Well then, here you go! That's where the Rucksack update was for! Every year christmas comes again and yet every year it is coming up pretty surprisingly. Maybe you all have been a little disappointed last year, because we had no special christmas release. This time you can look forward for some new heavy Stuff. BadAss designed his new mission on a whim. But as it turnes out, it seems like this mission will be your christmas surprise this year. By the way, it seems to be the first Mapfact mission featuring both the DAC and the backpack addon. Too, the ActionHUD is playing it's part again, providing you important information. Read more at www.Mapfact.net and download it here. Â And of course: have fun!

Of course I will keep the laptop idea in my mind. Eventhough I don't now when to work on it. But anyways: watch out for Santa Claus. He might be around with something in his bag or shall I say backpack?!

    Mapfact.net release DAC Zonewriter

Since the configuration of the Dynamic AI Creator looks a bit complicated at the first moment, MCPXXL started the project Zonewriter. This small tool facilitates the configuration of the first AI zones for DAC beginners. By means of explanations and input masks the configuration causes no more problems and provides the first zones shortly. The tool gives the complete DAC call, it only has to be copied to the appropriate place of the mission. As an additional feature the Zonewriter brings the "unit extractor tool" as its further assistance. That one makes creating Unit-Config-Files for custom addons quite simple. Download the DAC Zonewriter here

Maybe you add a new config entry with just the helo? In the DAC_Config_Units.sqs there's the entry _Unit_Pool_A, that's the place where you can enter your chopper!

    Mapfact.net releases Undercover by Chneemann

Finally, we have a new Mapfact Singleplayer Mission for you again. The Mission is a mix of civil espionage action and a part of Adventure within the infiltration of a huge base. Be sure that there will be a lot of bullets in the air by the end. Here's a bit of the story, just to make you curious. As always, more information on www.Mapfact.net and on the download page ".....The engines of the DC-3 runs down quitly as I got out of the Drikar-Air. The Airport admittances voive says hello to the travelers, and I sayed to myself, Hmmm how long do they keep me in mind as "just a tourist"?. Cause I am on tour "undercover". In my mind I try to imagnine the painfull and angry faces of the american Soldiers, after leaving Drikar again. My targets are still unmatched so I´m fixing my first one, to reach the small Islands captial. Thats the where place I have to meet my first contact to get more informations. The Headquatersbriefing at the beginning of the mission had been pretty scantily. There´re to much parts still unknown. So I have to get the Information by myself. I see a lot of Minering Vehicles on the way to the City, they seem to be pretty well in buisness here. I have to check this at my next opportunity. Every single bit of information can be important to finish my mission succesfully...." Have fun!

    Mapfact.net releases a rucksack addon

Hi Shinbusan, how did you play any Standard OFP mission? You seem to need a hell of ammo! No offense meant, but either you're not a good shot or you must have hundreds of hostiles in your missions! But as raedor said, changing the mag count during missions isn't possible at all. Only way was to define different rucksack magazines with different mag counts. Maybe that's an idea but that would mean a real heck of work.... Just imagine any rucksack mag just like e.g. your standard 5.56 mag. In OFP there's no possibility to change your bullet count neither. And you can't grab single bullets to refill your mag. Exact the same goes for the rucksack mag. But agreed, would be very nice if... As to the zodiac, Commando84: I'ld carry one or two paddles if you take the engine on your back! Would be fairly easy to implement but the backpack isn't your deus ex machina and in my opinion a zodiac is way out of line. A steerable parachute is much more like it. Gandalf did one. I used it in my mission "Traumfabrik" (Dream factory, german only unfortunately). Is there any steerable parachute that can be used by the AI? And yeah, please give me a note if you want us to include certain Mods or weapon packs.

    Mapfact.net releases a rucksack addon

Hi Shinbusan, thanks for your review. Yeah, you're right. To just get 2 5.56 mags out of one backpack slot is not enough. I rather wanted it to be three mags. But due to whatever  circumstances I copied and pasted only 2 mags for all JAM mag types. When I realized I was so fed up that I decided to rather cut the dozen standard mags shorter instead of changing about 400 JAM mags. I try to fix this in a later update.  But then again the backpack wasn't meant to get rid of all ammo shortages for that is quite a thrilling element in OFP as well. It's rather meant to give you more possibilities to let you decide.  With only four slots (maybe only three when you have a handgun) you have to choose: extra 5.56 mags, nades, LAWs, smoke shells, bandages, radio batteries... you name it. I'm convinced this serves team play very well, when you carry extra ammo for your mates, e.g. the LAW gunner can't take a backpack the same time but might need some more rockets ... You only can pack the tent or position with two free slots in your backpack. Fire on or off? Yeah could be other way round, doesn't really matter I guess? But don't light too many fires. In on of our tests on desert island Mr-Murray did light about 100 fires. Boy, that was lag! On desert island! A packing option? Let me guess about the next step: taking weapons off the backpack and pack it later on. Phew, not that easy. I'll give a more serious thought but I can't promise anything. Would be nice, anyway, indeed. @ AgentFox2 and KeyCat: I'm very glad you like that little one! More radio types? Lets see, what we can do. Maybe there's a way.

    Mapfact.net releases a rucksack addon

I couldn't manage to make a working patch for the rucksack yet, but I've just uploaded the new version 1.01 without gunsmoke in ECP! go download! In our forum there was a question concerning the rucksack and respawns. When you're respawn in MP missions all your EventHandlers are deleted by OFP. Since the rucksack uses EventHandlers it doesn't work anymore after you died. The next version of our respawn will solve this problem, though. @ Commando84: I had the laptop idea as well. But not to serve as a radar but to enable you to communicate with other units and to give them orders, just like in my mission "Leaves in the wind". I note your ideas, so lets see, what we can do. The mechanics idea is very good. Maybe it's possible. Did you read the read me? There you could have seen the Mapfact XM8 is included as well...  <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">Rucksack-Magazines for Mapfact Mags Rucksackmag ClassNames InGameNames  MAP_XM8_M30_PDM MAP_XM8_BC_Mag30 MAP_XM8_M100_PDM MAP_XM8_BC_Mag100 MAP_XM10600_PDM MAP_XM1060 MAP_XM8_M30sd_PDM MAP_XM8_SD_Mag30 MAP_LB_PDM MAP_LaserBattery

    Mapfact.net releases a rucksack addon

I appreciate your help very much, Komuna! Thank you! It works very fine now. I've just downloaded the pbo patcher program, so I can try to make some patch for the rucksack. It's very likely that we will do some updates of the rucksack to include some more magazines for even more mods and weaponpacks. New rucksacks might follow, too, sometime in the future. You're welcome either post or pm suggestions, ideas and wishes. But due to limited time at the moment we might not be able to do it in the next couple of weeks. Christmas holidays might be the next opportunity to get some time to pack some more stuff into the backpack. For the moment: thx for your nice replies and have fun!

    Mapfact.net releases a rucksack addon

@ CanadianTerror: no I'm afraid we completely forgot about that. @ honcho: that's what the rations are supposed for. Eating or drinking brings back about 10% health. You just need some damage script to make the player thirsty and hungry. @ HotShot: it's very well possible. But there's more than one place to include further mags. Maybe you send me a message to further discuss this topic? @ Commando84: fine it works. I'ld be very sad when something doesn't work after all the testing. I guess it's a bit tricky to use the rucksck at fiorst, but once you got it it's very easy. Putting it into your missions should be fairly easy as well.

    Mapfact.net releases a rucksack addon

There will be updates, sure! But after including about 400 JAM Mags I was pretty fed up... so that's the main reason letting out other great mods, eg. Â OFrP... UK Foreces, RHS are good ideas. The rations do heal the player but no real function for that yet. I thought of rpg (role play game effects)... Thanks for downloading and thanks for your kind comments!

More news at Mapfact.net! We've just  released a new SP mission. The "Lone Wolf" created by Unterfeld is some kind of remake of the original BIS single player mission. Originally the Lone Wolf was planed as a bonus mission for "Operation Autumn Storm". But due of the fact that "Operation Autumn Storm" hasn’t really been come forward, we decided to present you the "Lone Wolf" as stand alone mission. Beautiful Exploding effects, mood full sounds, a convincing audio response and some further features, which were all already known from one or another mission by BadAss, are giving the corresponding spice to the mission. Who liked Unterfelds "Nortmen", should not miss the "Lone Wolf". Read more at Mapfact.net and download the mission here. Have fun!

    Dynamic Afghanistan

I had one annoying bug, though. During playing last evening I had three CtDs in one hour. Two of the three times it happend just before rearming my squad after completition of my mission. And it was no savegame resp. load game bug it happened just out of the blue without warning. Got to check my addons, maybe that`s the problem. Got no other idea.
