I have a copy of the briefing if anyone wants to read it: Operation Double 6- Rescue Mission 1 You're going to approach from the northwest in an unmarked Pavehawk. Your objective is to land here at the radio tower and extract five americans. You won't be coming back with them though. Let me explain. Handheld radios and access to them is strictly forbidden so Americans aren't allowed having them here. One of the civillians knows how to patch into radio towers and knows the navy's secret coded channels. He and a few others must have snuck past security to broadcast the S.O.S. which was picked up by the NAVY. When you get there, do not let the Russian authorities see you and live to talk about it. The minute you're spotted you'll be swamped by a T80 platoon due east of your position. Operate quickly and go where you're told. There's no telling what you'll come upon when you get there. Five unarmed americans can be equaled out by just two russian guards. There could be grunts, could be spetz natz, who knows. You Green Berets will be dropped off at the designated drop off point, the tower. Remember the rules of engagement, fire anyways. The chopper you came in will pick up the civillians for interrogation and to send them back home to the states. You will stay on the island for further missions. There is a small forest just southwest of the tower you must reach when you're finished. Your next operation will be intelligence gathering in Modrava. For you to get chow, you'll have to wait till tomorrow so I hope you ate. You should have enough ammo for this mission. If you need extra get on the radio and let us know. A medic will be assigned to your team just in case. Hey, good luck out there.

Okay I figured it out. I have windows firewall on. When its off, I can download things from ofp sites and use ofp, when my firewall is up I cannot. Duhhh. I forgot. Next.

Then by all means use me as your inspiration, motivation, whatever. Â You can not only cut power off, but using your knowledge of id's you can have destroyed buildings set off objectives if you research hard enough into it. That is exactly what i need to figure out, and once done write up a tutorial for it into ofpec. -
Okay the first mission in the operation is way different than what i had first imagined. Â I popped in the special forces tape i got for free from the ARMY and then began brainstorming. Â The first mission is a rescue of some civillians trying to escape a military state, which is Nogova. Â I based it on what i know might happen. Â Americans wouldn't be allowed to have radioes. Â So I put it so that in the mission they had escaped to a radio tower on a hill to patch in and broadcast to the states a distress signal. Â Once that happened, someone at the radio station called up the authorities, which in a militaristic state is the military and the military comes to investigate. Â Now, when the special forces arrive thats what they have to contend with. Â Then they have to extract the civillians. Â There's only room for one chopper to set down up there, and its an urgent mission, so i decided that the chopper would land, the SF stay, and the civs get on and go. Â Better? Edit: What I really need to do is find a clan that will actually play it for me.

Why still operation flashpoint? Because of the fact that when new music comes out, or a new idea, or new weapon, or anything comes out we immediately want to imagine it in a mission and play out the scenario.

the mapfact barracks addon has a power station unit, and you can use it to turn street lights on and off based on the fact that the street light either has a name or an object id. the instructions are in the mapfact barracks zip file. Please read it, its very easy to understand, and can even apply to other things if you wish. -

1. have the sunrise come sooner than usual. This way your missions can go from night to day right before your eyes. Or day to night. How the hell? 2. The talking to another soldier animation and how to break it or stop it. You got to have a part in the mission where two soldiers are talking to one another. How the hell do I do this, make them look like they're talking to one another, then whats the code to stop it? Let's continue this thread just to nail the essentials. I know theres one like it, but that thread tries to get every single snippet out there, lets just nail the essentials. -

So in effect, when time is sped for the environment, it speeds time up for the troops too, but you'll need to space it out so that its not so apparent that everything is moving so fast. Correct? Oh and let me tell you about the first mission. -

@Delta Hawk: Â I was told that since the Navy and the Marines fall under the united states department of treasury that they can switch uniforms at will if they want to. Â Therefore if a seal wants to be a marine he can be a marine. Â Also, though the marines don't fall under SOCOM, they could if they wanted to. Â Don't believe me? Â Question Solid Snake's transformation in MGS2. Â I know its fictional but based on true information to make the game. Â My source is an ex navy personell from the sixties. Not saying im right, just wanting to talk about it. Hyakushiki, much thanks. Alot of thought was put into this. I was surprirsed to see special forces in this addon. For the first time, real green berets. Good quality ones too. -
Okay the missions you've seen are the strategic objectives of Operation double six you might say. Â They're the main missions. Â The missions in between will be fun too. Â Those are the ones I won't mention. Â I need three factions, the U.S. of course is done, I need a generic government and a generic terrorist army. Â So, I've decided to go for a russian government, and to use the resistance as the terrorists that the russians are funding. Â I'd do tonal government but the tonal special forces and the government fall under the same side and I don't want to do the tiresome editing to change that. Â I considered edge's retextured guerillas but considering the flashpoint sites mostly don't allow access these days I'm going with the easiest option. Â Addons required so far, and acquirable I might add are still the same. Â I will update the list to be shorter in due time. Â You can bet that the new HYK release and the combat humvees will be in the mix though. Â I've gone over the idea of using the tonal set, you know the soldiers and the island objects n stuff, but not the island. Â Not only would this provide me with government troops, but would also provide me with blah blah blah but it all works out just fine as it is now. Â Russia owns nogova in my story. Â The resistance are narco terrorists. Â U.S.A. isn't allowed to interfere with russian affairs. Â Are we friendly to each other yes, allies though, no. Â So you can expect that if a russian patrol spots you there will be a small conflict followed by some reinforcements. Â The main goal is the terrorists though. Â They're flooding their drugs over into the U.S. and we can't have that.

It was a tough one but that Lizardia island from CSLA looks to be the best middle eastern environment ive seen for ofp yet.

Thank you for your suggestions. I won't use Rangers now. Â The SEAL part of the mission I can do with the COC seals. Â Thanks to hyakushiki I can do the special forces parts of the missions. Â I can also do the Delta Force parts of the missions thanks largely due to Laser, but I won't now that i've changed it up. Â I'd like to know, if you wanted, could you get these downloads if you wanted. Â The main reason is, if you can't get the addons then whats the use? Â Most of the sites I know are down. Â But try to get these addons: HYK modern us infantry 1.52 jam and laser Combat! Humvees. BAS blackhawks/pavehawks, the latest update of course. This is the addon list for now.

once again hyakushiki, you have outdone yourself. My favorite units are the 85 special forces. they got flack collars on, they got their backpacks, and they're ready for war. Those updated 03 boys have no flack collars therefore i don't like em. I can hardly wait to find a co op clan and get into some serious fun again. -
That'd be cool if when a tank round hit a truck it'd flip onto its side or if a grenade hit a tire the whole tire would fall off.

The film crew addon is great, that there mech doesn't play any really good role for now based on the kinds of islands we have. Â We'd need more of a futuristic city for a wanzer mech to really have its place in the ofp world. Â Let's think of how many things can possibly happen to that flim crew... We could have him kidnapped, assassinated and his tape stolen, he could be a courier for al jazeera......

I Hope we can figure this out. The ofp community has a real bad problem of cursing, cussing, swearing, bad words, whatever you want to call it. Man, we have got to stop this if we want to become successful people.

To give a curse is to receive one. Â You can't be respected amongst the moral society like that though. Â Would Disney land be disney land with cursing? Â We need help. Â It's our problem.
