P4 3.4HT CPU Radeon X600 PCIe card 512mb RAM B

Yup. The crash seems to happen when there is quite a lot of fire going down....i have noticed that a lot of the time it happens whilst firing multiple AP/HE rounds from a BMP 2. Â This is followed by a repeating of the sound of firing for a few seconds then the re-boot. Nubbin, as i said earlier, i am not entirely convinced it is a PCIE problem, it may be a DX issue but i have not yet had a play around in that dept. Â I will do so when i get home. Â Is there anyone who is running OFP on a PCIE card with no problems?
-
I am having the same problem i think. I am playing through the campaign again and it seems to happen at the same point in the mission i am currently on....full PC re-boot. It also happens on a few SP missions i have tried but some missions work fine. Are you sure it's to do with the video card? I have a sneaky feeling it has something to do with DX. I am running an ATI X600 PCI Express card. I have a brand new machine and OFP is the only game it happens with....hell, i can run Farcry maxed with no problems. It happened with the stock ATI drivers and it's still happening now i have updated to the latest ones. I have tried lowering graphics settings etc. Any ideas?

I recently signed up and this game rocks. It is very very addictive. I am about 18 hours away from the level where i can buy and fly my first cruiser, a Thorax. I am currently flying a Tristan frigate packing 2x 150mm railguns with Iridium ammo, a missile launcher and 2x combat drones and i am sailing through lvl 2 agent missions with ease. You need to find an agent with a high quality rating to progress up through the levels faster and get batter paid missions. I have a lvl 2 federal navy agent in security and i get mostly pirate hunting missions and the odd courier one. I am in a corp with a few guys and gals i know in RL and we all help eachother out, especially the new starters. We mine in groups and all get an equal share of the profits, no matter how much you actually bring in yourself. This helps the new starters to progress quicker. Mining is boring but it's fun when you are in a group and everyone is racing to get kills on the intruding pirates....it's also the best way to make cash. I mined for 3 hours a few nights ago with 5 corp members and we each made 4.2 million each. There are corps out there that will fleece you so be careful who you join. My corp is based in MOSELGI at the Minmatar Mining Corporation Refinery and is called 'No Name Inc'....we mostly mine, hunt pirates and build & sell ships, weapons and ammo. The game is very complex and there is a hell of a lot to take in and discover. The basic 'playing' of the game is real simple though. My name is Bravo Z....hail me if you see me in space

Please don't set AI skill to max....it just causes them to kill you at 800m through a forest with an RPK headshot . Â Around 50 - 75% works best. There are a few enhanced AI scripts on OFPEC which you may find useful....most scripts come with a mini tutorial mission too. Some people say that OFP AI are quite stoopid but i have seen them do some really amazing and sneaky stuff in my time. If you can get away with it, set the terrain detail to normal or high and you will find that the AI will sometimes use the indentations and gullys to their advantage. AI can be as sneaky as you are with good use of waypoints and triggers as well as a little devious imagination. Use 'Switch' triggers (look in 'type' in the trigger menu). Basicly a switch trigger allows you to define a set of WP's for AI units....for example, a patrol squad with a set of 'Move' WP's round a camp, behaviour 'Safe' and speed 'Limited' linked with a 'Cycle' WP....you then synchronise the 'Cycle' WP to your 'Switch' trigger in which you will have a set of conditions....let's say West detected by East....you can now add more WP's after the 'Cycle' WP that the patrol will 'Switch' to when the trigger is activated....let's say a 'Guard' WP, behaviour 'Combat', speed 'Full'. Ok, so what you will have now is a squad that will continue to patrol the camp round and round until West is detected....they will then go into guard mode meaning they will hunt down the enemy till they have killed it. Now i'm not sure this is what you are exactly looking for but it was just my way of easily explaining 'Switch' triggers....but once you know how they work you can use them to switch your AI to different sets of WP's and behaviours depending on the situation....very good for quick flanking manouvres. Once the player's squad is spotted by the enemy AI they will obviously attack pretty much head on. Â Do stuff like have the enemy attack and then retreat which should draw the player/s after them....then have another squad of AI out-flank them in 'Stealth' mode and attack from behind the player/s....or have the main squad retreat, again, hopefully drawing the player in and have a small hidden squad lying in wait or even booby-traps (tripwires, claymores etc..) Even simple stuff like having the AI split up and perform a pincer movement works really well. Think about the routes you would take if you were playing the mission and use this to set up your AI or even set AI up so as to force the player to going a certain way where you will have plenty of nasties waiting for them . Trying to out-wit the players that will play your mission is one of the hardest things to do but also one of the most satisfying Hope this helped a little.

Bruce Lee once said that the best person to spar against was an out and out lunatic brawler who was going to bite scratch and tear him apart....well, try at least. But how can it be the 'best' martial art? Ken Shamrock is a submision fighter/grappler. It's a style of fighting and there will always be another style that will exploit flaws in it. A grappler has no chance of beating a 6' 6" Kick Boxer with legs like telegraph poles as he just won't get near him. Â That's the beauty of Jeet Kune Do....totally flexible to any style. Â You will find that most of the UFC fighters will have worked the parts of JKD that work for them into their style. You can't judge a style against a style....it's an opinion based generalisation....it's like saying classical music is better than country music or baseball is better than basketball or, and here's a cracker, the SAS are harder than the US Marines. You can only judge the quality of art by measuring individual artist quality. You think these UFC guys would take Bruce Lee? Yeah, i know i am pimping Bruce to the max but the guy is my idol and to be quite honest there is still nobody quite like him today and here's why. Let's look at individual style. Â Your average UFC fighter has some martial arts style (mainly Jiu Jitsu) mixed with outright hardcore street brawling/grappling/submission fighting technique and more than likely some JKD principles thrown in. Granted, this resembles Bruce's 'way' probably more than any other martial art but there are still vast differences. Jeet Kune Do takes numerous fighting styles and cuts away all the unessential parts. Â This results in Bruce having a style (although it isn't classed as a style) that is heavily influenced by the speed, accuracy and attack & defence theory of Wing Chun but also incorporates the fluid, non-fixed positions, body mechanics and footwork of boxing aswell as Bruce's own unique way of kicking. Â Extremely fast and extremely direct. Â He also adapted the parry and attack elements of fencing into a system where the two individual actions are formed into one fluid action....the way of the intercepting fist, or Jeet Kune Do. Â He was also a highly skilled grappler. Â If you have seen any of his movies he finished most of his opponents with grappling. In 'Way of the Dragon' he finishes Chuck Norris with a neck break. In 'Game of Death' he beat Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with a headlock. His speed was of the scale!! Â Remember when he squares up with the his first opponent in 'Enter the Dragon' and as they touch wrists Bruce nails him with a lightning fast jab or remember the famous three kicks to the head of Chuck Norris in 'Way of the Dragon'. Â They had to get him to slow down whilst filming 'The Green Hornet' as he was just too fast for people to be able to tell what was going on (not that he was too fast for the camera as some cock & bull rumors will have you believe.) Â Amazing!! His strength for such a small & slight guy was a joke!! Â Push-ups on your index fingers....ouch!! Â People he worked with on movies speak of him popping of bottle-tops with his thumb. Â His famous 'One Inch Punch'. The sheer fluidity and adaptability combined with awesome strength, speed and accuracy and his philosophical way of thinking & state of mind was just unbelievable and he would a complete nightmare for anyone to contend with. I would have to say no way. There never has been and probably never will be another like him. Ok, i'll stop going on about Bruce Lee now. He is awesome though!! Ok ok...i'll stop!!

Y'know, it's funny, most people seem to label the Chinese with a martial arts stereotype when in actual fact less than 20% of the Chinese population have practiced a martial art in their lifetime. Thing is, even with such favourable odds, would you take the chance?

Make sure you get my good side!

Thanx PB. So i have to overwrite the original Hummer .pbo? Using the addon in a mod-folder won't work?

Of course you are correct, people that have 'progressed' as far as that are few and far between....but that's not to say that your average student can't achieve this level of mindset. Â Anyone can. Â It's a matter of controling your own emotional content. Note that i said "For martial arts to have a real effect you need to allow yourself to progress to the level where it's more about state of mind rather than the moves you have learned or the strength you have gained" That's the first step right there....freeing your mind of doubt and allowing yourself to believe you can achieve. That's totally contradictory. The Navy SEAL has turned many a tango's skull into an ashtray with a psychologically sound mind and physically sound methods because of controlled training exercises. Ask any soldier that has gone through, or knows about, resistance to interogation training it's all about conditioning of the mind.

You guys really think that a martial art isn't useful in you average 'street fight'?? Well, most techniques or moves (mostly from fixed positions) are of little use....but it's not all about technique, strength or moves, it's about control of the mind....lemme explain. Anyone can become good at martial arts....great for fitness, discipline, attitude etc etc. For martial arts to have a real effect you need to allow yourself to progress to the level where it's more about state of mind rather than the moves you have learned or the strength you have gained....then it becomes an unformidable tool in everyday conflicts and everyday life itself. Someone gave the example of a dude running at you with a baseball bat. Well your average person's instinctive reaction in the heat of the moment, even someone who knows martial arts techniques or moves, would be to move out of the way or just run. A person with martial arts knowledge who has trained to the extent that they can relieve themselves of all emotion and can empty the mind of all 'unnecesary'(typ?) thoughts will be able to react to the situation with ease and defuse the threat in a matter of seconds. As a great man once said "Don't think, feel. It's like a finger pointing away to the moon....concentrate on the finger and you miss all that heavenly glory".... That's what it's all about. Â Getting to that higher level of conciousness. Â Freeing the mind. "Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend." - Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee studied Wing Chun as a youngster, as well as Chinese Boxing. You remember the wooden training apperatus he uses with many 'arms'? Â That is for Wing Chun training. Â The style concentrates on a lot of blocking manouvers and it was from this that 'Tao of Jeet Kune Do' (Way of the intercepting fist), which is based on a system of blocking and striking in one fluid movement, was heavily influenced. Wing Chun was used a lot in The Matrix fight scenes.

Any chance you can put up a quick-fix for the 'BAS_weap' error Pappy? I am playing through the CWC campaign again with the mod and i don't get to see any intro's due to geting the error Also the Hummer doesn't seem to be changed to the addon version (forgot the name) and when someone gets in the passenger seat they end up still in the 'opening door' anim but sticking out of the roof Other than that, great mod....lovin' it!! (Would be cool if you could replace the original motorbike with the BAS KLR-250) Thx

@BoweryBaker: Of course i know who van Damme is. Bloodsport and Kickboxer were faves of mine when they first were released My point was, he is nothing compared to Bruce Lee....a real martial arts legend. Many have tried to emulate him and all have failed. Jet-Li could probably come close but he uses wires too much which make his style look fake imo. I don't wanna spark off a 'My dad can beat up your dad' conversation but can you think of anyone from past or present, any fighting style that would take Bruce Lee out? His sheer speed and accuracy would fell any 'power fighter' such as as boxer etc, he wouldn't even get near. I am sure there are guys & gals out there who are top of the field in their chosen style who could give Bruce a run for his money but the great thing about Bruce was that his 'style' was the use of no style which meant he could adapt it to any style he came across. Bruce was awesome and it's a great shame he died as young as he did. Did you know: Bruce Lee had one leg shorter than the other?

The TV recieved by BBC and ITV was recorded by Portugese TV. Â I have noticed throughout the tourney they seem to have a thing about replaying fouls 5 times and not showing the important bits. Raedor - The alleged 'handball' by Gary Nevile was a clear case of ball to hand if ever i saw one....never a 'false decision'. I can't believe some of you guys are getting miffed at the fact us English fans are not happy with the result and discussing it in this thread....it's part of football and part of being a true supporter....it's part of what makes football what it is. Well..... We have gone out....on pens....again. A few thoughts.... We started off ok. Â Owen got an early, nicely finished, goal. Â To flick the ball with the outside of your foot like that whilst turning takes some skillz. Â Great goal. Then we sat back on the lead. Bad move. Why?? When will we learn?? Take note of how both Croatia's goals came from crossed set pieces and not a single England defender made an attempt to attack the ball with a header....exactly the same as in this match....not a single defender jumped, Portugal scored. We sat back and invited them on to us....Scholes had a nightmare of a game....Beckham was less than average....Owen looked lively but wasn't really getting the service from midfield....as soon as Rooney went off we were no real threat on goal....Ashley Cole was my man of the match, he fouled Ronaldo a few times but he was just doing his job, he did it well and Ronaldo is real good at making it easy for you to foul him to be fair....James was not with it (recall the ball being crossed towards the 6 yard box and he should have made an easy catch but he mis-judged it and it hit the post?)....why the hell did they sub Figo???....after Portugal equalised we were trying to hit them fast on the break but ended up giving the ball away when we could have played it around, kept possesion and controlled the tempo of the game....Vassell didn't do much....Phil Nevile, when he came on, should have been doing what he does best, scrapping round the midfield getting stuck in and chasing the ball....i don't think i recall him actually having it or making a tackle....Portugal didn't play particularly well, Ronaldo was their best player but Cole kept him quiet....the ref didn't have a good game at all....i couldn't believe we actually scored an equaliser in extra time as we never looked like scoring at all. The ref ruled against Campbell's 'goal'....well, there was contact made but it was more a case of the keeper making contact with the player than anything else....it would have gone in even if Terry wasn't there imho as the keeper came too late....looking at things from a neutral perspective, well trying anyway, i personally wouldn't have given the foul, especially considering the ref's assistant gave the goal. Then came the inevitable....penalties....again. I would like to state that i have been going to Old Trafford to watch Man-U for 20 years, i have watched numerous world cups, european cups, cup winners cups, euro championships etc etc. In all that time i have never ever seen a penalty spot with a mound of sand on it....ever!! Â What was all that about??? The camera shows that the ball moved forwards as Beckham took the pen. BUT If you are going to strike the ball and it moves forwards you are going to make contact with a higher spot on the ball than you would if it didn't move....right? Â So Beckham would have got underneath it and ballooned it anyway. We really missed Rooney, Gerrard and Scholes at the penalty spot. Ronaldo took the piss with his penalty. And getting your keeper to take the deciding penalty kick is just down right cheeky. Portugal didn't play great but we were worse. And we're out. On pens. Again. Well, i gave Portugal as my tip to win the tournament so i have to stick with it....it won't feel as bad being knocked out of the tournament by the champions. I also predicted Ronaldo would impress. Â He has been Portugal's best player imo and saying that about a young lad in the same team as Luis Figo says something about the player he should become....and he's all ours....muah muahaahaaaahaaa. *Takes off England shirt and puts his beloved Man-U shirt back on* Arsenal to win nothing next season - 100/1

My prediction for tonight is Scholes first goal 2-1 England and Owen will score the winner in extra time
