    Fog bug again!!!!

First, thanks for posting here. Second, no it does not sound trivial to us. We know that it needs a LOT of work and time to get such fix/patch done. And time is money. And third point, "wait for the patch" is part of the problem. - Bug is 12month old. - Last patch released 6month ago. - Last news in the "news forum" is 2month old. So all this "no information" does not help us. The patch takes time? Ok, no problem, take all the time you need. But how long do we have to wait? - a week? - a month? - 6 month? It can't be that hard to give a release date for the patch like: ~1month. Come on, BIS is no modding-team which is doing some addons in their free time. So the "it's done when it's done(bullsh*t)" does not count for a company, if you ask me. We are only asking for help and information, nothing more. MfG Lee But remember one thing; The way you want them to act now is the same way as ArmA's first version has been released - and that was a 'no go' for at least more than the half of the comunity. If they'd give a release date, they would have to stand to it when it has been reached. Now if the patch isn't finished at given time (and this is nothing unrealistic through the whole gaming world), they would have two options: - release an unfinished patch = an angry comunity - not release it and deleay the patch = an angry comunity Now which reason would you prefer to get more angry? ~S~ CD

Appears to be running out of memory

You seem to have posted everything about your problem that others could tell you too. Nothing else will follow until ppl will know about your sys-specs /driver versions / ArmA version / etc. ~S~ CD

    Restarts my computer!

I thought about asking the same but did a google search before doing so - and it returned nothing - so i didn't bother to ask, wether he did or not. ~S~ CD
  4. Maybe it's the wrong mixture of different addons you have choosen. Maybe you've done something wrong when installing the mod. For sure you've posted into the wrong forum since this belongs to addons & mods: discussion. ~S~ CD

    ALT/TAB

You must understand them pointing onto your spelling because from the first post of yours which i've read, i suspect your way of spelling to be intensional especially when comparing it to your knowledge about the grammar. There are some typo's in there which cannot happen accidentially IMHO. If it's not like this - sorry, but you really have to understand that nobody wants to offend you - it's more that the people who are trying to read your posts feel offended. ~S~ CD

    VISTA COMPATIBILITY

That's the point where i always start wondering about people complaining because having wasted some 40 bucks for a game that it doesn't run on a rig, where they probably have wasted 1000 + of bucks. Look - there where you put the more money, you have the more rights to get what you want. And don't let them make you afraid just because they aren't happy about the fact that you expect something that works from them. But however, Madus_Maximus pointed you into a good direction too. ~S~ CD

    VISTA COMPATIBILITY

What about going there where you bought it and say that you bought it for that one game only. Then buy the game there (if possible) and if it doesn't work give back the game or let change your notebook until they can serve you with a decent one which will run the software you bought the hardware for. Or better: try the demo first. ~S~ CD

    Sakakah Al Jawf

It's a very motivating statement for addon makers me thinks. You know: some of the addonmakers buy tools for about €2500 - 4500 (Maya - 3DSMAX) just for the sake of making better addons or creating them easier and you are asking for an addon not to hit the €20 limit.  Well the only thing i could imagine is: Opteryx goes for two versions: one without the QG stuff (when he is finished with everything before using QG stuff) and one including them. :edit - oh yeah btw - looks really promissing what you've done so far. ~S~ CD

Maybe you can become a little bit more precise about the: good rig? What OS/CPU/GPU/RAM/Soundcard Which drivers? What kind of Crash? With or without errormessage? ~S~ CD

Illegal 10 digit id error while Legal PLEASE HELP

Well, like i already said Jack; if one would modify an official statement from Suma, it wouldn't take long that the modifier would lose his abilities to post/edit anything here on the forums and the original content would reapear. Especially if it's not about some chit-chat but stuff like what we are talking about now. ~S~ CD

Right you are Wolle - didn't notice the signature of the quote. @JasonO - off course it's possible to modify the content of a quote, but in case it's a quote from a BIS member or a moderator - be sure the wrong text wouldn't stay there for very long and the person who did it would receive a warning level or even more. ~S~ CD

Who is Wildgoose? I mean don't get me wrong - if it's confirmed then ok but because Wildgoose who i don't know said it's confirmed, doesn't mean to me it's confirmed. Even Wildgoose will understand my opinion here. If this is a secret information for only those who run a server, i will accept it but as long as there's no official information, i can't believe it for 100%. @{9thInf}Winchester Delta1 Where does your information come from which made you decide to ban 10digits? -Wildgoose -BIS or publisher -dedicated Server installation documentation -rumors -your own theory -EA games -anybody else here on the forums -George Bush If you ask me, there are only two in this list, which would confirm the truth about this information. ~S~ CD

    need info.......

Well, i can't understand why everybody says no. You can do it like in real life. All you need is to: a) change position inside the tank or b) have a gunner onboard Everything else is just not realistic and thus not worth to be mentioned IMHO. I can't see explicit being asked for the driver being able to controll the turret in question #2. ~S~ CD

  16. Comparing different games on same hardware is like comparing apples and bananas. They should have same taste because both grow up on trees. ArmA can be compared to Star Trek - it explores regions of your hardware, where no other program has been before. When i saw first time that newer pc's only get sold with Vista i straight came to the conclusion that MS is making pressure because they want to get their new product on the man. I'm really happy to have bought my latest rig a month before every hardware dealer jumped onboard of that Vista ship. I still remember how long time it has taken for me to hop onto XP, because my older ME was working fine for those games i was playing at given time and there was not a single reason to change that - though i remember lot of ppl having had various problems with XP during it's first year of presence. BIS has made a good decision with staying on XP for ArmA IMHO. Imagine: what if Vista had turned out to be a auto-goal and if ppl had made a decision not to like it. How many copies of ArmA BIS (or their publishers) would have had sold then? XP was here when ArmA came out - Vista wasn't - should BIS be blamed afterwards for forcing their customers to buy a new Operating System just to be able to play their game or should they have kept developing it for a working and well-known system? There's a good phrase, i know it from football/soccer, but you can easily convert it to every single aspect of life: 'Never change a winning team' And yeah - don't be afraid from setting up a dual boot - the worst thing that can happen is that the game is not running but then at least you would know upon your own experience. ~S~ CD
  17. Get rid of this piece of crappy Arma Engine Code, and tell the dev they have to get it running right! 8 months are over since the game has been released and all i get is BSOD, system freezes, error messages like "cannot create memory surface blabla" and stupid anti-vista-noob posts in troubleshooting forums and a fucking gamesupport from dev's cause they need 3months to release patches and make it just worse. Well, the good old BSOD and them user's accusations it might be caused by crappy software. Best you open up google, then enter BSOD or blue screen of death, and have a long long read. Then you come back and show us links to serious sources, which are pointing onto crappy software (except driver software - they are related to hardware imho). And that Vista is running games which were not optimized for Vista slower than XP is also nothing new in the entire gaming scene. ~S~ CD

arma 1.08 is cool but my weapons are gone!

Nah, buying a new computer is last resort if nothing else works, but is also like uninstal not relevant to the problem of no weapons after patch 1.08. ~S~ CD

arma 1.08 is cool but my weapons are gone!

No need to uninstall the game. Just remove your 3rd party addons and add them back in piecewise to evaluate, which one(s) is/are causing the missing weapons. ~S~ CD

    Arma slower with Windows Vista?

I can't find the thread but i remember someone been posting tests with various games and resolutions on Vista and on XP and in none of the tests Vista was the winner in speed or framerate. Now it's your turn again to find another reason why you don't like ArmA ~S~ CD

    Setting up a joystick

What is your problem? I mean i got that X52 working ingame without any problems. Just configure in options (ArmA), which button or axis to be used for which function. Though the only problem i can imagine: if you have another joystick/joypad/wheel/pedals installed it could be problems with detecting the primary device - only one device is supported at the moment. ~S~ CD

    How they Cheat

Anybody remember the scene in blackhawk down, where the choppers are going in and that kid is holding a mobile phone up so that they can listen what's comming. I'd also say; find the right people on the right server to play with and things like that won't be a problem for you. ~S~ CD

    Anyone know this error

I've experienced that message also. I could fix it by 'NOT' choosing: DEFAULT in the advanced display setup. note: default is the new option available where the game decides which settings are best for your system. ~S~ CD

    Blue Screen Of Death!!

Drivers are a good start but don't forget BIOS and chipset driver update. The HD defrag if you ask me won't help too much in case of a BSOD but you'll never know if you didn't try at least. Also if nothing of that works you could try to disable the soundcard to at least be able to exclude components from being the reason. :edit - and her you got a link to the BSOD Wikipedia, if you want to find out more about it. ~S~ CD
