Maybe a US and Russia joint anti-terror or peacekeeping campaign for expansion? It is kinda strange always making Russia the bad guy. :) While playing the ARMA2 campaign, it just sound so outdated when the teammate calling Russian red or commies, com'on! it is 2009. :rolleyes: btw, has Russian army replaced their helmet yet?

Bloom is okay for me, but the motion blur does make my eyes feel uncomfortable quickly, i like the kegety's no blurA option which removes only the motion blur, but keeps the other good use of blur in the game :)

a small thing that need to be fixed. Makarov's aiming point is misaligned about one inch over the top of ironsight view. Server browser to show if VerifySignatures option is on or off is helpful for player to pick a secure server.

I was playing online today and hiding in a super market building. When I saw an enemy passing by, I started firing with my M16 on him. But soon I discovered all my shots ballistic are disrupted by the glass of the store window. The enemy was in prone position and less than 100m and I wasted 5 clips without scoring a hit on him, all my shots were spread all around him. (NO, this is not FADE :)) The glass is actually very tough to take out too. I tested few other MG and rifles at the same range, they all have the same results. Notice the high power M107 round ballistic is also disrupted, but it doesn't spread like other weapon and can scores its target most of the time. I'm not sure if this happens in every glass ingame. I only tested the super market window. It is very nice detail feature and increases the realism. But i think it can still use a little bit tuning.

I test the tall Hotel building today, same thing happened and i think Fenix is right. One more thing is when you are inside the hotel lobby, the AI enemy won't fire a shot at you. Also, if you are holding a longer barrel weapon such as m16 and stand very close to the window, you can shoot outside without affecting by the glass. Definitely something that need a little fix :). -
I actually consider the BIS forum is the group for me. :) I have met many good forks on the forum while playing online.

We all know the advantages of joining a team, but everyone is different due to the work, time, location, and habits...etc. I'm not trying to argue anything here, just pointing out everyone has his or her own reason. I think it is more important to reduce cheater, rather than to relocate or seeking other option. But it is also sad to let cheater force us, the good dudes, to play on a private server isn't it? :coop:

if the VerifySignatures is the way to go, I would still suggest to make it viewable feature on the server browser. Join a team or join a private server is not always the option available for everyone. I play on the public most time because that's where the people are, and the server choice can be limited by your living location.

Is there any way to know if the server has the verifySignatures been turned on from the browser? If not then is it possible to add this feature in the browser, and i think it will be helpful for players to pick a secure server in the future. Join a private server can be a good option, but we must consider that in some countries the game might not be that popular, the people may have to play on a more populated foreign public server. It is still necessary to let BIS know there is cheater using what kind of cheats though.

I just met a cheater too. The cheater is using somekind of script to build wall and drop bomb around other players, and teleport all units on the map into one spot....etc. The bad thing is that they are picking the few server with a lot people playing inside, which disrupted the online play experience seriously. I hope BIS can look into it immediately to prevent further exploitation, it is sad i can't provide more information because there is no way to know who is the cheater for sure too. It's shame for those cheaters for trying to ruin ARMA2. From what i see from online play, many people is shot down by manpad or tonguska in an aircraft because they are making them self a easy target. People tends to pull their sticks very hard and bleed out all speed, and circling right over the danger zone. If you keep high speed and put the threat at 3/9 line, the SAM will have hard time to hit you in ARMA2, and it is that simple. I'm also a Falcon Series player, some SAM evasion tactics work super fine in ARMA2 even without the countermeasure. I don't know much about heli tactic, but I always in and out fast and setup another attack run from a distance if i really have to fly overhead of target area. For me, the best bet is not even giving the enemy a chance to fire missile. Always try to engage enemy from a safe distance. A lot people get shot down due to their careless. IMO they should be shot down because SAM loves those careless dudes. Implementation of flare would be nice, but it should only works on IR SAM.

1991 Sacramento hostage crisis, which i mentioned in the early post. The sniper bullet hit the glass door while it was swinging and results miss. 3 hostage lost their lives. :( The case has become a example to study for police snipers. i remember here was a famous case of police sniper bullet deflect by glass due to the angle of contact of the glass, and it resulted in a disaster for the hostages :( but this might be too much for a game to model. :) I think the bullet ballistic is disrupted too much at least for that super market glass, i haven't test other building or vehicle. -

I noticed almost every USMC unit in ARMA2 has a optical sight on his rifle, and even the rifleman has a optical sight. I can't find a M16A4 with a traditional ironsight expect the GL version. There was one in ARMA, is it possible to bring it back to ARMA2 in the future patch? it might helpful for mission design. Also, From the recent conflict pictures, it is rarely to find a US soldier has a weapon without a optical sight in his hand these days. Has optical sight become a standard issue equipment for every infantry in the US military?

Wow, thanks for info guys. I guess everything has changed a lot, but I still kinda hope a traditional ironsight M16A4 for option. :) Maybe someone will also make a working PEQs in-game in the future, I think it will be very useful for gameplay and realism.

My problem is solved, many thanks to placebo! my N and M in the CD-key looks almost 99% exactly same! It really helps to distinguish the characters by taking a close up picture and zoom in if anyone have similar problems. I'm planning to buy the US version too, hope the US publisher won't have this same issue. -

I bought the DVD version from Amazon.de, and the cd-key is not working. should i contact petergames support or Morphicon/Metaboli support? -
I got three 2s, two Ys, two Cs, and one G in my key, and i have tried those ways, and they don't work for me. ( i have also tried many combination too...:mad:) But, com'on I didn't buy ARMA2 for code breaking... This really ruined my mood today. I bought my DVD version from Amazon.de, does this mean i should contact petergames for support?

I just received my copy from amazon.de, i had the same problem that Cd-key on the manual is not working; however, after a few try with anger :P i discovered that you can still install the game by just ignoring the "wrong CD key" window and don't press the "OK", you can close the window by clicking "X" on the top. You just go directly to the "ARMA2 setup" tab on the taskbar to continue the installation, i'm still installing the game, i will post again to see if there is problem. Maybe the software is the problem, not the CD-key. ---------- Post added at 02:06 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:54 AM ---------- The singleplayer is working fine, but when you are trying to go online or patch the game, it will still say that u got wrong cd-key. i guess i still have to contact the customer support :\
