    A New AH-64 Pack

Well, I guess that's answers my question sent to you via PM.
  2. Out-frikin-standing, Wilco. I give you a hearty Marine Corps Hoooooraaaaaahhhhh!

    A New AH-64 Pack

Excellent work! It's great to see another breakthrough with scripting, as seen in the helo taxing before take-off.

    Stupid Idea?

I'm sorry to hijack your thread..... I'm still scouring both this and OFPEC's Forum for the exact thread, but I recall someone was able to script in-game texture changes (clothing combinations, etc.)....and he had a video of it. Anyone recall who put that together?

    Noob

Well welcome to our little family! I would say the graphics in Resistance are a notch above what you've seen in Cold War Crisis. What you will find even more exciting are the great many quality add-ons, made by fans such as yourself. They add immensely to the quality of the game play. With better modelling and sounds, even functionality, these add-ons just make it more immersive. Some I would like to recommend: Ballistic Addon Studios: Delta Force and Rangers; helocopters; Tonal island. M1A1 Abrams Finnish Defence Forces Mod And get your arty on (sheesh!) with The Chain of Command. Click on Addons in the menu to the left.

    ECP 1.075...The countdown begins.

Perhaps it was included just for the video, but are all the US grenades contained in the ECP the MK2? During my time in the Marine Corps, since 1988, one of the fragmentation grenades in use, other than the M61, was the  M67 Fragmentation Hand Grenade.

  10. One of the things I'm hoping to see as a result of this thread is the posting here, hopefully made a Sticky, of the Tables of Organization and Equipment (TOE) for those forces that are bit harder to find. I've many field manuals, etc. detailing U.S. and Soviet TOEs, but I'm hoping we can get the Tables for Finnish, Polish, Czeck, British, etc. forces posted, if not here, then made avail at OFPEC. Most mods are including squads and "platoons", as found under Groups/F2, but perhaps they can be persuaded to include in a read-me the Tables for their forces, from team/section up to battalion.

New military RTS game under development

Just played the demo.... And uninstalled it will get! Despite setting the in-game resolution to 1024X768, my field of view was limited to my "battalion." My "battalion" is short a few vehicles and men, on the order of, well, a lot. The "battalion" looks more like a reinforced mech/armor platoon.

    The Christmas/New Year Topic

MERRY CHRISTMAS, OFP FAN-ATICS. Hope the new year brings you all you want. .....Like OFP 2!!!!
  13. I'm not sure if any of the major FX Packs that are out now have already built them yet, but I would like to see--or "feel" to be more accurate--the effects of, say, being too close to the muzzle of a rifle, or M1A1 tank, etc. The same could be said for being right behind a LAW, Carl Gustav, etc: I'd like to see as big a blast come out the rear of the AT weapon as out the front, along with a deadly backblast. (One of the Packs has the exhaust blast, but it's not as pronounced as from the muzzle.)

    Panzertransporter Faun SLT 50 Screens

I hope AI can drive this bad boy.
  15. My two drachma, ladies and gents: (It's a slow day at work....) LEAN/PEEK I will be using a mouse with a thumb button, and a mousewheel that has side-to-side clicking, as evidenced in Microsoft's latest version. 1] Alternate Movement/"Pose Control": Mouse Thumb Button. Clicking and holding this button allows for the talked-about fluid pose control. Functions: Lean/peek left or right; squat; stand. Press and hold the Thumb Button, and push the mouse left or right, up or down. Releasing the button leaves you in that pose. Also upon release of this button, your pose is "memorized" for later use (explained later). To quickly recenter from a lean, tap the mousewheel in the opposite direction. The vertical pose (your squat) is unaffected. 2] Lean/Peek: Mousewheel Click and hold to lean left or right. This is the "big", full lean, the one you find in shooters like Raven Shield, America's Army, etc. Releasing the button centers the pose. 3] Mousewheel + Mouse Thumb Button: Here's where the "memorized" lean comes in. Clicking and holding both the Thumb Button and mouse wheel left or right will lean you out only that amount you leaned using Method # 1. Your lean is held for as long as you hold the Thumb Button, ie releasing You may lean out even further by pushing the mouse out further. WEAPON READY Perhaps I'm the only one who feels this way, but I've found it a bit unrealistic that my rifle was always in my shoulder, ready for action. In an effort to crank up the realism a notch, I propose that the player must now shoulder his rifle. Shoulder Rifle or Light Machinegun: Right Mouse Button Click and hold the Right Mouse Button to shoulder your rifle or light MG, or bring your pistol from a low ready to a high ready stance. You will not be looking through your iron sights or any optics, merely along the length of the weapon as you would see it in real life. Holding the Right Mouse Button would also slow your walk to a Shuffle. Wanna move faster? Tap (or tap and hold) the SHIFT key (my key for Run and Sprint). To bring up iron sights or optics, tap (or tap and hold?) the V key. SUPPORTED FIRING Sorry, if I'm hijacking the Thread, but please let me propose a few more functions. As you climb the stairs to the apartments second floor, you tap a key which deploys your M249's bipod. You near a window sill and an icon appears letting you know you can use that sill as support for your SAW. You tap (or tap and hold?) the SPACE bar (my Use Object/Perform Action key) and your SAW is rested on its bipod in the window sill!!!! Move the mouse left or right up and down to aim your weapon (and it's a realistic sequence, none of this spinning as if you've a pole up your bum). Using WASD allows you to reposition your weapon a bit. Release (or again tap) the Space bar to Pick up your SAW. Also, with your SAW supported, pressing and holding the Right Mouse Button will bring up your iron sights/optics. MOVEMENT I'll just fire off my suggestions--next shift's coming in. Standard Movement: WASD But the default movement is a march/walk, rifle in hand at the low ready. Run: Shift Tap left Shift to start a run Spring: Shift Press and Hold left Shift to sprint. All of this is effected by the type and weight of your load.

    Ai thread

I hope to see AI that can actually read the terrain. This goes well beyond the desire to have them not run into and over trees when you don't want them to, e.g. when in Stealth Mode, but seeking proper cover (protection from enemy fire) and concealment (protection from enemy observation) and yet maintaining formation. I've seen some attempts to seek cover/concealment when told to do so, but they tend to do it while disregarding they're position relative to their squad mates. They'll run off to the furthest tree and not the nearest one, requiring you to order him back into formation...they'll hide behind the same tree another AI is behind, etc. etc. A lot of ambushes I've planned have been ruined by "over zealous" AI. Â During movement to contact, the tail-end charlie in the formation should be covering the rear. Or when in a wedge or vee or line formation, each of the end soldiers should be at least glancing at their respective sectors.

    Learning Maya

I've started researching some books on learning Maya, but am not meeting with much success, as reviews of the books differ greatly. I'm hoping to find a consensus on a few good titles from which to learn Maya. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Learning Maya

Thanks all, for you replies. As I said, some of the reviews for the books teaching Maya, have gotten mixed reviews, very often in the place, i.e. Amazon's readers' reviews. I know that no one book can teach anything, so one must learn from a variety and quantity of sources. But at the same time, I don't want to waste my time and money on titles of dubious benefit, hence my request here. I've just begun the Tutorials contained within Maya itself, but those will of course cover only so much material.

Aside from what Hollywood--ooh, great source of historical info--shows, did the Cong/NVA really wear that "Coolie Cap"?

    AEF-Campaign: Train Trailer

OUTSTANDING WORK, AEF! Near the end of the video we saw footage of the train entering a yard or dock, passing through a narrow entrance. I'm wondering if AI engineers will do it? From what I recall, AI sometimes will not enter areas with seemingly wide enough entrances, etc.

    WGL Mod 4.12 Update

I get the following error when clicking Fire Control in my Action Menu: "Resource WGLDlgMortar not found". I've set up the mortars as usual....I'm assuming that #include <wgl_veh_config\wglmortar.hpp> is to be pated into a description.ext. ?

    Dynamic Interactive Buildings

I'm not at your scripting level yet, Col., but does the pallet conform to the terrain because it is damaged or destroyed after being shot? Edit: Okay. Nothing but a smoking pair of pallets, crushed. ...I'll just crawl back into my hole now....

    Red Hammer Studios

"Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it." Your team, as well as Colonel Klink and his boats, have certainly confirmed that. Excellent work! Will you make your work available to those who model other nation's tanks, etc?
