    We did it back in the day for ArmA2. My US Marines in A2 use the same vest (ala, the vest in these dudes). But regardless, you're welcome.

  3. You're missing one very crucial piece... it's an ArmA2 port. And the 'two new jets' if one of them is the F-35, that'll be a port too.

Hey guys, Well after going through these forums a lot I've been seeing many people posting asking questions about what lod's to change to get my Infantry working in A2, what they have to change in the config etc. etc. Well I had some free time this evening so I whipped this up. It's the basic soldier.p3d from the BI sample release for ArmA1, converted into ArmA2 specifications. I've changed the rvmat to the new "super-shader" rvmat, as well as added the _smdi map. The model.cfg and config.cpp are included and working in ArmA2. There is also a pbo included where you can test and see the unit in game. The model is unbinarized so anyone can edit it as they please. This should save you a lot of time because you won't have to change the Geometry, Memory, Fire Geometry, and hit point lods. And you won't have to change the NVG proxies, or the hands. Everything's ready for you to use in ArmA2!     Under BLUFOR click the NATO tab. A drop down will appear and you will see the faction for them. It'll have an american flag and say something like US ARMY (IND US).

    Release hasn't impressed me. It's the same thing as beta, with almost no new content but that was to be expected. I'm still upset about the campaign, but what really is grinding my gears is the fact that there are still bugs that haven't been fixed. Steam ticket issues and crashes as well as massive desync when dynamic spawning AI in MP. Bugs like crashing in steam multiplayer, something that was supposed to be oh so much better than gamespy and the way of the future? I pity anyone who pays $60 for this.

    For the sake of mission makers everywhere, FIA needs to be back on INDFOR. Or at least, have insurgents as INDFOR with the BLUFOR ones.

    In theory he could. They already use my Eagle SPC from my US Marines in ArmA2.

    To be fair Altis is not a bad map, do not get me wrong. One of the best in the series, my issue is it still feels like in some areas that it's just a satmap from google with some objects placed down, and then there's the random performance issues for people. Some people it's unplayable, others it is playable, and others its right in between.

    Sadly, it's the state of the game right now. Some people are reporting this problem and others aren't... I never had the issue. Will have to wait for either release or a few months after release when performance issues get fixed.

    Playable? Why do I crash on Altis when trying to test a multiplayer mission and have Steam ticket issues? You mean, high quality recycled and cloned vehicles. Units are another story, they aren't terrible. Although vests are a bit cloned. Two playgrounds are good, I give you that. Although Altis has a feel of a SATMAP from real life with some buildings popped on it. Fully working and versatile mission editor... lol we've had that since OFP in 2001. Campaign is on its way? What campaign! You mean the "Free DLC Episodes" that are going to be released? That's not a damn campaign.

    It's still alive after all of these years, and it will continue to stay alive. It's the best place for mission makers to get together.

    It would be nice to have more variety in the faces by default. Once the head meshes are made the textures are made. So the 'hard to make' argument doesn't work. A variety of them would highly benefit campaign and story-driven mission makers immensely.

  19. I use the old one when making cutscenes to get the camera position and such. The same way its been done since arma1. I tried to use the new camera but when I left clicked to get the coordinates and tried to paste them into a text document to the be put in my intro.sqf file nothing came up. But the old camera way worked. I may have done something wrong on my end regarding the splendid camera however.
