    I know this question has been asked time and time again; but I am beating my head against a wall trying to decide if i should purchase a certain system. This system is the best deal i have found and was wanting to know if it would serve my purpose without Overclocking and spending alot more money.

    Intel Core i7 920 2.66ghz

    12GB Corsair DDR3

    1TB Hard Drive

    DVDRW

    (2) 9800GT SLI

    650W Power Supply

    Vista Home Premium 64

    Thanks again for the patients with the same question over and over. But you will save me alot of grief and money if someone can help me out.

    swap the 9800GT's with a GTX 280 or 285

    Greets.

    So my unit just got its own server and everyone seems to play on it all except i get a ping of about 300 and massive desync while in the server. if i disconnect and check the ping in the server browser it goes down to 100. every other server seems to work just fine.

    anyone know why this would be happening?

    It's just your graphics card, did you buy a pre-build computer from some market? They usually only hype the multiple cores of processor and gigabytes of ram, but never speak about the graphics card that's currently the most expensive and meaningful piece in games. To be able to run all today's games maxed, you'll probably need to spend around 300-400$ to graphics card, if not more.

    lol not anymore. try 100-200 for a good card.

    id save and get nvidia. ever since i went to ATI it works with everygame but there is always some bug (e.g "flickering" bug, artifacts, etc) where as nvidia works almost flawlessly from what ive read.

    if you cant save up 40-70 more bucks (which shouldnt be hard since you already have 120) get a good 260 core 216 or maybe a 280. not sure if you can find a 280 for 200 bucks but you should be able to somewhere.

    i figured out it is the Sun. something about it. but i noticed when it is a clear day this will happen (it always happens in the opening sequence at the menu. it stops when side of the LHD blocks the sun. comes back when the sun is visible again)

    could a dev or someone look into this?

    edit: azmothman. that is indeed what is happened. however it appears that in the video it flickers black however it flickers white for me.
