    Dynamic Afghanistan

    If I had known what I was missing I'ld played this one before! This morning I had a first look at this mission and completed my first patrol mission. Just the right thing to start with. And I learned my first Afghanistan lesson very soon: be carefull in villages even when not marked as hostile. I lost one BRDM and the four men inside.  Sure enough the enemy had to pay and indeed they did pay... Well, this mission is really special. I very much like the idea and the way you've done it. This certainly has a bit of RPG (Role play game) and I allready feel like home at this airbase. To play the really nice VDV troopers is cool as well. It doesn't always have to be Americans againgst whoever. The Afghanistan island is looking much better than I thought. In fact it has a very nice, convincing and atmospheric landscape. Performance is very good. Don't know why I thought I don't like it - must have mistaken it with another desert island. But now I've got to return to duty on Afghanistan  Btw. a version with german BW Mod units would be appreciated...  Â

    Thanks. Unfortunately i haven't even had the time to play Dynamic Afghanistan yet. Shame on me! I guess i'ld better do this ASAP. As to the DAC: more mission testing was done yesterday. Of course there are editor example missions for the DAC allready but we are thinking abou going a step further and probably present a fully playable demomission as well. More on that later.

    Excuse my lack of knowledge: what exactly is CCE? Without knowing that, it's hard to say anything about hybrids. According to the readme of the DAC there are plans to incorporate external AI addons into DAC. Maybe this won't be before the initial release but sometime later. Let's see what the Maestro says....

    As promised before here's the second DC3 pack by Sniping-Jack! As Chneemann's mission Undercover is getting closer and closer to it's release so are some addons required for it. Our own DC3-pack is containing a Nogova, Drikar island and a special Black-Op variant of that classic plane. So step over to read the whole news and to download it. So have fun trying it out and maybe use it in your own missions!

    As promised, there's a whole lot of news and releases waiting for you in the next weeks. Today we've opend up the audio section at Mapfact Arts. At Mapfact Arts you will find music, videos and photographs concerning OFP, Mapfact.net and the team. We've already got two videos over there. Some time ago I had the idea to release our self produced music that some of the team members did for our missions. Since not everybody knows all the missions you now have the opportunity to get to know our members talents better.     To whom did you send your message? Maybe he didn't get it? But anyway here's my answer. Maybe we forgot to mention one or the other project but we certainly didn't forget any of our projects themselves! Â Â It's true there's some more DC3 in a special Mapfact.net version release date: not fixed yet but very soon. And it's true, too that Sniping-Jack is extensivly using his wrp tool currently... EDIT: I almost have forgotten to mention that we've got some more news on our site! We released an Action HUD complete with a coop demo mission done by MCPXXL. There's also a very detailed report on the progress of the Dynamic AI Creator by Silola, the maestro of the XCam-Console! For further information you're welcome to visit our news at www.Mapfact.net.

    Mapfact.net releases DC3 pack

    Thanks for your nice comments! Some points: sorry we haven't included neither a british nor a korean version. I'm quite sure T.S.C. Plage and Sniping-Jack are pretty relieved having finished at least this 14 planes. Additionally it's not really possible to do a really comprehensive pack. I'm not much into airplanes but as to OFP I guess the most important or usefull ones are in this pack. As to the landing gear: thanks for the hint. We'll take care of that.

    We have got an update for our oil addon. Additionally Flashpoint_K added two new objects to the oil addon:sewage pipes. You can use these sewage pipes in industrial facilities, in harbours or even as hiding places for snipers just to mention but a few. The patch also solves some minor bugs with the oil spills.     Just put all your gear, sound, respawn stuff on top of your description.ext. Add all the dialog code at the end of the file. Saves you much of scrolling! And please don't change any of the dialog  lines for that might cause errors.

    Mapfact.net has released an AI Addon made by SKY. SKY has mainly concentrated on the following essentials : - Initiating alarm after discovering the player/his unit or after finding a body. - Determine the reactions- of the AI-Units. - Calling and commanding of reinforcements. The unique and new feature on SKYs AI Addon is that you are able to change the huge amount of different settings by only one simple dialogue. So now the AI can be adapted to the special needs of your mission… even while playing or testing your mission. The AI Addon and ist readme as well as the dialogs are fully translated into english so you all can use it.     I just happend to see the release news this morning and unfortunatly only had half an hour for testing. But the great atmosphere has caught me immediatly. This is a really cool new OFP experience.Very recommandable indeed even for those that are not into this topic like me. Just a short comment, for i got to team up with the scouts now! Â

    LSR Deltas/Rangers/Weapons 2.0 Released

    Okay, of course does the number of units on the map influence the performance. You're right with that. And more units means more lag. But the number is not the only thing to cause lag. Just give it a try yourself: place a number, maybe ten or twenty original BIS West soldiers on desert island and watch out for the FPS (either with the dxdll or with fraps). Then go on and change the BIS grunts into Lasers Ranger or Delta units and again check the FPS. I'ld be very surprised if you won't notice a difference. Â

    Good news, indeed. Really looking forward to use the new version in our MP battles! One word or question about performance, nevertheless. Are there any plans to improve the performance of this really nice looking units? Some of you might have played my mission Leaves in the wind where there are about 30 Rangers (version 1) engaging the enemy. That cost something about 10-20 FPS. So there was no chance to use some of the nice looking russian units (more than 100 units). Â I'm sorry about that because I'ld really love to use all that units in some tough combat. No offence meant! I was just wondering since we have some discussions on the performance issue in our forums.

    Hello all, it's actually done! The mission is out now and available for download. Â Some of you might have seen the trailer by Sniping-Jack? As you might remember then "leaves in the wind" is an infantry mission with Laser's Rangers. Besides your own squad you've got to command three additional teams against a very well prepared enemy on central Kolgujev. This not so new story will surprise you with it's nice details and many ways to get around, eg. arti, helos, many tanks, backup, individual mission settings (time, weather, number of enemies and their skill), a full documentaion with many hints and tips ...
