    Hey guys, congrats on the already released content, really huge despite "only" a demo version. I don't have time to read through every bug report, but for some reason the mod screws up vanilla Mi-8 MTV-3 and Su-25 models.

    Well, Eddy did already a tremendous job and you just can't stop sending him into the meatgrinder again? :) Nice additions anyways, I think these will bring enough heat for the Takis. Besides static SAM launchers that was mentioned before, I think only some medium transport plane is missing only from their inventory (An-24/26?), but I don't want to ask Eddy do that :D

    Well I hope that there'll be some new equipment made in the meantime, maybe some of them aren't ready to be shown and these are placeholders, although I give a little chance for this. Although the story has some drawbacks, one couldn't make a fully "realistic" story, or you won't make the everyday SP gamer any feeling of achievement. Getting a guerrilla group completely defeated only by capturing one (or two or three) of the leaders won't stop it, we all know that there would always be somebody to take the "throne". But would you like to play a campaign story which never has an ending? It takes a lot of talent to make such a story work well, and we all know how much people were disappointed with the somewhat deepened, but underdeveloped story of the Arma 1 campaign. Some things are better left as simple as possible to make it work. Russian settlers: Russia (as was the USSR) is a multi-ethnic country, with dozens of different people and cultures, with 27 different official languages beside of Russian. In the modernization era of the Soviet Union (late 1920s-1950s), it was common that when a new mine/factory/other kind of industrial enterprise opened in an area where the majority of people weren't Russian, then Russian workers went there to get jobs, so basically they weren't the indigenous people in those areas, but rather were "settlers". So it's not as "unreal" as some of you think.

    Well... the Il-2 Sturmovik series had its last expansion called 1946, and it was full of aircraft which either didn't ever saw any combat action, didn't get past prototype state or even only existed on schematics (MiG I-250, Yak-15, Do-335, Ho-229 aka Ghota, Lerche....), there were scenairos where players could pit Me-262s against P-80s, which didn't ever happen...Nobody complained about it, although the Il-2 community is also a mature, hard-core simulation fanatic base. Maybe they found it interesting to "drive" some other exotic planes other than Bf-109/P-39/Yak-9. There'll be a lot of Apaches, there'll be a lot of mods for it that will cover today's accurate equipment, if not anything else one might be able to port Arma 1's mlods into A3.

    I don't really care what the setting will be, if we'll have adequate AI, good optimization & frame rates, interesting new technologies like render-to-texture or dynamic view distance (I couldn't give a crap about shooting out of vehicles though, what are we having the mounted weaponry for?), updated animations, more enterable buildings and anything more that I don't think of right now, then I won't mind if the setting for ArmA 3 would be in the pre-historic ages or in 2142. The first mods will feature M16s and AKs, I'd bet my balls on it, but gentlemen won't bet on sure things :D

    I remember a scene from "Lord of War" when Nick Cage's character was explaining how he sold Israeli weapons for muslims (and communist ones to fascists), and a black man shoot Reagan's portray into pieces with an UZI. Looks more like a QZB-95/FAMAS hybrid to me.

    Maybe they aren't Iranians, but some fantasy OPFOR nation based on various countries, like before in the ArmA series (except for Russia see: North Sahrani, Chernarus, Takistan - maybe Ardistan will be next?). We still didn't see an up-close pic about that flag on the OPFOR soldiers, so we can't tell if it is really an Iranian flag, maybe it's just resembling the current Iranian flag in colours. So far we saw them with Asian and Middle-Eastern facetypes, Israeli made small arms and vehicles, a Mi-24/Mi-28/Ka-52 mix, an Oshkos M-ATV. Maybe we should push off a little from absolute real countries, and let our fantasy loose a bit...

As someone who's not into modeling very much, may I ask if this feature will make their work any easier when making new soldier/weapon (or better just parts) models?     ArmA3 Wishlist and Ideas

    What if I want to explore places on the map on my very own? What if I want to make a "deserted city" scenario? What if you make a a mission about a conventional conflict - not an asymmetric - with civilians largely absent from the AO? What if someone wants to make post-apocalyptic/zombie type missions? What if the unnecessary wondering civilians uses up a lot of resources of my not very up-to-date config? I'd say the modules are quite good ideas, we can keep them, and it takes 2 clicks to put one on the map
  17. Sounds, in the context of both A1 and A2. I never used any soundmod for OFP, they were just right, everything had it's simple, diverse and distinguishable sound, when you heard the threatening sound of a jarring BMP, when you heard the M60s open up, ect. I don't mean to bring back OFP sounds though, but a similar achievemnt.

    Why is this game not more popular?

    I think this unfortunately links here, the bigger console market grows on the head of PC games in a bigger extend every year. Ten-six years ago there was a big quality difference between PC and console games, but since the second half of the 2000s, game developers spend less and less to please the more quality demanding PC market. I give you some examples. GRAW was made as a TPS action shooter for consoles, for PC (I know they didn't reach to the original) they made bigger levels, they've added tactical map, more realistic weapons and overall made the campaigns much more realistic. Nowadays the console overgrew PC so much that it doesn't worth for these big game companies to care about the PC-gamer minority, see Modern Warfare 2 and its lack of dedi servers. I'm happy that there are a few vertebrate companies like BI and 1c Maddox Games who seemingly don't forget about the PC.

    Maybe the MEC from BF2 have invaded the Armaverse...But the only side confirmed here is NATO, and yet we don't know crap about what else will be. On a sidenote, 300 graphic novel and movie are purely entertaining assets, based on a historic event, it doesn't aim to recreate the exact happenings. Now we should leave it alone before it turns into a thread-jack.

    It's probably not going to happen (content porting of A1/A2 to A3), but I would be happy if I would turn out to be wrong. It would be lovely to see A1/A2 worlds with all buildings enterable and using the proposed destruction effects, paired up with an improved CQB AI behaviour. But those are only dreams....

    Remove the blinding sun in A3 please

    Well the problem is mainly not with the sun itself, but the lightning system as mentioned before. It's true you can't just stare into the sun IRL and it's ok your visible is hindered when looking at it. I have other problem, like when you walking in a dense forest in Chernarus, and the sky is visible in any proportion, then your surroundings go extremely dark, and when you turn your view so the sky isn't visible, the surroundings will lit up very much. I've been walking around in forests, but it wasn't that dark if the blue sky was in my field of view for sure.

    Hell Yeah! :D @Liquidpinky I think you quoted the wrong post :) About this F2000 misery.... As I said before, I'm dead sure there will be gazillions of M4s and HK416s and SCAR addons, if not anywhere else then it'll be included in ACE3 (I hope :)), so I don't care about what content will ArmA 3 have. I would be most happy if -again- the USMC would be featured, but that patrone had been used up once. I don't think less people will buy this game if they don't include a footnote next to the F2000's description that "Those nice dudes from the Paracommando Brigade lend them to us Green Berets" will seriously degrade the sellings of the title. I don't remember anybody did not bought OA because US Army guys inaccurately use SF (SCAR, M3 MAAWS) and USMC (M32 MGL) weapon systems. Let BI make the core game very well optimized and advanced, then let the addonmakers unleash everything else on us.

    Razor Two

    It might be just for me, but with the latest patch (not beta) this mission doesn't play the cutscene when you capture Bardak. The task of capturing Bardak gets fulfilled, but it just doesn't play the damn cutscene....
