Crap, this looks good And I have to wait untill february before I can even begin to play ArmA But this looks so damn good it sure is worth waiting for!!! Keep it up! Nice to see the new digital camouflage uniforms. That cammo is one of the most effective I've seen untill now.

Comments like that are flamebaiting and not acceptable on these forums. WL+1 I find your avater flamebaiting or at least intimidating

    Iraq National Guard SF

This camo-type seems to have been developed for Iraqi special forces use. AFAIK it's not used by regular iraqi forces. The camouflage seems to be a desert version of the US M82 woodland pattern, but it's hard to tell.

It's indeed a hobby. Remember that not all people around here are still at school or university. Sme actually have a job for 40 hours a week, have a girlfriend and go to the gym every evening 7 days a week. That kinda sums it up for me. Most of the weeks I have no time for OFP at all, because other stuff takes up all my time and I also want to spend some time with my girl and with friends. So it's just a hobby and people that spend much time in modelling should be respected and not pushed because they don't work hard enough in your opinion. I think it's amazing this mod is even created and that he has the time to do all that stuff. And the units look very good. I know I bashed on the first screenshots of the new units and I meant that, but I also mean that they have changed to units that look very good and are actually better than what we have now. So keep it up!

FFUR 2006 2.0 Total conversion pack

Ok, the units are getting better. The woodland pattern is a BIG improvement although I think the intercepter looks a bit strange, but perhaps I'll have to see it in-game to get the right picture. The gear is however a serious problem. This is FFUR2006. So the old webbing mag-pouches should not be used. They look completely out of place. Please use newer pouches in woodland camouflage pattern that are positioned higher up the torso. And the grenadier with all the M203 puches should have a textured vest over his interceptor, because the M203 pouches are attached to a vest and are not simply attached directly to the interceptor. And the way you did it looks very strange. Look at Laser's rangers for the correct gear. It getting there though. If you iron out these last few issues these units could be way better than the ones in the current version of FFUR.

keep the old models please. If you don't I guess I won't use the update. The model and textures of the current US Soldier are way better than what you plan to replace it with. The DMA models are nice, but the baggy trousers and fat belly of the model are not suited for US soldiers. The kevlar-vest looks very wierd on this model and everything just looks out of proportion.

    SJB Weapons Pack Released

I agree with messiah. Not everyone will like your textures and that just a simple fact. But Messiah gave clear and good reasons and that should be respected. I would have understood your reaction if he would have simply posted that he didn't like them, but with the reasons Messiah posted I think your reaction is a bit too much. I like the textures, but indeed there should be no paint on the handgrip and the barrel should be better with just a part in camo and not completely yellow. For the rest it looks great.

    Upcoming lost brother addons

I also have a fully working rear-hatch It's one of the coolest features of the Achzarit and quite unique so I just had to include it. I don't have an interiour yet, but it's quite simple and can be done in a day or two (model that is, textures obviously take much longer to do)

    Upcoming lost brother addons

It's all explained right here; http://fab.ofp.free.fr/Tutorials/Textures.htm It's a real timesaver ones you've done the blueprint. It's real easy and in photoshop you just have to draw your texture over the blueprint and you have trouble with mapping at all. It sometimes takes a bit of work to make stuff in the textures line up properly, but this is all done in photoshop and not in O2. Just make sure the blueprint is correct. here's an example of the rear that I still need to do; The first shot it in buldozer where I already mapped the texture with blueprint. This second shot is the actual texture in psd (obviously this texture will contain much more stuff later on, but right now it only contains the small rear part of the vehicle). Now it's just a matter of drawing the texture over those lines, hide the blueprint layer and save it as tga ready to be converted to paa/pac in texview I must of course note that I draw my own textures in photoshop from the bottom up. If you work with mapping edited photomaterial than that makes it more difficult.

    Tonal update?

Ebud, don't mind the few out here that are irritating. You don't have to post here and we don't need updates. Just get it done and release it. The fact you are going to release it is already something we should be grateful for let alone updates in the form of pictures. Just keep up the good work and we'll see it released some day. We can wait

No that's my own model actually. Not 100% accurate, but it only has a few very minor flaws. The basic shape was created in a few days, so for a one-week model it's not too bad. I'm not a textureartist (I'm more a modeler) and this is the first model that I'm creating textures for. It's a pain in the ass, but it's going quite well so far (thanks to FAB's texture tutorial with the blue-print tip). Good to hear you are also creating one. The Isreali armored vehicles are unique and it's a real shame there are not more of them in OFP. Compared to US and Russian armored vehicles the isreali vehicles are much more interesting. This will especially be the case when ArmA support multiple gunners and than armored vehicles like the Nagmachon could be armed with multiple machine guns. I'm already looking forward to it

How do I move through Forests?

With the fire-effects on the ArmA screenshots I sure hope we will be able to have one in Arma (*evil laugh*) *Hold your fire, HOLD YOUR FIRE! Let the mother****ers burn!*

How do I move through Forests?

Forest combat is perhaps the most difficult part of OFP. Te most important thing is to keep in formation. The enemy squads can easily penetrate your lines in the forest and than you'll find yourself in a 360 degrees firefight (that most of the times ends with your death). When on your own, keep moving and take cover behind trees. Use handgrenades where you can. I never really liked forestcombat. When commanding an AI squad I simply sent them out in front of me and watch them die to find out where the enemy is. An enemy AI sniper is capable of killing almost your entire squad if you're not carefull.

The one with the light-catcher thingy can't take the backupsight because there is no room for a front post because of the light-catcher thingy. However, there are now Acog scopes with a mini-holosight on top for backup. Looks freaky but works.

FFUR 2006 2.0 Total conversion pack

June,2001 release date. I remember i bought in september 2001 new rig-1.5 ghz pentium 4,mbo 4x,vga geforce 2 mx400 64mb,hdd 40gb,256mb ram ..... and flashpoint was runing superb-but hell that was long time ago and it was old flaspoint....now u for sure must have decent rig if u want to play ffur 2006... plus that the engine is not optimized for current tech. So the better your hardware is, it won't make the difference it should make, because the engine is holding you back. OFP will eventualy die because of this. Arma is optimized obviously and as you can see on the newest screenshot's it looks MUCH better than even FFUR2006 (which is by far the best OFP I've seen so far). Still, FFUR2006 is an extremely good addonpack and is the certainly streching the lifetime of OFP untill Arma get's released. It's stuff like this that keeps me playing OFP. Keep it up!!

    Tonal update?

use a modfolder; one for tonal original and one for tonal upgrade. Than just create two shortcut's on your desktop for both versions of tonal. You're not going to use both islands at the same time so it's a good solution.

    SJB Weapons Pack Released

firing with both eyes open is a technique that alows you to fire your weapon and still remain fully aware of what's happening around you, since your field of view is still the normal wide angle. This technique was first used for CQB and is becomming more and more popular. It requires some time to get used to it though. Interesting to note is that the police in my country also learns to fire their weapon (Walther P5 and in the near future Glock17) with both eyes open. I'm not sure about the military.
