 1.46 That means we had 6 patches before we could play a decent game That also means we had spent 100€ (coldwarcrisis and redhammer) for a game that supposed to have MP capabilities , but in fact did not have them. Just after spending 150€ (coldwar -redhammer-resistance) we were able to play a decent game. (this was in half 2003 while the original was released in 2001) How can you state in this context that they actually delivered good support while we had to wait for 6 patches before we could play the game online! I mean C'MON.

I really HOPE that the following things are included, -Linux dedicated server -patches = decent support from BIS (not like we saw in the last 2 years) -anti-cheat technology. Without these things the game is doomed to fail...
-
I must say i really felt the same lol The game 2 was first announced to be released in 2004 and now we don't even have an update of ofp I would have been fired for a long time

*looking into it*

Take into account that some clans made the switch because of version 1.96b and the ofp sentry tool. This was initially higher.

another intresting question might be how long will BIS actively support AA? We can honestly say that the active support for ofp stopped in the year 2003. Will BIS directly abandon AA once it has been released or are they planning to support the community with patches and fixes?

This makes me kind of angry  You guys are behaving as if this is a small problem while the community has COMPLETLY been DESTROYED. U will not find a cheat free server anymore! All servers are infested with cheaters. Than we have the second fact that BIS only releases patches for the windows server(while linux servers are in the vast majority). The only thing were ofp is still good for at this point is to make some addons or cheats and to test them, nothing more nothing less. league or squad play has become COMPLETLY IMPOSSIBLE No we can't mention or say anything about it as if this will stop people from finding these very easely accessible cheats Why don't you guys take legal action? those communites have registrated domain names. we know their webhost, we even have isp dailup names from several of those developers. don't tell me that it is impossible for you when we can find this info very easely...... it is just that BIS doesn't care... I am really sorry for this what offending post but it makes me REALLY unhappy/angry. BIS if you want to keep the largest part of communtiy they have to act now. Else they will loose a lot of people(and in the end, the only argument that apparently counts for them, you will sell much less games and make much less money)
-
Well it seems to me that BIS has not learned from their experiences..... server version 1.96b has been released now. And what do we see? no version for linux.... (same situation as with version 1.96a) The majority of the servers runs on linux. I really can't understand why??? Yes i am deeply concerned about this issue!
