    Nationstates

Here is mine: UN Category: Civil Rights Lovefest Civil Rights: Excellent Economy: Strong Political Freedoms: Excellent Location: The Syndicate The Republic of Antropy is a small, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its strong anti-business politics. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 16 million hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion. It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Social Welfare, although Education and Healthcare are secondary priorities. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 56%. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Gambling. Scientists recently cloned the long-extinct feather-bellied rabbit, young children are regularly seen wagering pocket money at blackjack tables, citizens select which government department gets their income tax iron bolts each year, and there have been reports of people marrying housepets. Crime is relatively low. Antropy's national animal is the rabbit, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the iron bolt. Antropy is ranked 3rd in the region and 36,849th in the world for Largest Soda Pop Sector.

The UN has moved out of Iraq, surprisingly; UN out of Iraq Is this the international community giving the USA the middle finger? Or are they just saving their own asses?

    Sweden decides

I agree entirely! I'm sick of elderly people complaning that the youth are ageist, but we can't even enter a supermarket without the security cameras following us, or walk down a street without getting a dirty look, and when some people my age were on the streets protesting the war in Iraq there were comments in my local newspaper like, "Since when are 16 year olds experts in world politics?" I bet I knew a lot more about the situation than that person..... The trouble is, by the time people are adults, they stop caring about the youth being treated badly and the young aren't taken seriously enough.

This is what these forums are best for; it's the only place I've seen people change their minds in the Iraq topic.

    Sweden decides

He's older than me, (by 1 month 5 days) but no-one ever comments on my age on some of my more garbled posts; while I strongly disagree with Bordoy, you have to admit it's political bias which is leading to him not being taken seriously. But hopefully his views will change if he participates in more of the political discussions.

It's because people think that New Labours being soft on those dang evil asylum seekers, stealing our jobs, pillaging our towns and raping our women! (Needless to say these views are actually very flawed, and most arguments come from dodgy Daily Mail statistics)

Actually, the BNPs economic systems are left wing, however they are classed as far right because they are very authoritarian and their racial beliefs are similar to Hitlers. If they ever come to power, it will be through cheating. Most of them have criminal records....

Probably because he's British. Altering a classic line; "No EMU thanks we are British". The Swedish equivalent should read "No to everything, we are Swedish" Hey, that's not fair. I'm British but I'm pro-Euro.

    The Middle East part 2

Do you really believe that quote? Yes, I do.  Shanab went on to say that, eventually after establishing an independent state on 22% of their original homeland, the Palestinian people would have to decide whether to keep fighting for the other 78%.  He suspected that they would overwhelmingly prefer peace. Like this one? ...Jordan, half as big?  How so? They weren't the ones who killed Abu Shanab for agreeing with a 2-state solution? Heh, thanks. I've actually been relaying an argument with someone else on another forum, beause I don't really know enough about the situation myself. Thanks.

    The Middle East part 2

No, they haven't given up on that aim, and it remains their principle reason for existing. In practical terms, this is shown by the very fact that, whenever there has been a looming peace (narf) in which both governments seem to have accepted the importance of major concessions, Hamas and Hezbullah have attacked civilians and railroaded the plan. The representatives of the Palestinian people have never truly represented the needs of their people. One of the novel events of the process in recent months is that finally an American president declared the obvious, which is that Arafat is a croney for the religious extremist. Also, it means didley-squat if some members of Hamas are more moderate than others. The actions speak for the themselves. The religious leadership makes the decision; the intermediaries formulate the plans and manufacture the arms and explosives; and the peons strap themselves up and kill women and children (and on occasion a few soldiers, but rarely). Hamas, also, is a construct of foreign meddlers, like Cyco already intoned. It's a fabrication, birthed by outsiders, centered on foreign-taught religious clerics of the same ilk as Osama bin Laden and his mentors. The disgruntled outsiders have loved to carry the Palestinian as their mascot for justice, but it's a sick joke. The worst of it is that, over the past 30 years, they've garnered more popular support, by the same tactics that have transformed Pakistan and other places: feed the little children, in one hand food and medicine, in the other religious hate. As for the foe... he's here to stay. Sixty years ago, the influx of Jews into Palestine could have been curbed, and Israel may never have become what it has become today. But that's no longer practical. The way one shows this sentiment is to negotiate, make concessions, and disarm extremists.

    Resitance: last mission

I never actually played that mission. I reached it, but put it off because I was expecting it to be really difficult, but then my computer went funny so I rebooted....I might go and play it again sometime.

    Red hammer

Red Hammer was easily the poorest of the Campaigns, apart from Between the Lines. (has anyone even heard of it? nope, didn't think so ) It WAS much too hard and the AI on your side was always set to lowest I think, to get a good score you had to keep them out the way and go Rambo.

    The Middle East part 2

I know. I'm playing devils advocate. Continuing that role: Do you really believe that quote? It's not as if Israel isn't willing to make painful concessions to the Palestinians. They've offered them to the Palestinians before, and are turned down each time. They have even made generous concetions to Egypt and Jordan. The later wouldn't be half as big as it is now otherwise. If Hamas really wanted only the west bank, they would have let it happen a long time ago. I'm sure Arafat would love to sign those treaties. But, he knows that if he does Hamas would kill him. And if not them, then Islamic Jihad or someone else. Hamas doesn't give a damn about the Palestinian people. They are really just a foreign funded organization (Saudi Arabia, Iran, and formerly Iraq) formed to brainwash Palestinian youth so that they can used as canon fodder in their struggle against Israel. The reason for taking the word of known terrorists over that of a democractic nation is beyond me.

    The Middle East part 2

Well, seeing as this topic is dying here is a viewpoint on events. When the terrorist targets a western democratic institution, he doesn't do it to alleviate the oppression of some group, or to avenge a social injustice. The motive is power through the destruction of the institution and the killing of specific targets (for example, American civilians on 9/11). The objective of Hamas is not the liberation of Palestine; it is the destruction of Israel and the imposition of Islamic law. They can seem to overlap, but they are not equivalent things.

Either he's lying or it was Al Queda. Either would make sense. I love how one news report claimed that the UN bombing might have involved AQ, and now some people just assume that was correct. Â After all, if Terrorism happens, it couldnt be people who hate what is happening. Â After all, who would dare be ungrateful for their 'liberation'? I don't think disgruntled civilians would go that far to kill all those people, although I agree that some of the attacks on troops are regular Iraqis. And I didn't get the idea that AQ was in Iraq from a news station; AQ is primarily against US interference in the middle east, and it's in their interests to stop an American administration becoming stable in Iraq. Plus, it is also a perfect environment to carry out attacks amongst the chaos.....I'm almost certain AQ would have carried out some attacks.
