Have you tried lowering your pointer speed in windows? Windows makes the pointer step multiple pixels to increase mouse speed over a certain setting (the middle setting is usually best). Unfortunately this often gets passed through into games.

It can't hurt though Sometimes If you copy all your points from the lod which you think should have the shadow to a new lod, set the name correctly and delete the old lod, then the shadow will start working - just one of those crazy o2 things.

Technically it is possible, but it would be FAR easier to do as Nephilim sugests. The way to do it via the config alone is to use hidden selections. You can define multiple faces each with a different texture m apped and hide them in your config. The downside to this is that your model will be overly complicated, there is a fixed limit to how many 'selections' you can have (255 I think) and you'll likely need more faces that that. It's a pain, let's hope it's something that BIS will find an easy fix for in OFP2 (or whatever its name will be).

BIS, please, please give us an upto date version of O2 or its equivalent. Or, at least release an uncrippled version of O2 with anims, export to 3DS, and the other goodies enabled. I'm sure people would be more than happy to sign an NDA to get it if you have any legal worries on this. Take the time to polish any in house tools that would benefit the community and get them released - I'm sure there're a lot of things you have which would really help us out. That's all I want ;) -
you can simulate extruding a fuselage like this: create the cross section view in the o2 'front' view. in the 'left' view select all the points you made of the fuselage cross section. click the X (or is it Y can't remember so experiment) button in the toolbar, this locks movement to one axis only. now if you hold down shift and your right mouse button, you can drag a copy of your first fuselage section to the right or left of it. just keep repeating this wherever you need a bulkhead/change of diameter. you can resize any of these fuselage sections by selecting just its points and holding shift, ctrl, right mouse and dragging. Easy peasy.

Here is my only wish for AA: An up to date release of O2 or whatever the equivalent tool is that BIS now use. It's no use giving is all these new engine improvements if we can't get our models to make use of them. One thing in particular I have in mind looking at the screenshots is bump mapping. I'm pretty sure bump mapping will need additional alpha channels - I just hope we get the tools to create textures with them. Can't wait to see my Scorpion in AA PLEASE DONT LET US ADDON MAKERS DOWN BIS! -

We should all count our blessings that games like GR2/3 and CS exist, without them there would be even more tossers playing OFP and generally making it shit for the rest of us. Ironically one of the main features that people have been asking for in ofp2, join in progress, may be the one feature that will attract more idiots to the game - the fact people have to be organised to play ofp1 helps to weed out the type of player that we don't want. Life sucks. I can't complain at any of the screenshots I've seen so far, how many of us can code a game? -

I guess now that the class names of the weapon pack have changed, the dependencies in the crew pack are broken. It's a minor problem that only shows up as an error message - may cause missions to fail though.... Here's a screenshot -
Hi, I've got a fairly low poly model that I want to have a shadow. I;ve created a very basic (175 face) lod for the shadow and the shadow displays fine in game. BUT... the same lod is also being displayed for the model at quite short distances in game (Even though my details settings are quite high). Is there a way to make sure a lod is never displayed, or that is only used over distances where the lack of detailing wont show up? The reason I ask is that going throgh the pain of reducing the number of faces _and_ keeping the textures intact would just be a nightmare. Thanks.

I've not posted here in a while about the scorpion I'm building (There's a complete WIP thread on the PUKF forums though ), so here's a recent pic... If anyone has any interior photography I'd be very interested to see it...

Not sure how vaulable that info is on the disk to you but there's a couple of options, 1) a data recovery agency cost approx 200 quid 2) find an identical working drive and swap the electronics over in case its not a mechanism failure (I've successfully rescued data the latter way)

How's that tutorial coming along? My track doesn;t animate at the right speed either :/ Also I created my sidewall textures the wrong way round (I drew them vertically instead of rotated 90 degrees right) so my sidewalls animate bottom to top instead of left to right (looking at the lower segments of the track). doh!

Tribes and Tribes 2 also used a mathematical engine, only object placement was restricted to a limited area.
