The price is pretty much the max I'm willing to pay. -
F, maybe a G, I'd say... seems to have the longer kind of propellor hub installed. Very nice piece of work, can't wait to get to fly that thing.

The graphics and the gameplay are quite outdated nowadays, to say atleast, but it's still an atmospheric game, especially if you got a few good people on TS and you're playing together, coop preferably. The mods help a lot, and on more difficult settings a pair of Ghosts has a helluva lot to do.

eV, not V... different measure to be exact, eV's are used to measure energy, just like joules - at a very low scale, though, since we're talking about single electrons here. Of course, at those energies the currencies are quite... "nice" also. Although oddly enough, the same unit is quite commonly used as a measure of mass also in particle physics (via E=mc^2)... what a fun subject. Cheers for putting that up, wouldn't have prolly noticed it otherwise.

In a very limited scale I must say... we never really got around making the addons, although quite a few ideas were drawn up (mainly the economics and military layout and mil equipment), worked upon, tried and some stuff was even completed, although at a very, very minor scale. It's been pretty much dead for more than a while now but there's a slight chance of resurrection maybe... dunno. I am a tad drunk atm so not the best person to comment I guess despite being one of the more active members associated.

having all the facetex2 faces.
BlackScorpion replied to LYCANTHROPE's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
It's a config-run script as far as I know... can't remember exactly, but if you open the config and compare few Facestex2 units you should get some results. Been a while since I've done any config/model editing myself so might be wrong but I'm quite certain about it. -
BBC News It's going to be an official Guinness World Book of Records attempt over the span of 24 hours... Can't wait to, erm, help them. Having used the Beta version of FF3 for some weeks now I'm eager to get the new thing - the browser bar annoys me a tad since it only keeps a dozen websites listed, instead of everything entered in it, but otherwise I'm quite fin with it... it's quite smooth. Flock isn't bad either, especially for a Facebook/YT/Flickr user, but I like my darker FF theme. Oh and so that you could get the thing itself... http://www.spreadfirefox.com/en-US/worldrecord/firefox3

Red orchestra: Darkest Hour released!
BlackScorpion replied to SHWiiNG's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
Is there a new patch out or what? Most of the servers don't let me play due to wrong version (installed 1.0a and Foy), and, well, RO AI is "a bit" dull, especially as they're supposed to drive Higgins boats to the shore and disembark from them... Â EDIT: Seems to be the 1.0b hotfix... released today. http://forums.darkesthourgame.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3387 -
You pretty much won't find a modern fighter jet without afterburners installed. Raptor can supercruise at around Mach 1.6 I think, thanks to the internal weapons storage used most of the times (external hardpoints can be fitted, reducing performance). Maximum speed of over Mach 2.2 and maximal fighting performance is achieved with afterburners, though... it's actually able to accelerate upwards, and AFAIK is able to reach the sound barrier even in a prolonged 90 degree climb with a small loadout.

Ctrl+H, people? Over 8 million seems to be the FF result then, we'll see what Guinness people report back. Currently the number is coming to 9.1 million downloads, roughly 27-28 hours after release if I got the maths right.

Real Life Photography/Photo Editing II - NO IMAGES >100kb
BlackScorpion replied to Major Fubar's topic in OFFTOPIC
Yeah, got the Canon 50/1.8, which only costs about 100 euros... usually a tad less to be exact. Quite nice, when (/if) I get the Sigma lens my slowest lenses (that I'll use, since the kit is now broken) will both be 2.8... -

BlackScorpion replied to Major Fubar's topic in OFFTOPIC
Dunno... the 2.8 gives a nice flexibility on its own. Took this shot around last Christmas, at around 19.30 - which in Finland means there's basically no ambient light left, apart from the possible moon. The shot was taken at the town's main plaza, so there of course were some lamps. Underexposed it (shot in RAW so easy to boost up) and shot it at ISO800, but got a nice, fairly sharp result at 125 mm (plus the camera crop factor of 1.6x; the image is uncropped) and 1/100 secs (I think)... handheld. Possibly going to a music festival this weekend (forgot to buy tickets so nearly double the price), we'll see how that turns out. Next weekend it's an airshow with some Sukhois... haven't yet decided what to do lense wise, whether to go with the 150 mm or to get a Sigman 1.4x or 2.0x converter... or a new lense. Gonna buy a new "kit" tho', as the old one lost its AF function thanks to few fast Mirages and some pavement. Prolly going for the Sigma 18-50/2.8 Macro (no HSM). -

BlackScorpion replied to Major Fubar's topic in OFFTOPIC
Well... that isn't exactly a problem. Although I do have one comment - HOLY SHIT, why didn't I go there! Â Should give you some idea of how nice the pics are. Â What kind of a lense did you use, gonna prolly look for something with sufficient lenght (>150 on a 400D) to fool around soon... hopefully a nice, sharp zoom with good f-number. We got the Pilot's Midsummer here in about 1.5 weeks... applied for a photographers pass just few hours ago, hopefully I'll get one. Missed it last year, and since it's only 10 euros... Would be feckin' cool to get to shoot the performers at the plate. Might have to get a hold of a wide angle for the Il-76 etc. tho'... -
Modern Combat - SLX Mod version 1.1
BlackScorpion replied to Big-Rooney's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
This mod won't work on OFP 1.0. It requires 1.96. No new mods will really work on 1.0. There are mods that will work on 1.0? -
I'd assume Amazon.ca sorta means Canada...
-
Well he is Finnish you know... we have a tendency for that. Cheers for the video, hadn't seen this before. Nice "glider" the guy has... quite brave, would love to get myself one of those!
-
I think it has 4, not 3 filters...

Holy... that's nice. The small bumbs at the bottom are a tad annoying but that aside... sweet. Spokesperson... it's not that much the camera as it is the optics. A good platform does help of course. Daddl, got the specs on that lens? I'd assume it to be in the 3.5-4.5 to 5.6 range when it comes to maximum aperture. I guess the quality is good up close (maximum image size)? Oh and how the hell can you autofocus with that thing, got 400D and it's a pain in the ass... well it's sufficient and I do have glasses (very slightly impaired vision), but I still trust the AF more. Nice shots tho', could see what I can come up with my 50-150/2.8 Sigma. Have taken some nice images lately - mainly birds. Motivation has been a bit low due to PC specs and low HD space, and the effort of editing and uploading large amounts of images, and because of the fact that I'd like to try portrait shots, preferably "birds" , but haven't had the chance or balls to ask. -
Yeah, GBU-27s are GBU-24s with slightly modified wings to fit into the bomb bay. Other weapons are the rest of the Paveway series and JDAMs. This gives some scale I guess... also few other good images there. And lest we not forget the good old Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:F-117A_Ramp.jpg
-
Keep in mind Ace Comabt also lets you equip an F-16 with 50+ missiles... the thing has hardpoints for 6. And no, the F-117 has very limited offensive capability - the usual - and maximum - load is two BLU-109 or Mk84 based GBUs. AFAIK the GBUs are the only weapons F-117 is wired for, saw the Sidewinders in 24 (...), but never read about HARMs and Mavericks. Besides, you need to fly fairly low for Mavericks (due to the seeker head's FOV).
-
F-117 has it's own IR camera and LD (no radar though) for selecting targets, so I guess it would make sense? Oh, and I'm not sure if any of you have noticed... the F-117 fleet was retired about two weeks ago.
-
Also, with DxDll, App + U removes the interface...
-
Yeah... not sure if there is any sight replacement pack around (check ofp.gamepark.cz for that), so you might have to make one yourself if you really want it... find the ones you like, extract them and replace the BIS ones with them. They'll be 2D anyways, but at least they'll look nicer. As for MP and mods, I think it should work... since it's basically just an unit replacement and shouldn't change the values. Of course, the FDF weapons sights wont be different unless you edit the FDF configs.

Operation Flashpoint 2 officially announced
BlackScorpion replied to imported_bör's topic in OFFTOPIC - Games & Gaming
Ooooh, lefties! -
Well, depends... HK416 is smaller externally, and supports more attachments; G36 is bigger in size but smaller IIRC, and it can be modified a fair amount too without any special work. Internally, both guns are basically exactly the same.
