I hope it will be some sort of san andreas concept, not just one city. I still "miss" some place like the country side between Los Santos and Las Ventura. I mean I trully miss them like if it was a real place I've been to :p I've also always dreamed of a "GTA police" where you'd play a more or less corrupted cop, Ã la The Shield Oh well, pretty sure I'll be buying it, always been a fan of the GTA serie, even more since they choose to clearly aim a mature audience. I like this idea a lot, even more with a proper 6DOF integration. Being able to get out of the chopper is a nice thing but if it's "just" to perform pre-flight checks it would be a bit disapointing. This would open so much possibilities in MP. Oh well, if BIS can't make it I'm sure the community will do its best. When you see what they're doing with ArmA I have little doubt we wont see something like this. It does, I'm playing it on Win7 :)

In the early 70's Saddam Hussein and the baas party started to nationalize the oil ressources allowing them to modernised the country. Back then he was our "friend", our governments and our medias showed him as a great leader bringing civilisation to the poor iraqi people. Both right and left wing western parties were supporting him. Left wing were happy because they saw him as a progressist and anti-colonialist, right wing was happy because he was buying a lot of military and industrial stuff to the west and was fighting against the islamic revolution in Iran. That's why we couldn't care less about his dictatorship, his massacre and the way he used chemical weapons against the Kurds and the Iranians. Then it suddenly became unacceptable... Great news ! You're so much smarter than us, you must be the arithmetic man; you add trouble, subtract pleasure, divide attention, and multiply ignorance... IIRC the purpose of VBS isn't to be a "grunt" simulator. It's meant to be used by officers, to test plans, tactics,... From what we've seen so far RI seems to be aimed at soldiers. So in the end they might be used together wihtout one replacing the other.

Great news :) I remember posting something about this mod in the addon request a few months ago, glad to see you are porting it to ArmA 2 ! IIRC CheyenneAH56 did his own fire script back in the ArmA 1 days. It was working pretty well but the fire was quite FPS hungry. I don't know how it worked but it worked :)

I'm sorry but did you paid anything to register on this forum ? Do you pay anything when you want to change your facebook status or upload a new video on Youtube ? But just like you said, ultimatly someone has to pay. So you think it's absolutely normal for you to have the right to express your opinion, tell the whole world the color of your new sofa, the name of your puppy,...all this for free but you deny to someone who has no money the right to take care of himself, his children or his parents ? Are you really trying to convince people that superficial services like youtube, google, facebook,...have to be free but on the other hand, life depending services must only be given to people who can pay for it ? Free health care simply means EVERYBODY pays a little bit so that EVERYBODY is covered, no matter what. So ok, some people are abusing the system but fact is social fraud is a lot smaller then fiscal fraud (just for France : social fraud = €20 billions, fiscal fraud = €100 billions). Some poor people steal and it cost a little bit to the community. Some rich people steal A LOT and the whole world is threatened. Capitalism isn't the "end all, be all", it's just another step in our evolution as a society. I have no doubt it will be followed by many other systems as different as feudalism and capitalism are.

I remember pretty well, back in 2003, there were several protests in the streets of London and Madrid (or Barcelona ?) against the war iraq (before the invasion). I remember those 2 because of the large numbers of protesters : more than 1 million. What was the result ? Both UK and Spain send their men to Iraq... If there's such a denial of your own citizens willingness I can only see 2 solutions : a civil war a global strike. They just laugh at us when we're protesting. They see it as a good way to advertise the new toys they got for their police forces. But if tomorrow we all stop working or we all stop paying our taxes (their salaries!) I'm not sure they'll laugh for long... But as you said it has to be an united/collective action. I think the real problem is that being a politician is a job. It shouldn't ! Politicians should work just like you and me AND work as politicians. How come someone who has never studied law is in charge of the ministry of justice ? How come someone who never drove a bus is in charge of the public transport ? How could they have the slightest idea of what they're talking about, of the consequences of their policies if they just don't know anything about it ? I see it everyday in my job. I'm a cook and I have to follow a lot of strict rules (hygiene, "cold chain",...). I can say for sure there isn't a single restaurant in the world who's following all of them. It's simply impossible. Those rules were made by scientists, doctors,...not by cooks or anyone who has worked in a professional kitchen. Some of them are unpractical, some are senseless, some would require to destroy the whole place and build it again,... And guess what ? When do you think they're coming to check if you follow those rules ? Do you think they'll come a tuesday afternoon when you only have a few customers ? Hell no, they will patiently wait for the saturday evening, the busiest day of the week for us... And when they're here everything else has to stop. They just don't give a flying fuck you still have 60 customers who are waiting for their food. There's no inbetween with them, you follow the rules or you don't. And that's what pisses me off, someone who has never worked in a kitchen comes to me and say : "now, you have to do this like this and that like that. I don't care about the problem it will cause, the rule is the rule..."

Yup you're right. What makes them a bad company is, for example, releasing CGI trailers of their games and pretending they're actually ingame. Or completely stopping to support their games after 3 months. Or taking what's used to be a -legendary- brand and turn it into the exact opposite of what that brand stands for. etc Codemaster used to be a good company, they were releasing quality products. I've spent countless hours on the first TOCA and Colin Mcrae. Over the years both of these series lost their soul and became complete junk aimed at the largest audience possible. They're just like McDonalds, making soulless products for the masses. But at least McDonalds never pretended they were doing gastronomy... You just don't understand, what you're asking for is basicly turning ArmA into another run&gun FPS. There are dozens of them. Arma is unique. There's just no alternative to it. So yeah, when someone comes and say this or that should be remove because in X or Z game it's better we tend to get a lil bit emotional.

Well you don't have to understand anything, it's not a projection of the real world it's a projection of the ArmA universe (=armaverse). If in the armaverse trees are blue and 6 inches tall well that's the way it is. You can cry, you scream, you can say "that's not how it is in the real ife" fact is IT IS NOT REAL LIFE and it's not meant to simulate real life. ArmA is a game, its purpose is to have fun VBS is a simulator, its purpose is to train. Cant you guys just move on ? Or will you keep bitching and whining for a all year as soon as something new is shown to us ? It's been a real pain in the ass to read the ArmA 3 thread over the last few months. Constant bitching about this or that not being realistic, threats ("you better add this or else..."), insulting members ("if you like that then go play COD"),... I'm ready to bet one of my balls ArmA 3 will feel exactly like ArmA 2. There will be new features, of course, but I'm sure after 10 minutes in A3 you will feel at home, just like you felt at home after the first 10 minutes in ArmA 2.
