    Safedisc incompatibility

Thought I'd reply to this topic to say that its solved Pinnacle told me (in november) that they found safedisc has incompatibles with video editing systems which they need macrovision to work with them on. Macrovision never got back to me personally. Anyway 1.90 patch (from 1.75) makes the problem vanish so everything is cool Though I still need to do a manual install (copy all) of the Gold Upgrade CD which 'detects a debugger' on initiating install - nadda problem though - something for the faqs though maybe. Was the 1.75->1.90 safedisc stuff changed so it doesn't check or did macrovision actually issue an update which doesn't pick up false positives? If the latter then hopefully other safedisc games will get it soon too.

Do u have a Pinnacle Systems card or any other type of video/tv editing/viewing card PuG? Have you tried shutting the programs/processes? I know of one other person (so far) with a DV500 & XP and the same problem as me with safedisc games.

    Safedisc incompatibility

Yeah read that: Processes: Explorer, svchost, svchost, lsass, services, winlogon, csrss, smss, system, [system idle] Services: Windows Audio, Terminal Services, Telephonary, Security accounts manager, remote procedure call (rpc), remote access connection manager, plug and play, network connections, help and support, event log, error reporting services, distributed link tracking client, dhcp client, cryptographic services, com+ event system Is the minimum state I can get the PC too, XP refuses/can't shut down the above (they are all normal core XP processes/services). I've even tried a hardware profile with the two core pinnacle devices disabled via device manager and safedisc still complains. If I disable the third (its firewire controller) winXP gets a STOP error on boot up....

    Safedisc incompatibility

I have a Pinnacle DV500plus video editing card installed (version 4.0 drivers under WindowsXP) this and safedisc2 conflict. Safedisc detects it as a debugging system: "A debugger has been detected Unload the debugger and try again" I'm not sure what other Pinnacle Systems products safedisc doesn't like but it does prevent most games (including OFP) working. Shutting down processes&services does not help. As Flashpoint uses safedisc2 what can be done about this false positive? I have sent a support request to Pinnacle but I am not sure how to contact the people behind safedisc.
