I guess there are more who are interested than the ones making pranks. I don't really know what is in the background of the jokes, but I guess it's not because of pure viciousness. I liked your uparmored Humvee for ArmA and I'm curious what you might bring us for ArmA 2. -
FlexiAI (WIP) discussion
Banderas replied to fabrizio_t's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Fabrizio After watching your videos I still trying to find my jaw under the desk :D I have to remark something: it is clear to me that in your work unit skill will have a great impact on detecting/spotting range, accuracy, reaction time. However it is unclear for me if using tactics (assesting enemy force, flanking, taking better positions, holding ground, charging, retreating, ect...) will be effected by the skill level. On your vids I saw things from the perspective of SF operators engaging insurgents (?). However I didn't really see what the enemy was trying to do (seemingly turned tail and ran into the sea :) ). It is very nice to see the AI get improved, but what about the "dumbness-factor"? In an assimetric conflict you won't engage an Erwin Rommel- or Casey Ryback-clone on every corner of the city, you will very likely run into "tactically dumb" people who doesn't know if "flanking" is being ate or drunk. Now I don't ask anything from you to do, I would just like to know how will AI skill affect the use of tactical decisions, or will the AI have a "panic-factor" when he runs away, or when it "misjudges" its tactical situation and makes a bad decision. -
VILAS addons release thread

One question concernig the Eotechs: isn't the reticule supposed to be a little bit over the front sight of the M4/M16, and not exactly on the tip? I aks because in most games I saw them "overthesight"-positioned, but I didn't have the chance to check it on a real sight. -
Nice update Binkowski Sir, keep them coming ;)

Thanks a lot. I don't have a f*/in' idea how did I manage to put the A1 version into A2, but I'll fix it up
-
I'm only seeing the two USAF versions in the editor, also I can only put it on map empty. When I put it simply from the BLUFOR list, I get a CTD and a fault message prompting "Invalid crew SoldierWPilot". What did I do wrong?

Nogovan Armed Forces Project WIP
Banderas replied to R0adki11's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
You Mister, are digging in my thoughts :) I had a "screenplay" in my head for something similar, that the three islands are forming a sort of "federal republic". I searched for some background information, and I remember reading about Nogovan and Everon people having a strong relation to each other (many Nogovians fled to Everon in the '70s, when the communist ruled it). Also, the three island are relatively close to each other, and they might be situated near the Baltic states (read something about the closest NATO base is in Estonia). Also I wrote some rough draft about a modern day Nogovian-Everon army, and I basically modelled them after the armies of the Baltic states (battalion to regiment sized core units with modern western equipment, and smaller territorial defence forces with second-rate western equipment and/or reserved Russian/Warsaw Pact made weaponry). It didn't went through theoretical phase, because I'm not a modeller (and I don't think I'll ever be), but seems you'll make some of my thoughts embodied :pc: So I think western weapons like G36(KV), M16/M4, and G3 series would get along well with the AK-47/AKM line. Just pleeeease don't make the AK-74 (and the other 5,54mm weapons) the basic weapon for them, as far as I know they aren't very common in Central- and Eastern European countries. In the meantime I found the articles at the OFP wiki I have some of my starting infos from: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Malden http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Nogova http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Everon http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Kolgujev -

Ask Vilas, he's been done some of those for ArmA (Project 85), and I think he will port it to ArmA 2. -
More than probably ACE 2 will have Mk16/17 SCARS, Operation Arrowhead will have them for sure.
-
Nice work Nixo, hope to see them released soon :)

There probably will be a lot of these weapons in ACE 2, and it's confirmed that ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead will include FN SCAR. f you can't wait for them a few months, then get ACE mod for ArmA 1. -

Sorry for replying lately (and thanks Elbe for clearing things :)). Because I think it would be good to use for support in great scale amphibious landings, not just with the cannons, but also with it's Tomahawk rockets. They were used up until Desert Storm, and would be good not just for WWII, but for OAC, Project 85 or even modern scenarios. And just to give some diverse ideas for addon makers. -

how about this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iowa_class_battleship -
Maybe the question doesn't really belong here, excuse me please for this, but how can I remove the backpack radios for AI units? If I make a mission where one side is lets say a group of badly organised rebels or gangster group or police officers, it would seem odd for them to have a field radio on their back

Language mod for 'locked' language versions
Banderas replied to wiper's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Thank you Wiper for this work of yours, Hungarian translation is so much horrible that I'm positive BIS used "Google translate" for it. I didn't understand what the hell some sentences wanted to mean, words were just put behind each other without making any sense. (like Shakira's first songs in English - English speakers didn't understand what does she sing). A good example in the editor FireTeam Leader was translated to Tűzvédelmi osztag vezető (means Fire Extinghuisher group leader in english :D) -

Please excuse me for correction friend, but E/F models are used only by the Navy, Marines use the older C/D and A/B models until the F-35B will replace it completely, and they only going to change their EA-6s with EF-18Gs. So my wish for the Marines would be the F/A-18C/D Hornet. -

75th Ranger Regiment ACU Units (WIP of course xD)
Banderas replied to Binkowski's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Great Binkowski, I really liked your previous addons for ArmA (hope to see them ported to ArmA 2 someday). Altough my heart's tack (hope it's the correct term) is the USMC, I'm also a big fan of Army Rangers, so I'm really happy you make them. Blakhawkdown: repainting the MARPAT in ACU colors is not the best solution, the two has many differences, their cut is different, their pattern is slightly different, not to mention the Army uses other protecting equipment (IOTV instead of MTV, MICH helmet instead of Lightweight helmet) and that unit patches and insignias are worn by Soldiers, but not Marines. Better solution could be to port some addons from ArmA 1, Binkowski's and CameronMcDonald's units for example. -
Good to see you didn't give up working on this baby! Hoping to see it soon "in action" over Chernarus (and Nogova)

Plenty of addons make plenty of trouble...
Banderas posted a topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Hi everyone! For some time I've been working on a campaign (mostly existing on notes on my writing desk), and after a brief summarization I've concluded I might use way too much modules and addons. I don't know how much of you are using 2-3 mods simultaneously, so I would like to ask somekind of "demand-survey" from you, how much of you would play a mission with many additions. My intention is to try to make as much variety into the missions as possible, but I realized I have to draw the borderline somewhere. For some time I've been using ACE and FFN together, later I attached Project 85 (because of the many vehicles and weapons) to the inventory, upon them I use at least a dozen diferent addons, so far the list is: -CWR island pack -BB mercenaries -BB civilians -GNT V-22 -PRACS UH-1N -LLW L16 mortar -Cameron McDonald's 1st ID -Plasman's Modern Nogova Army (woodland units too) -Red Cottage's and Zguba's BTR-80 -Lowfly's editor upgrade -Generic LCU -BLND's Humvee pack -Not to mention Queen's Gambit... There are at least another dozen addons that I've planned to put into, but I think I should lower the number instead of adding anymore. My question is how many of you would try missions if so many stuff is required for them? Do you think it worth the time spent on making stuff like this?
