  1. I'm curious on what possible solutions we can have on the hacker epidemic.  The ENTIRE KFC community has a wonderous vendetta against all other gamers and seems to have had ARMA on its hitlist and have made repeated attacks.  Due to the valiant efforts of BI they have held back the storm.

What more can we do?  Suggestions?

  2. I'm sorry then for being blind.  I guess they beat the sales numbers of BF2?  omg.

ArmA must be the most absolutely bug free, perfect "mil-sim" game out there.  I mean, the content is amazing!  The storyline COMPLETELY blows OFP out of the water and the content is 10x better!  All those vehicles/weapons in OFP made it in ArmA SO easily, and so many great "features!"

Bohemia's anti-hacker support is wonderful!  Even now, they struggle to make any new hacks right?

The multiplayer community is in the millions!  Even CS, that ancient game, cant compete!  My god, I can't find even a dozen servers open for me to play in!

Even the forums display the elation!  Look at the number of praises!  Then look at the complaints!  They look at the problems, then they solve it!  OMG, I'm so glad I didnt have to dl anything for all those addons, the default ArmA is awesome for the $50 I spent!

Again, I apologize for being so blind at ArmA's perfection.  All hail BI!  They deserve it!  I'm sure they feel the same way.

  3. Apparently, they dont get that money.  Apparently, the people that make VBS 2 dont make ARMA 2.

For some information, here's the official reply to my thread regarding a similar question that has been officially locked/closed:

Quote[/b] ]Placebo wrote:  BIS develop games and are developing the announced ArmA2, BIA develop military simulators, end of.

Therefore, BIS never gets the money that BIA earns right?  That should also mean that BIS and BIA never use the same resources and personnel as well correct?  Confused yet?  I sure am.  Hope someone could clear this up for me.

  4. I'm looking at the official website of VBS 2 and ponder what I see in the near future.  I see dedicated "expensive" software being sold to the military with VBS 2 being $1500, with addons for each skin/weaponry costing $50 each.

All those tools/skins/models that we seem to want and the addon community labor over, all seem to already exist in the VBS 2 library and are possibly even profitting from it.  It looks to me that it is possible that the people that are creating this game may simply just abandon the creation of ARMA 2 for the obvious cash they can make from the militaries of the world for argueably the same product.

Will ARMA 2 ever see the light of day?  Will they dedicate themselves only for the contractor work and shun the OFP community(lol)?  What do you think?

  5. Quote[/b] ]also quite shocked noone mentioned OH-58 Kiowa helicopter

fit's any scenario for scouting and they still serve

Why did no one ask for the kiowa?  Well, the answer is the only one able to truly use radar in the game is the AI.  They can actually read the miniradar and then network their findings to every other AI like they always do.  Even then, it would be downed by a T72 or UAZ from a mile or two away.  Until things get fixed, i think a MH-6 will do.

UAV's would be an absolute great addition in the game.  Camera controls w/various viewing modes (FLIR comes to mind) sounds absolutely awesome!  I just hope that flies correctly lol.

Either way, I stress the fact that they are indeed selling an enhanced version (VBS2) as an actual armed forces combatant war fighter simulation system to several foreign countries for the low low price of $1500.  I'm finding it funny that you have to pay $50 for another skin.  I hate to say this but I'm getting depressed as I read on.

  6. I'm sure its all been said before, but what's the harm in saying it all again?  I'm quite sure this thread may end up closed or ignored all together anyway.

    Soldier's tools:

    shotguns

more than one type of LMG/GPMG for each side

the ability to actually use the bipod on that LMG/GPMG

    assault rifle selection from OFP

    2 more smgs/pdws/pistols

    a true carl gustav/recoilless rifle

    antipersonnel mines

mortars/artillery that actually work and have animations

    some actual civilian weapons

    A god damned knife

    Soldiers themselves:

    AI that works

NO superior russian conscript training that would destroy all Western capitalists(Non superhearing, full auto snipers with xray vision)

    Air:

C-130 or  Eastern bloc equivalent w/paratrooper, cargo, vehicular delivery

    the chinook

    Huey

    The god damned Hind

    Perhaps a glider

    vehicular airlift

    Vehicular:

    Previous selection of OFP vehicles

    Other NATO vehicles/tanks(more variety please)

    Self propelled artillery

    Gepard/Tunguska AA vehicles

    Open/closure of doors

    No flying/bouncing tanks

50 cal vulnerablity to bmps/other light armor like in real life

Make amphibious armor actually amphibious, the stryker IS amphibious you know?

Have AI the ability to actually have the sight of an actual crewman, not have 360 supervision(a gunner can see behind his turret, see an infantryman hugging the hull, and have superzoom)

    Mounted, static:

    Sandbags, in a better way

    A flak gun

    AA missile mounts

    Again artillery/mortars that work correctly

    concrete pillbox

    trenches

    Other:

    one or two naval vessels

swim with weaponry intact (seals/marines do it all the time)

    fast roping, big must

    a better healing system

    climbing, jumping?

    ability to construct more things

    Resistance like campaign/system

  7. Apparently there are approximately 100 vehicles in the game, and quite possibly the same amount of small arms.  Again, one of the best things about the OFP series was the way Resistance offered continuity of personnel and equipment obtained(most of them anyway).  I would personally love another gigantic tank battle using the enemy's own armor against them!  Or perhaps customize the loadout of my team before a big mission using weaponry retrieved in earlier missions.

In real life I'm sure that works just as fine as a feasible concept lol.

It would be lovely to again commandeer tanks, scavange for weaponry, and hell, possibly even change uniforms.  I'm sure whoever is making ARMA 2 is capable of doing this as Resistance, an addon, was so well created.

However if you do, plz make IFF alittle more difficult for the AI.  A captured tank, or a soldier from a mile away looking just like your buddies should be recognized as such until they start shooting.  Of course, I'm asking for the sky to turn neon pink.

Feedback?  Is this idea TOO radical?  TOO much to ask for?

  8. Sorry, new around here. And my connections glitchy which dont help. No search sorry. Just wondering if we can swim, instead of just sinking. Ya know, it was just kinda annoying in OFP. whistle.gif
