FGM-148 Javelin, can we fix it?
PTV-Jobo replied to AlexVestin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Oh yeah! That might be a good solution actually for tracking! :) Yeah here's hoping. I also liked how with Mando's scripts from ArmA 1 and 2 was the ability to force lock on things such as bunkers or on the ground near a enemy vehicle that was engine off and empty. -
Hi nKey. I have a stupid question, but you talk about TS's PTT for Direct Speech. Will this work if you use voice activation for a more natural feel, or do you 100% have to assign a key for TS's Push To Talk key for direct speech?

FGM-148 Javelin, can we fix it?
PTV-Jobo replied to AlexVestin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Either ACE or Mando's Javelin system (God, how I miss Mando's Jav setup... <sigh>) had similar tracking view as I believe it's proper. I had zero difficulties tracking and locking, so I highly doubt this will have a negative impact on "playability" unless someone is playing @ 800x600. I prefer a properly made Javelin system than a nerfed basic version any day. Sorry, but I can't agree. -
Nice find. I chipped in $20. If funds work out in the future I might change it to $50-$100 before the KS ends. Hopefully more will chip in as it'll be a great help for sound modders out there having to endure working with degraded combat footage sounds, etc and who aren't fortunate (or rich) enough to live somewhere where they have full access to a range, proper recording equipment and of course tons of weaponry the size of FPS Russia or something, heh.

COD-Like Units addon - WIP.
PTV-Jobo replied to g00d69's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Yeah, looks really good so far. I'd play with 'em for sure! :) -
Yeah no probs. Trust me, I get equally frustrated playing against the AI who are quite aggressive, but are also sounding as if they are all around me every time a firefight kicks off. Talk about making you feel paranoid, haha. So I'm hoping to get LJ to look into and tackle it. Situational awareness with the sounds were definitely better in A2 when they fired even in buildings.

This is the thread for our Studio's project, please keep on track. If you want a link for someone elses project, you can easily request it in said thread or via PM. Thanks. :) Secondly, the positional issues I need to discuss with LJ when he's actually around and able to discuss said topic. Some of us have been testing the Dev version of the latest JSRS on the JSRS server and have noted some issues. This is probably on the top of my list. Especially with the inside building sounds, its extremely difficult to pinpoint a general direction as right now you're engulfed in the stereo sounds and really can't tell very well at all where you're getting shot from many times. In some respects, it adds to the stress in a firefight--especially in an urban environment--but playability is a bit stifled which ruins it. So yes, even we are aware of it and will tackle it eventually.

That video almost made me spit my coffee on my screen when I laughed, lol. Thanks for the advise, I'll try it out. :D

I was wondering--now, I'm sure a lot will roll their eyes and hate me--however, for my own curiosity....is it possible in general without BIS's technical intervention to slow down the walking speed a little if someone wanted to? Or is speed hardcoded?
-
Just watched your video. All I can say is THANK YOU! I'm so happy being able to use the other walking anim, as like you said in the video it looks so much better instead of that annoying one-handed pimp walk. I mean it's not that horrible, but for patrolling and such, this animation looks much better and fitting.

How the hell did I manage to miss that?! Ugh! Sorry for being such an idiot, Rob. that's probably why. *embarrassed*

Running FHQ, TMR, RH's M4's. Using this plus the corresponding optionals for said weapons only, it doesn't appear to be working on the latest non-Dev for me as well. Tried putting RH's accessories on my MX I was given on start, but nothing was going on except the standard BIS stuff.
-
That's certainly not normal for ArmA 3. I don't have that at all. This looks like someone jacked up the contrast and brightness.
-
Awesome! I miss the good ol' days shooting at Tali-tubbies on Takistan and other various Afghan-style maps. No offense to BIS and their great work on A3, but I never could get into the whole NATO vs futuristic looking Iranian super-soldiers in Greece. I prefer the Afghan stuff, and this helps to fill that void. Thanks for the release! :D

This is the proverbial cross sound modders tend to carry--it's difficult to please everyone all the time. I've tried the mod myself and have been impressed. LOVE the sonic cracks and explosions hands down. My only hope is BP doesn't burn himself out trying to please everyone and feel forced to constant change everything all the time. Otherwise he'll be stuck in a never ending loop of hell. Anyways, bravo on the releases. Really good stuff. :)

[Template] Make your own fob by Ei8ght V 1.0
PTV-Jobo replied to ei8ght's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Awesome release, bud! :D -
There are indeed explosions. Don't start worrying, thinking JSRS 2.5 will only have rifles and forgot everything else. JSRS has and always will cover everything--Boom-boom's included. ;) As far as the video is concerned, it was merely a quick recording and nothing official. Our studio will probably put together an official video once everything is finalized and time allows. Until then, you'll have to just wait on any release right now as things are still being internally tested on our JSRS Studios server that Phil was so kindly enough to put together for the team.

Nice to see a thread about this. Been noticing 40mm rounds are useless compared to ArmA 2. AI just do their little twerk-n-wobble and skip away. I use to love using a UGL in ArmA, now it's left me pretty much feeling it's a waste.
-
You posted a picture of the new Cobra helmets that Denmark are using. Norway as far as I know do not use them nor are they "old" and fairly recent.

As usual with any mod here: "when it's done." :p

I happen to know Robert accepts Paypal. Thanks for offering to fund his project!

AAF+civies (retexture of Vilas addons)
PTV-Jobo replied to topas's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I cannot believe all this time I completely missed this thread!? This stuff looks amazing! I'm glad the AAF are getting some major love shown and with some amazing work and textures! AAF has to be my favorite faction in A3 and always disappoints me going into a coop and end up BLUFOR. :\ Maybe this project will start nudging people into always relying on American forces and start seeing the AAF have potential to be pretty cool and fun to use. Wish you all the best on your project, they are looking G-R-E-A-T! :) -
DarkGiver's Armory : SIG 55x PACK for Arma3. V1.0 is out !
PTV-Jobo replied to DarkGiver's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Well allow me to be the actual helpful one here. Give Dennis/LJ a shout privately on here or head over to jsrs-studios.com directly to place a request. I'm sure we can fix you up with something. We understand how stressful and time consuming modding can be and that sometimes it's difficult to please everyone. :) -
Serious injuries (graphic) - gore/violence
PTV-Jobo replied to Michaelp800's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
As long as BIS helps the community somehow to allow the community the ability to add such things to whatever extent is possible on the engine, I would be a happy little hamster. I know BIS is not keen on doing such things, and I think they already said they had no interest in pursuing it. But again, while that may be the case, at least throwing the community a bone or two so we can achieve it on some level would be nice. -
STALKERGB's British Infantry
PTV-Jobo replied to STALKERGB's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Congrats on the release, bud. Tried them today after ArmA updated. They came out great, and as someone else said the texturing and colors work great on the map. A friend and I were doing some 1v1 pvp goofing off and one thing we noticed was we couldn't see each other enough to shoot at. Only when one of us couldn't take the pressure and tried running did we spot each other, lol. Was even worse when hiding in those really tall plants on Altis. He was prone and I kept walking past him because unlike other A3 units, he blended in perfectly. Haha. Bravo, bud. You deserve it, job well done. :D
