    Is your question meant seriously or not? If it's seriously meant - then - yeah it's easier to start making your first addon a concrete divider than an airplane being able to land in the ocean or on your selfmade carrier. Soz, but this will be my first addon and i've just started working with o2 a week and a half ago. Before i've been mission editor + scripter (singleplayer/multiplayer) for 3 years. ** other stuff not written by CD because of possible result in being permanently banned from the forums ** ~S~ CD

    OK - thx for the for the suggestion about textures, but i think the primary goal is to get the objects on the streets, working properly. Using textures (wether dirty or not) is the secondary objective of my work. Maybe in a later version i'l add more detail to the textures, but at the moment i too think they're fine: Just need to add some path lods for AI being able to walk through between the blocks, then they're finished. ~S~ CD

    OK, i couldn't go to bed before having tried that once more  You know what? I got it to work now No more bullets going through the cement barriers ctrl-a + "Structure">"Convexity">"Component Convex Hull" brought 5 times more components then i expected. This must have happened during copy/paste of the objects. I then got rid of all useless components (a whole lot of single points) and did again the: "Structure">"Convexity">"Component Convex Hull" with all remaining lod objects being selected. Then the number of components did match with objects being placed. OK, AI ist still running around those, but that shouldn't be a problem upon your advice anymore  I believe path's will do the job, since AI is able to shoot through the gaps which lets me think they can see through. cheers guys ~S~ CD

    Thx for your quick replies Bratty and hardrock. This helps alot of better understanding the whole lod thingy. I can't try it out atm - need to get at least 5 hours of sleep before goin to work but i think i found a few things in theory upon your hints. a) not each lod part of the geo lods is named; if you meant that. Let me explain: i made let's say 5 x 5 basic shapes + 5 x 5 geo lods for them Now there's only Component01 here Did you mean i would need Component01 - 05? - if so then everything's clear for that part. b) A "view geo lod" i haven't made path lods neither too Would i need both then or would be one of these two enough? wow - i can't await 'till i'm back from work 15 hours from now thx again for your explanations - this makes much more sense to me now. ~S~ CD

    OK, comming forward pretty well with the cement barriers  When trying to cross them with a humvee, at least ppl get wounded and it's not very easy to come across them. IMHO that's not too unrealistic, as i've seen in real life too cars driving (jumping) over such barriers. :edit -  stupid me - i shouldn't ask o2 questions here - will post them into the right corner of the forums now **questions removed by CD** Here are two more screens of the cement barriers: I'm lookin forward to get them finished soon then  ~S~ CD

    You'll need to stand up to shoot over. However, as i said there will be 20 - 30 centimeter spaces inbetween them, so you'll be able to shoot through there. At the moment you can run over them - and when trying to drive over them you'll succeed too after a while. I don't think making them lower makes much sense, as it would become very easy to cross them with any kind of vehicle. ~S~ CD

Otherwise it the action-menu entry will not appear (if placed with wrp-edit) - if placed from the editor, the action-menu entry will still be available without the CLASS property. ~S~ CD

    price too high .... blah blah not worth to be bought .... blah blah I apologize that my previous post did lead a few ppl into a senseless debatte to off-topic. Let's get back on track: Battlefield 2 yeah i'm sure at least as much players as you can find at the moment in BF 42, will be seen in BF 2, therefore those who like the first one, will give it's continuation a try and buy it. I will do so, without ignoring that OFP ist still my number ONE. Those who still can't keep ON-topic may perhaps only do that for the fact that this thread gets closed and this shouldn't become the fault of the thread's topic. ~S~ CD

    Trying it out is one thing (call it an unofficial demo) but playing but not paying for it is pretty bad. If you like to play that kind of games then it's pretty okay, you have alot of people to play against etc. You seem to like to play it so could you tell me what's special with that game compaired to others as you don't think it's worth to buy? Either you like it and buy it or you don't like it... acturaly i just played this game on my computer for a week or so then i delete it, turn my head on to cyber cafe, paying $2 for a few hours or so for online service and play it there, most of the time with bunch of friends. as cyber cafe have to pay for the game company to make a lisence(atless in hong kong it is how things work), so theres' not much difference between buying it personally, but giving a hold $40 at once to have a cop at home is surely a waste of money for me and yeah i'd play a lot with my friends, just for some stupid fun as the game play really suck big time, as most of the gamers in hong kong are CS kiddies who would take these kind of games so damn much just like those at other places For some reason your two posts don't really fit together perfect. Compare your first post with your second one. Even if it's been only "for a week or so", when you were running it like "we know what you mean " I tell you what now: one of my working mates had to make a phone call from Austria (Europe) to Germany + some phone calls to the shop where he bought his legal copy + he had to go there a second time just to get another copy of the game and return his first one. You know why? Because the cd-key he's got with his legal copy being already used by another person somewhere out in the web. Imagine that my working mate had lost 2 days of playing a game as supposed to be, for which he paid real money (you know what i mean ) and further more he lost money for doing the phone calls + he lost 4 hours of his free time, just to visit the shop a second time. The first two phone calls he did, they didn't even believe what he told them, and they answered that his firewall + virus scan must be the reason. Forgive me therefore that i can't laugh about your poor tries to excuse what you did there. Let's just hope that such a thing won't happen to you in near future, when OFP 2 comes out (and let's hope that my working mate won't find this thread, as we're using the same ip range, which would probably end up in a ban of our ip range here at the forums). ~S~ CD

    Yeah that's because the syntax is incorrect; {getpos _x select 2 < 2} count thislist > 0 should be the right one (if not i'll be back later again - just being awaken) This trigger wouldn't go off in case: A non air unit + plane1 are inside the trigger area at the same time. ~S~ CD

    that's what i expected to see and to hear guys Now if there isn't an issue with flying vehicles touching the water i'm really lookin forward to do some cool landing/takeoff scripts - also i think Unnamed is working actually on ai scripts to use more than one airport - these would come in very handy for him i believe mucho appreciated ~S~ CD

    hmm - i just can't understand all of this negative feelings about the topic of this thread. See - i'm 100% OFP freak - this game has changed my life. Before OFP i've bought a new game (or two) almost every month. OFP did then settle me down as i just haven't got any time left to even consider taking another game's cover to only read the description on the backside of it. Now i do love making missions + scripting + hanging around every day at 3 OFP sites (here - OFPEC - OFP.info) - i just can't let it be  I got now a whole lot of addons, which i think do cover a wide range of different situations for war. Everytime a new addon is released i'm running in circles followed by a moonwalk and a flip flop ending up in a loud hip hop horray.  I've been playing multiplayer in a squad for a long time, + i've also got great experience when it comes to multiplayer mission making. I've tried to support the mission editing comunity with solutions for their problems here and at OFPEC and i'm still doing that. I've always tried to recreate the situations they expected to get to work, just to come back with a working solution. I've even learned most of the stuff i know that way. But now i've reached a point, where i just can't spend 8 hours in ofp without getting the feeling: "i've already seen that". I know about so many things, just not possible or only by complex workarounds. Let's say: free movement inside moving vehicles. as some here already mentioned it's a worse thing, i've seen alot of ppl complaining about it's not possible in OFP, but would fit perfectly into their situation. Let's name one more: close quarter battles It's just not really perfect actually in OFP - say what you want now but that's a fact. Before i continue i'd like to say: i still can't live without having to start OFP at least once per day, just to hop into the editor and if it's only for making a few clicks. OFP is still my favourite game, as i've never had a game like that before. Well that should be clarified i think let's go on: I am playing BF desert combat and BF 1918 (ww1 mod). I must say - i didn't expect anything more from that game than it's featuring and i'm really fine with it. If i want to have a piece of trench fighting, i start 1918 mod, and if i want to go for some close quarter battles, i start desert combat mod. Many players are online - that's a fact - not the best comunity ingame as there are a lot of tk'ers or spawnkiller's but it doesn't take long to find a game where it's ok. OK, 1918 mod i haven't been playing for a while so i don't know about it's actual players online states. Now there are a few things in multiplayer functionality where this game has gone one step one step ahead of OFP - this off course as it's been supposed to be a multiplayer game right from start (OFP veterans do know the story, how high the multiplayer aspects were taken when codemasters said: it's time to make money with the game now). The thing i don't understand is: why do so many guys just speak against BF instead of ignoring it if you don't like it. If this would be a thread about a new addon being released, alot of mods would have already been cumming in there to say: "if you have nothing constructive to say about this topic - let it be" For some reason this thread makes me feel that some ppl do fear that "the best game i've ever seen" has to fear another one. Let's hope this won't happen when OFP2 comes out and ppl start complaining: ah that's sh** and a*se #%$f* nobody can ruin my ofp 1 world. BF is in no way reaching the stage, OFP did for us, but still it's fun if you just want to start a game for half an hour or even 2 hours. It's also only a monoton game, covering only one aspect of gameplay, while OFP features a lot of different aspects, but it's still not bad at all in that. Finale: OFP  is the most exciting experience in pc games i've ever had, but BF is ok if you want to go for some straight fights just for fun. There's no reason for comparing these two different pairs of shoes IMHO. :edit - lol - totally lost the main topic now I will for sure at least have a look for BF2 when it's there. ~S~ CD

    One word i have to say: RESPECT Canada has been in trouble not only once during this championship, but with pure effort and "will" they always found their way outta it. Tho it's been my poor Austrian team, they couldn't beat (and the Czech's off course) but i know it's been their first game when they played against Austria. Canada really deserved place 1 as they never gave up and always fought until the end of period 3 (or overtime ) ~S~ CD

  18. But then again - if you want to move around a gamelogic or marker, you must have already a clue of where to move them. Why don't you just use the positional array itself then  Sometimes solutions are easier if you go straight ahead instead of using workaround after workaround just to loose the orientation. ~S~ CD

    All you need to do is: hint format ["%1",typeOf (object #id)] in a trigger's condition field, or script or whatever else, if you prefer a special method to execute commands :note - for #id you have to type the id number you mentioned ~S~ CD

  24. If you click onto show id's in the editor you will see alot of numbers on your map when zooming in. Now all you need to do is - get the object id of such a bush you want, then make a trigger and let you display the typeOf this object. Voilla you got the name you need to create yer own bush. ~S~ CD

    please stick to using IMHO infront when making statements like that becaue it is JUST your opinion. hmm - strange but i never got the feeling while reading Badgerboys post that he's talking for somebody else than him As for the movies i felt exactly the same as Badgerboy and Pathy - 1st was good - 2 + 3 seemed to be just a continuation for those who couldn't get enough during 1st. OK - the one or other nice scene were there too - but not enough to let my heart beat higher than watching a chess match ~S~ CD
