Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.
Binary replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Yep. If you're running Win7 or Vista - you may need to use "-winxp" in your game-shortcut -winxp supposedly enables multi-GPU support for Win7 / Vista -
Think large-large scale combat, with each player (or AI) representing a squad of up to 12 units. These squads are then controlled and given orders by a "Commander". Commander builds the base and order around the units. Squads capture "strong points" that in return spawn supply trucks that deliver supplies back to town. All strong points are controlled by guerilla fighters hostile to everyone. Ultimate goal can be defined before mission start (capture x amount of strong points, 30 minute time limit and many more, but usually "Destroy enemy base"). Thats a short rundown of Warfare

Don't press ALT-F4 then. I love it - its perfect for editing.
-
Topic says it all :) I've been wondering for a while - fragmentation vests, like the one the ArmA 2 USMC riflemen use, why aren't they camoflaged like the rest of the uniform? Doesn't it stick out quite a bit, with that brownish color??

So is Super Powers the new Warfare?
Binary replied to aussieterry84's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Yep - It's warfare. It's quite buggy at the moment, but I think we can expect BIS to fix this in patches. -

Do we have any information about patch 1.02 fixing the SECOP module for use on MP-Dedicated servers? -
.. How can it be the game's fault, that you get errors after upgrading to a newer driver? That's clearly nVidia's fault.
-
You're quite right, sorry - I remembered it as being the description.ext :) It is indeed in the init.sqf.
-
Well - guess I'm the fool then ;)
-
Stars.. Aren't they pretty? Yes - well not when i put on Night Vision :( Specs: E6600 @ 2.9 GHz 4GB RAM ATI 4870 Catalyst 9.6 Patch 1.01
-
1.) unpbo mission file 2.) open description.ext 3.) change rank-scores to 0 4.) re-pbo 5.) voila
-
Just open the description.ext and change all the rank-scores to 0. Worked for me.

1.6 ghz duo, 100 mbit connection, useful?
Binary replied to granQ's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Yep - it really is all dependent on the load. As long as you don't do Warfare/Evolution/Domination/Other-enourmous-stuff you should be fine. For a "small" COOP server the requirements really aren't that great. -
Best windows for Arma 2: XP / Vista / Seven ?
Binary replied to vento's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I'd so go 7. With a system as new as your own, I don't think you'd see a positive FPS gain from going to XP. -
Hey dude - welcome to the forums. Keyboard commands are almost identical to ArmA and a liiiittle different from OFP. So far - the only difference from ArmA that I've spotted is that "V" no longer brings up the optics, but is used for jumping over small obstacles. Numpad 0 can be used instead of the old "V" button. I mainly use my G11 custom keys for Vehicle commands: Outline: G7 G8 G9 G10 G11 G12 G7 = "-" (zoom out) G8 = "+" (zoom in) G9 = "f" (change weapon/rate of fire) G10 = "right-shift + m" (gps) <- This has to be done as a macro, there needs to be a short delay between commands. G11 = "m" (map) G12 = "numpad 0" (optics)

Just stumpled across this - and must say, this looks very handy ! I will definitely be following this project closely ! Keep up the good work ! -
If no gunners are present they are in a front position and are great for suppressing infantry and light vehicles. Edit: When using "manual fire", of course.
-
1) No 4) However - unlike ArmA 1 you don't need an extra cd-key for the server if you install ArmA 2 normally on the server. That can save you quite a few headaches.

PMC Apache v1.1 for ArmA 2 has been released!
Binary replied to Snake Man's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I really like it actually.. It's a good placeholder - I mean, it took ages for a proper AH-64 to be released for ArmA 1 - might as well have something meanwhile. -
Dude just buy it from petergames, download it and get the language mod.. It's not as bad as the CZ/German ArmA 1 releases.
