    Overclocking my xp2100

I don't know if it's my cooling (good HSF, maxed out in case fans), but all of sudden my rig's rebooting on it's own....The CPU Socket reading is now at 34-degrees Cel. Oh, at POST it reads "XP2400+", but MBM reports CPU speed at 2160MHz. I don't get the two readings, as the XP2400 is at 2.0GHz...

    Overclocking my xp2100

Yeah, I've 512MB of PC3200/400MHz. Trouble with that is, more stuff to have to fiddle with. Right now MBM is reporting that my CPU Diode is 192-degress Celsius, and the CPU Socket is 33-degress Celsius. Should I be worried about the Diode reading? Do I need to make an adjustment somewhere? How? Edit: I set "Scale for this temperature meter in the dashboard screen (VUM style)" to 100-degrees Celsius, and that lowered the reading for the CPU Diode to 28-degrees Celsius. I don't know if that was what I was supposed to do.....My rig's running fine at 33-degrees Cel for the CPU socket, but I've this nagging that something's gonna "blow."

    Overclocking my xp2100

Well, I've finally installed the Zalman and Arctic Silver....and after running it awhile at higher and higher settings, I've an XP2100 @ 144*15 = 2160MHz. Did I do good, huh did I did? ;) Also, according to Asus Probe (I've an A7N8X Dlx), my temps are 32 Celsius/ 89 Fahrenheit. Too high?

Oustanding work, folks. Outstanding. I lament the missing machinegunner and machinegun team though. I finally have some Marines for use with the Command Engine (CE).

    Political correctness gone absolute bonkers

Remember the flap over the school administrator who was browbeaten into apologising for using the word "niggardly". No spine enough to say, "Bugger off, they're two different words"

    Saving jessica lynch

Just as I was about to switch the channel to something not so laughable, I see my acting teacher on TV! His name is Navid Negahban, and he was the Iraqi that "welcomed" Lynch to his country, and that slapped her later. Wow!!!! He was also on an episode of "The Shield".

    Project: uss nimitz 68 carrier

    Overclocking my xp2100

Okay, Badgerboy, I've finally got my cooling solution. My Zalman CNPS7000-AlCu arrived today. I also have Arctic Silver 3. It's been recommended that before I o/c, I run the rig with the HSF and the goop about 72 hours, to let the goop really "melt" in. That's what I plan to do; after that how should I go about o/cing it. I know the values to punch in to the BIOS, but I don't know if I am to go for the high speed right off the bat and then burn it in with Sandra, or take it up gradually, running Sandra at each increment. This last option sounds a bit too stressfull for the machine to me, burning it in frequently.

    Weapons

But general concerns, complaints, suggestions for OFP2's small arms and crew-served weapons. What I hope for in OFP2 are: 1) Separate keys for those weapons that are attached to each other, e.g. the ubiquitous M16/m203 or AK74/BG15. 2) Selective fire (semi, burst/full, etc.) using another key. 3) Fragmentation grenades that have a timed delay, and "bounce" when thrown. (Throw in a desire for different throw "styles", depending how long you hold the "fire" button/key) Am I missing anything?

Please contact your system administrator The above message appears whenever I attempt to access Internet Options through IE6: Tools>Internet Options. But strangley enough, not when going through Start>Control Panel>Network and Internet Connections>Internet Options. Well, dag gonnit, I'm the only who uses this computer, so I'm the "Admin"! I tried restoring my HD to a previous state/restore point, but the only one available was just the day before, when the problem was still occuring. Short of reinstalling WinXP and...OFP, does anyone know how to "unlock" the browser?

Locked out of my own browser!

Okay, problem solved! Had to go into SAFE Mode. Come to find out, somehow two accounts were set to Computer Administrator account, but logging into one would not allow me to delete the other redundant account. I had to create a few other accounts, set to "Limited", and Login back and forth until ALL the stinkin' accounts showed up! Only then was I able to delete the redundant admin account. OMG! I gonna try Mozilla...see how that works. Thanks for the help, folks.

    Controls

I've posted the following ideas in other threads, but I'm curious if anyone else thinks there is actually a "market" for them: 1) a.You click the right mouse button, your rifle is brought up into your shoulder, and your would "lean" forward, so you're not getting that "Ghost Recon" style of walking and     holding a weapon....    b.You toggle, i.e. press and hold, a key for the iron sights.    These are up for as long as you toggle that key? 2) Three to four movement speeds:   1. walk/march, as you do now when "weapon on shoulder"   2. run: faster than when you run with "weapon on shoulder", but not that full-on sprint in OFP now.   3. sprint: same as in OFP now, but better animated, i.e. your rifle or LMG is held across your chest.   4. creep: slower than walk/march. What do you think guys, not a separate key, but part of the walk/march above, when you bring the weapon up to your shoulder via         RMB?

Now wouldn't that be something! OMG!.....no more "bear claws" for hands......among other things!

    Mix your perfect game

Elements I like and how they can be improved upon in OFP2 Call of Duty: An actual aim-in animation, and the ability to "toggle" it temporarily, i.e. you aim in for as long as you hold down the aim-in key. And of course, "real" iron sights....An AI enemy that throws back grenades. In OFP2: Most if not all FPS have the weapon in sight, meaning you're always holding your weapon at your side or in your shoulder and pointed to your front. I would like to see something like this: walking/marching. You would move at the same speed as you currently do when the weapon is "on back", i.e. slung on your shoulder. Then when you aim in, say with the Right Mouse Button, the weapon is brought up into your shoulder, and you're looking down the length of the weapon. Another key would toggle using the iron sights. America's Army: Ability to cook-off handgrenades; the running animations: when you run in AA, your weapon is brought down across your body, as it would in reality. OFP2: I would like to see four fwd movement speeds: the walking/marching, as described above; a run as is found in AA; and a sprint, which would of course be just a faster, more animated version of the run, and a slow walk/creep. Related to this is fatigue: that faster you move, the faster your tire. Day of Defeat: Ability to use the support weapon's bipods. OFP2: I know we would all love to use the bipod on our favorite support weapon, but what if we could deploy that bipod at will, not just when prone, or when near a "support point" as in DoD. Along with this is terrain AND OBJECTS that actually support bipods and tripods. But please, no more manning of ground mounted weapons as if we're inside a vehicle. The floating around the pintle of the ground-mounted MG is just an immersion "killer". Viet Cong Though I've only played the demo, I did like the feeling of immersion with such little things as a radio telephone operator (RTO) present, and he actually handed me a radio handset. And the map that's brought up.... OFP2 Busy hands: Using the radio, and map for that matter, should have the same effect as when you're using binoculars, your hands are busy. I'd like a combo of the two: Radio in hand, I can still break out a map and compass with the other! "Murphy, are we here?" "No, sir....Here, a full grid off..." Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin: Area fire. OFP2: Hopefully, we'll be able to order our teams to fire in the general area of the enemy. I like it so that no enemy is needed for them to target and fire--just my will. Â Most FPS: Lean/peek; object-specific action key; separate keys for each weapon, tool, etc., and modes of fire.

    Interface discussion

Perhaps this has been covered: I would like to see an object-specific menu become available whenever you, after selecting a soldier or soldiers, place the movement cursor over say ammo crates, vehicle(s), or a patch of terrain, then right click your mouse. Some object-specific commands could include: '"rearm"; "mount" (get in as cargo), "man" (get in as a crew); "destroy", or "breach"; "suppress", "smoke", etc..

    Call of duty demo out!

Definitely a good MOHAA clone. I love: 1) Hey, they're throwing back the grenades!!! 2) The atmosphere. The sounds, voices, the "light shows". Didn't like: 1) Health packets. I aggree, a platoon medic is needed. If you die, it should be because your zigged when you should have zagged. 2) I'm hugging a pillar while that mg in the armored car is hammering away at me, but I see my squad buddy standing no more than 10 feet from the car, getting shot and hit, and he doesn't do a damn thing but stand there and take it! 3) Am I the only guy in the squad smart enough, or the better shot, to take out that kraut mg that's so prominently positioned in the garage there? 4) Watch the firefights, no progress will be made. Despite being a nasty little Private, apparently you're the best shot, and the most aggressive of the squad. 5) Hey, Sarge, can I dump these other weapons? This M1 Garand and BAR are killing me!. What am I, Charles frikin' Atlas? 6) Wow, don't those AA guns need reloading? (Nice light show by the way!) And I'm sure those mgs need to cool. I'll be buyin' it.
