I've just quickly read the thread through (left some comments out), I saw some people recommended recreating the "original" OFP islands, I guess with the '85 settings. Well as Wolle said, they'll recreate them in CWR2, so I'm glad you decided to make something different out of it (if I understood well?), and make a rebuilt, advanced version, which did not see war for a good time. I don't know your thoughts about how you'll realize it, I think I share some of mine, and you'll consider them at your own will. Don't know what houses will be used, but I hope not original Flashpoint ones, they too much look like a SWAT team has been practiced in it a quarter hour ago, ArmA II or even houses from Northern Sahrani from ArmA would suit better. Everon: Some villages might turn into nice little cities, Morton and Saint Pierre would expand on the beach, with harbours, making them into frequent tourist visited places, with more and bigger block buildings in the center, some hotels. I could imagine a modern Montignac at least as big as Corazol (provided there is enough space for it). Villages along the St. Pierre-Montignac-St. Philippe highway (for example Durras, Vernon, Provins) might reflect more city life, while outlying settlements (like Le Moule, Chotain, Gravette) keep their country profile. Farms might also get one or two additional buildings. Also barracks and military installations should be kept and modernised for the "local army". Airport should reflect a smaller inernational civilian one. Malden: As it was a NATO area, it might keep that profile, with it's airport reflecting more a military airbase with a garrison near it, also with an extended base on the eastern island (the training island). Most villages should be only grow in (house)number, some would transform into small towns (example La Trinite). Kolgujev: First and most importantly, if possible make a separate winter version for that island(s), I always found it odd in OFP World when I went from Everon to Kolgujev, spring turned into winter within 10km :D. Other than that it could use at least one airfield, probably a military AFB. It might keep it's old profile with many military installations/garrisons, although a few farms and villages might get some life into it. At least some lumberjacks and hunters :) Nogova: Not much to tell right now. Needs size up as you said :) Hope I give some sane idea. Gotta go to bed now, later continue hopefully, keep faith and keep up the good work. -

I can confirm that AK47/AKM sound is missing for me for some reason. But M4A1 sounds are good for me. -

Agree with you, problem might be that the campaign did not employ a normal aircraft carrier in it, but on the logic that A-10 is included, they'd have include it too. I request F/A-18 A/C/D Hornets once a month, no luck so far :) -

Hey Mardigan I downloaded the islands and flew a few circles around it, and it seems to be the beginning of something wonderful, please accept my gratulations and convey it to your team too :) I've been lurking around the OFP islands for some time, planning around what type of missions can be made on them? Playing with them is like going back to an old elementary school of yours, time has it shrinken drastically. Everything that was so big once, became much smaller as time passed (and visibility distance increased :D). I felt that anything I'd make would overcrowd these worlds. I was thinking about, what would be if these islands would be a bigger in the same shape? Now they're here, gotten fat up, and grown some more hills on them :) Now they seem like areas where all kind of warfare can be conducted (armor, guerilla, infantry, you name the rest), but not where every territory can be conquered by just one type of those warfares. I can't even imagine where will it lead when they get forests, villages and cities. I think the more elevation will give many possibilites for new tactical challenges in future missions. Some drawbacks are present of course; first, the very steep shores currently make amphibious operations very difficult, I don't know if they'll be changed, or stay, or tide cycle will make some parts accessible; Second because of the bigger elevations, some areas became practically unusable but for sunbathing - thinking about for example the two "rocks" south of Everon; maybe they should just be left out, to spare some memory for the PC, or made flatter, so it actually can be reached with other means than a helicopter. I'm not recommending any changes, just storming my brain with thoughts. Keep up the good work, wish you luck! -

Maybe it should be like that, I heard because of the shorter barrel M4 makes bigger noise along with bigger muzzleflash. Anyway I like very much the new singleshot sound of the M4. -

Hey folks! Heard some of you want some M4s instead of the M4A1s for regular Army and Marines...well, until some better comes out, might try ad use this I thrown together. Update: added weaponbox, renamed classes. If you have previous version, please delete BAN_M4.pbo before installing 05.08.2010. update: added ACEX US Army class equipped with M4 Carbines. You can find them under BLUFOR -> ACE US Army -> Men (M4) M4 config for ACEX M4A1s by Banderas version: 0.6 Description: I hope I can fill some space in ArmA 2s armory that is missed by many community members. Simple config that adds M4 Carbines to the game, using ACEX weaponclasses, so regular US Army grunts can get their proper Semi-Burst weapons they supposed to have. As of right now I made the config only for "plain black" non-SOCOM weapon models without silencers - I don't think too many regular infantry and guardsmen are running around with silencers in the field. No ammobox yet, planning to do it for the next release! This is just a config file, I didn't touch any models/textures/original configs! Required addons: -CBA; -ACE; -ACEX Installation: put the BAN_M4.pbo into any custom modfolder of yours (recommended) or into "x:\...\ArmA 2\Addons" folder (not recommended). Weapon classnames: -BND_M4; -BND_M4_GL; -BND_M4_AIM; -BND_M4_AIM_GL; -BND_M4_RCO; -BND_M4_RCO_GL; -BND_M4_HWS; -BND_M4_HWS_GL; -BND_M4_TA01 - buggy, fires full auto All of them are using the same mags as ACEX M4A1s (BIS STANAGs, ACE STANAGs, M203 rounds...). Known bugs: -M4s use M16 sounds in burst fire mode; -Burst firing sound plays all three shots, independently of how much bullet is really fired (like good ol' OpF days M16); -ACE "CQB-switching" on ACOG equipped models are missing; -since it uses existing models, they have the "M4A1" designation on them. Future plans: -hopefully to fix the above bugs; -make an ammobox for the weapons; -make an euipment config for US Army addons; -add M4 with TA01NSN to the pack with working CQB sights; -if required, to make a config for vanilla M4A1s. @CL5057BL Currently most of the west weapons are not in any ammobox, you may find them in the hands of infantry, you have to download the weaponholders pack, you will find them at class "Weaponholders (BLUFOR)", in it you'll find several factions, you most probably will find M14 in the hands of "(VIL) Woodland units" --> "soldier (M14)". -

Sfc Itzhak made his CH-46 and CH-53 walkable in the interior, but that caused some major problems with the landing of the chopper - they didn't land, but hovered 2 meters over the ground. -

@Victim913 Vilas's new western weapon pack will contain some Tavor models, ask him about it, maybe (if he has time and energy) he'll do one with a GL.
