  1. If that wanzer fires off a nuke i got a scenario already:

what happened already:  We've kidnapped a scientist from the nation of...futuria...and are trying to get that wanzer technology off of him to use for our military.  Some mini gears assaulted our camp and brought him back.  Now though, we at least traced him down, and can start looking through their facilities to find the wanzer gear thats capable of firing off a nuke.  It's this badboy that we know is the puppy that can establish their power for good.

    whats happening now:

location: a secret desert nuclear testing island with some rural inhabitants.

you: a member of a futuristic special operations team.

goal: Search through a series of facilities to find the one holding a new wanzer that fires off a nuke capable of deploying anywhere in the world.

Convince the local inhabitants to fight for your cause.

It could have boss battles and everything, lazer rifle fights, all that good stuff.  But we need high quality mini gears to complement the wanzers.  If the wanzers are the tanks, the mini gears got to be the soldiers, security, stuff like that for these facilities.  The ones who carry out the small scale operations.  They can't just expect to send out a group of wanzers every time they want to invade a country.  This nation that owns these wanzers needs high quality mini gears to carry out operations in other countries to where their scientists get kidnapped or whatever.  They have secret technology that must be protected.   Email me for sounds.

Lets just think now, even if they had their own island and military force, what would make them bad people? Their beliefs. Okay so... They'll need their own nation. Soldiers/SPEC OPS would be high quality mini gears, they got aircraft, and tanks being the wanzers. It's a perfect threat.

  2. I would love to see the mini gears with proper textures and sound effects.  With all the excellent texture artists and sound diggers we have out here, its a shame noone has bothered to get up on this project.  i have tried but i suck at textures.  i do have the walking sound effects and explosion already collected if any of you wants to get down with this project.  I can also get a config guy and we can have mini gears for all three sides.  I'm going to contact Gigan, the creator of Wanzer to see what he can do.  If you talk to people the right way, they do stuff for you.  I really want high quality mini gears for us to complement the wanzers and im not only a client, but im a member as well if you know what im saying. I'm going to help I just need people.

  3. This should work:

first name your radio man "radioman"

then get the editor name of his radio.

Then in the init field of the radioman type in:

    radioman AddEventHandler ["fired",{_this exec "onfiring.sqs"}]

in the on activation field of the trigger put in: radioman say "nameofaudiofile"

I just need the trigger to know that the script has been executed.  Like condition:  "onfiring.sqs"

    or something like that.

I just don't know where to put the returned value of if the weapon is fired. The research continues...

  4. I'm trying to think of a way that if one of these radioes from these mods is fired off, since they are a weapon, that could somehow get an audio file to play.

Scenario:  Your team will be assigned a radio but we'll only be able to contact you as soon as you turn it on.  We'll be waiting.  Once your radio is activated we'll know its safe to transmit to you, so keep it off unless you're sure our transmission won't be picked up.  Then when you turn it on, be somewhere safe from the enemy and put the transmission on for the whole team to hear.

    Is this possible?

maybe [radioweaponname, radioman, audio file]exec "transmission.sqm"

So what you get is, you're the radioman, you fire the radio weapon after choosing it, an audio file plays. How simple! biggrin_o.gif Yes in this case thats a good thing.

Talk to me scripters, is this possible? If so, please tell me, then release to ofpec.

  5. Drill Sergeant you are an excellent artist.  Beaten up civillians like calm terror said more than likely will not be rescued but who's to say that they're not scientists withholding information or spies even?  So how about you then DS? Drill Sergeant, is it possible you could keep the faces, especiallly the female, but throw them in some military gear, and please remove the boots.  Hell, you've got some military gear already in the softpack and you had that tshirt model done and posted before.

military gear of soldier:  standard brown t shirt, camo trousers, no boots just socks.

military gear of pilot:  pilot outfit, no helmet, no boots just socks.

military gear of political prisoner:  orange jumpsuit no boots just socks.

and all with beaten up faces.

By the way, nice firing squad vignettes going on over there.

  6. I guess a tank is kind of a mobile all terrain cannon platform.  Good for defence of towns as pictured. Also good for long range shots that will destroy heavily fortified objects that artillery can't precisely take out.  Do you think the tank will ever be phased out?  Well why do we use tanks now?  In the gulf tanks are used as defence for convoys.  They stand guard against insurgents at street corners and checkpoints.  The cannon and the armor is the strongest part and most valuable part of a tank.  It can take alot of hits, it can deliver a very strong hit itself.  Doesn't radar detect tanks though?  In a war its always the soldier who's the target, and you can bet that a tank is going to protect him.  Them I should say.  You'd want your squad to be near the tank but not too close.  You don't want an rpg to bounce off and injure your squad.  The squad takes care of the soldiers, if anything heavy comes like lets say, a truck full of soldiers....boom.  Also theres recon.  Like to watch a route or something.  Motion detectors inside of the tank would let the crew know something is going on in front of the tank, the tank gunner positions the gun on whatever it may be, the road you've been inspecting is suddenly under the watchful eye of a security camera that fires a cannon shell.  Downloading now.

Bug:  I think that instead of having the searchlight random, that tank should just be considered a night version.

Scenario:  Ambush.  Some tanks along with a few squads of grunts during war time is sent in to do recon on a road from long range that it is used as an enemy supply route.  Since there are no trees or forest near the road for many kilometers, the tank is used to ambush and the soldiers are there in defence of the tanks.

  7. I'm endorsing my campaign.  I personally prefer by mission.  What do ya'll think?  It's a fictional story set in Nogova in an alternate timeline to the resistance expansion pack where General Guba has made Nogova into a military state.  Americans suffer there so when you need a soldier and a war is not going on you send in the special forces.  Special forces are green berets, army rangers, soar, and navy seals.  They all have a part in the campaign and each mission makes a reference to the next mission so you know whats going to happen next kinda but it all depends on you.  This is the first mission in the campaign, but you get to see what its like being each of those different teams during the campaign.  This is just a mission to see if you'd like my scripting or not. Try me out though, please, i beg of you.

  8. The problem with that is, i can't put in my PC jail on mungari or mcnools and make it authentic and tonal lags me out.  You can't keep a beaten up and tortured man in a hut with an open door.  Not even if it had guards it still wouldn't be cool.  The guards fall asleep n crap. Another thing is, he can't have his boots on. If he has his boots on he can run.

  9. I got a strong feeling one of you out there is thinking of making an island, just remember that there are

    1.government buildings (president, mayors)

    2.financial establishments,

3.harbors (ags harbor kit) and cities that lay next to water

    4.residential areas

    5.places of rest/relaxation/and eating

    6.business districts.

    7.farms

    8.slums

    9.govrnment military bases

    10.  a must have, terrorist military bases, but you can make believe that the one is the other if you wish.

    11. radio towers, mining, power stations, stuff to keep the place going.

    12. forests/jungles

    13. needs a jail too.

    14. needs a hospital.

    15. needs an apartment building.

    16. or at least space to lay one down from another addon maker.

see mcnools pacific island and mungari for excellent perfect ten islands but hey maybe its because im black, i dunno.  I also like Nogova and that new Lizardia is looking really nice.  Can't forget to mention panzerfaust island but its so dang small and way too modern for special forces which i favor but i can still get into it.

another tip:  package all the seperate building addons with it.

major problems with the more recent islands:

    1. not everything is packaged together

    2. not enough military bases

    3.  too many stretches of just nothing.  Put something in there like a forest, a base, an airport, something.

  10. I checked the latest HYK release and it was missing one thing.  A captive, who actually looked beaten up, helmetless, stripped down to his t shirt and pants and socks and just beaten.  Now that'd be awesome.  Just think about it.

Then that'd make an awesome rescue mission where the government or whoever took him didn't treat him so kindly but he still didn't give out, still didn't give up any information. If not, is there a beaten up face addon?

  11. I have a copy of the briefing if anyone wants to read it:

Operation Double 6- Rescue Mission 1 You're going to approach from the northwest in an unmarked Pavehawk. Your objective is to land here at the radio tower and extract five americans. You won't be coming back with them though. Let me explain. Handheld radios and access to them is strictly forbidden so Americans aren't allowed having them here. One of the civillians knows how to patch into radio towers and knows the navy's secret coded channels. He and a few others must have snuck past security to broadcast the S.O.S. which was picked up by the NAVY. When you get there, do not let the Russian authorities see you and live to talk about it. The minute you're spotted you'll be swamped by a T80 platoon due east of your position. Operate quickly and go where you're told. There's no telling what you'll come upon when you get there. Five unarmed americans can be equaled out by just two russian guards. There could be grunts, could be spetz natz, who knows. You Green Berets will be dropped off at the designated drop off point, the tower. Remember the rules of engagement, fire anyways. The chopper you came in will pick up the civillians for interrogation and to send them back home to the states. You will stay on the island for further missions. There is a small forest just southwest of the tower you must reach when you're finished. Your next operation will be intelligence gathering in Modrava. For you to get chow, you'll have to wait till tomorrow so I hope you ate. You should have enough ammo for this mission. If you need extra get on the radio and let us know. A medic will be assigned to your team just in case. Hey, good luck out there.

  12. Okay the first mission in the operation is way different than what i had first imagined.  I popped in the special forces tape i got for free from the ARMY and then began brainstorming.  The first mission is a rescue of some civillians trying to escape a military state, which is Nogova.  I based it on what i know might happen.  Americans wouldn't be allowed to have radioes.  So I put it so that in the mission they had escaped to a radio tower on a hill to patch in and broadcast to the states a distress signal.  Once that happened, someone at the radio station called up the authorities, which in a militaristic state is the military and the military comes to investigate.  Now, when the special forces arrive thats what they have to contend with.  Then they have to extract the civillians.  There's only room for one chopper to set down up there, and its an urgent mission, so i decided that the chopper would land, the SF stay, and the civs get on and go.  Better?

Edit: What I really need to do is find a clan that will actually play it for me.
