Minigun, if you PM me with your email address, I'll send to you a copy of the anim tutorial someone sent to me. (You'll have to use WinZip to unpack it.)

Lowlands Warrior: Leusderheide & Havelte terrain
crassus replied to Matthijs's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Matthijs, please pass on my compliments to your island makers. And thanks for the mirror, HotShot. -
After readings Ex-Ronin's listing some of the Locations in Greece to visit, I got all teary-eyed and nostalgiac when at the top I read of Kifissia. I attended American Community Schools in Athens graduating in 1987. I lived just north of Kifissia, in Nea Kifissia, in the hills! (Try climbing those roads after a Friday night in Kifissia!) Anyway, I'm probably going out on a limb, but I'm wondering if there are any other folks out there in the OFP community who'd attended ACS, esp. from 1985 to 1987.

Red and Black was the the club we'd get sloshed at every Friday night. It was open during the school year, but come summer it was closed up. I tried to find a street map of Kifissia and Politia. I forgot the name Politia--perhaps I'm confusing the locals. Sadly, I'm in contact with only one person, and she's from a class that graduated a year after I did. (She and my bro dated...) Thanks for bringing back the memories. But no one else from ACS plays OFP?! LOL

Wow, did you know:Greg Kinnear was an alumn of ACS? Class of '81? No, no McDonald's back then. Let's see: you would leave Kefalari Park and cross the street to Yani's. It sat on the corner, and if you looked to the right would be a kiosk, further down would be a restaurant (oh the name!!!) at which we would get the "Neopolitan" spaghetti. Further down the street, on the right would be the apartments at which us Embassy brats would stay at before we got the house in the hills. Wow, an astronaut. Of course back then we nothing of him.... Blue and Gold? Remind me what that was/is? I remember the Red and Black. Was that around when you were there? Oooh, teachers? I vaguely recall Daley, Madeiros, but not the others. I've my yearbook at my mother's 'cross town. Now I've to break it out, dust if off, and just remember. (I joined the Yahoo! ACS group, as well as the International School of Kenya (ISK) group....) Have to go--got something in my eyes....

Outstanding!! That's incredible!! Were you part of the Boarding Unit too, living right there in Kifissia, not too far from Yani's?

Group link ii ver. 1.54 released
crassus replied to KeyCat's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Outstanding work, keycat!. Playing against the AI, I certainly do so more realistically, i.e. I do so keeping an eye on my flanks and rear for that enemy I know is sure to come! If I may, I would like to suggest the following: when on patrol in AWARE mode, the AI face outboard in alternating directions (I'm assuming an AI rifle squad in a column or staggered column formation) scanning their "assigned" sectors of fire, kneel, continuing their scan, then prone out, facing outboard of the formation, scanning, but not twirling-on-their-navel scanning. I would love to see the AI leader give the move out hand signal, and the AI standing up--at staggered time intervals--and continuing the patrol. But that's probably eye candy for just a few, incl. me. -
I'm very very very very....(get the idea?) curious to know how you were able to get the rifle to "face" in the correct manner when slung across the shoulder, i.e. with the trigger nearer the soldiers body. It's such details that only add to the quality of the work. Outstanding work!

Release it, please

New Anim pack for replacing Anim.pbo
crassus replied to Dreamy Knight's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Excellent work, Dreamy Knight. The anims are great. I've not read the whole Thread completely....but after messing around with the demo mission, once in "Patrol" they cannot be killed! I've hammered them with machineguns, hand grenades, and direct fire from a T80! They just fly away and continue marching! The Patrol anim makes for great screenshots and cutscenes though. Oh, if none of you have tried this yet, put down a squad of infantry in the editor, and put the following in the waypoint at which you want the patrol anim to execute: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">someName="patrol"; "_x switchMove someName" forEach units group this Then the whole squad will execute the anim upon reaching the waypont. -
Everyone chant: "Go, Klink, GO!...Go, Klink, GO!"

Perhaps you've seen thsi already: Red Orchestra Among its features is has one of my faves: use of bipods!
-
Well said, Harno. If just those three elements were coded in by BIS, plus more allowance for modifying it--new animations, key bindings, etc.-- OFP2 would be the game.
-
Keep up the great work, NZXSHADOWS. (I certainly hope your backing up your files! And backing up those back-ups. I lost everything when I was hit by that DirectPlay bug a couple of days ago.)

Unbelievable....so looking forward to Marine Corps vehicles, esp. Sea Knight!

I've yet to really burn it in using Sandra, etc. but I've got my home-built (Asus a7n8x dlx, xp2100+) running at xp2400+. I want to get it up to 2600, or better, but it locks up at that level. I'm guessing due to heat. I guess I should first ask, will overheating lock it up? I've only tweaked the multipliers in the BIOS, not the FSB, so nothing else on the mobo should be adversely affected by my o/c-ing, right? I'm looking at a Thermalright SLK-80A, and a Delta FFB0812SHE 80mm fan (and the Arctic Silver 3). Has anyone had any experiences with this brand?

I would like to extend "Thanks" to all who helped me: I've got this puppy running at (according to Motherboard Monitor) 2253MHz, with temp at 37-degrees Cel before gaming. Also, I've a new video card, ATi Radeon 9800 Pro! After playing OFP on a turd with only 8MB, and this home-built one with 64MB, I was in complete shock at how good it looked. I plan to add another 512 of RAM (because I can); try out a RAID-0 with a couple of 36.7GB Raptors... Please accept my sincere thanks.

Okay, thanks. Found it. Perhaps mention that in a re-do of the read-me....

Just d/l ed WGL 4.0, and despite following the Read-Me's mortar section....I can't seem to find the description.ext "that was included with this pack." It just aint there.

Outstanding work, InQ. Great detail in the cockpit. About the sounds: shouldn't they be a bit more muffled, near a low hum, when viewing from inside the cockpit?

First an apology of a sort: I fell asleep in Grammar class.... Now, I'm still trying to confirm if "Operation Flashpoint:Cold War Crisis" should have been written: Note the colon. Was what we participated in Operation: Flashpoint--pretty boring name for a military operation--, or was it an operational flashpoint? I believe this was brought up before in another thread, but I never followed through to see what came of it. Perhaps "Cold War Crisis" should be the common thread in these titles. Operation:Flashpoint, Cold War Crisis Resistance! Cold War Crisis ...and for "OFP 2": World On Fire, Cold War Crisis 3 I originally had "Cold War Crisis" and "Cold War Crisis 2" as part of the titles but thought, Guba's just one big pain in the arse in the first two, so it is actually one continous "crisis" isn't it? So should that make any third game/expanision World On Fire, Cold War Crises, to reflect the game's global scope of military ops? No wait! The game will not take place during the "Cold War".....

That's not it. If done correctly, I'd set "Memory Timings" to "Aggressive." Or should I select "Menu?" But then what specific settings should I making in each of the timing areas? What's happening right now, my rig will not POST on the first attempt; I have to shut it down and hit Power again. When it does POST, the system is reset to "xp 1500+" and "100Mhz"--though when I go back into BIOS the settings are as I left them, "200MHz", "11.5", etc. Could it be I just have a "bad" 2100, unable to stay past XP2700+?
-
Well, I thought it was stable at 2.3GHz (200 * 11.5), with voltage at 1.75, but the real results came when I shut my rig down, then booted it up. Nothing. So I restart it, then it POSTs and Windows loads. I tweaked the voltage up and down a bit with only the same results. It seems that 2.2Ghz is where it will hold. MBM reports the speed at 2244MHz; CPU temp at 37 Celsius; CPU Diode at 29 Celsius. Do you think it's the amount of RAM I have/don't have? Or is it just the type? Again, I've got the best for the A7N8X Dlx, v2.0, PC3200 400MHz. I guess 2.2Ghz is respectable.

Sorry, boss, you got me there. Which of the Voltage readings on the dash am I looking at?
