Thanks for posting. I actually just saw this a few minutes ago while reinstalling a game from them. Steal at that price! Has there been any word, if you have language X of Arma 2, and install OA, will you get to pick the language or will it default to language X? Hoping you can choose, but.... -

Searched the last 3 ACE2 version's threads, didn't find anything, though not being able to use AI in the search probably didn't help... Is it possible to put the gasmask and or balaclava onto AI troops? I'm after it purely for looks, so no biggie if not. If so, thanks for any pointers. Checked on the dev-heaven wiki too, but believe the only editing command line example was to check for the presence of ear/eye protection on a player. -
Would buy on Sprocket if the exchange rate were straight. What works out to ~$30 and change is listed @ $35. For 4 bucks more I'll just get the hard copy, and have the DVD plus at least the commands from the manual at hand, and no hassle of redownloading if/when the need to reinstall arises. I'd have given Sprocket a go for $30 though. :)

Just to throw my 2 cents in. I'd happily buy packs, if they had some meat/value. I've seen some games that charge $10 for garbage. A few novelty guns for a run 'n gun shooter, no thanks. Put together a meaningful, and logical package, and I'd pay for it happily. Eg: Put together an entire force pack, I'd plunk down $20 or so easily. (Eg: UK forces, having weapons, troops, vehicles, etc.) Of course, I mean something substantial. Forr something like a couple guns, 2 troop types and a truck, better be a lot less. ;) -

Don't suppose there is a way to make the AI choppers land and dump the troops? Not a biggie, can just exclude the helos from this. Never been a fan of the OFP/Arma/Arma 2 heliborne paradrops from 50m into the middle of an active battlefield. ;) Regardless, thanks for the package! -

Should be 239. I had initially updated and had 238 earlier this afternoon and had the same issue with medics, 239 it worked fine. ;) -
Ditto. It would be nice if something like that came out with Arrowhead, but I don't have my hopes up. I understand the sentiment though. Seeing that there is a Visitor 4 with such features, compared to the tedium of making a "good" map in V3... It's no wonder so many maps are 5x5km.

Are flares supposed to show up in daylight as the FAQ section stated? If so, they do not appear to be. Tried both M203 flare & starshell, and flare gun, nothing visible in daylight, only at night. -

With that module in, I know you can have AI in your squad do it, by giving the orders through the command/action menu. (unit#, actio, CSW function (Deploy/mount/etc). No idea if they will do this autonomously in all AI units. Would imagine it would require scripting. -

Can't figure out this updater. When I try to use the updater, it says " = ACE WARNING: Folder already exists, but does not seem to be a repository. Not Installing." Then same thing for ACEX. I watched the videos, read the instructions etc, and can't find where I might have zigged when I should have zagged... -

man, wish they would let us just choose a languange like Arma1 did. Got the German download version day it came out. Guess I'll end up buying a US version and giving this one away to a friend or relative who might get some fun out of it. -

Tried searching for answers, but found no firm answers. 1st, when using the client/host method, do the bandwidth settings in the arma.cfg file have any effect? Several searches didn't turn up a firm answer. Second, will the dedicated server use more than 2 cores? I read a bunch of posts about using true server boxes with 2 or 3 dual/quad cores, 8 gigs of ram, etc, but then read some threads stating the server never used more than 2 cores, and ~1 gig of ram. Obviously even if it only used 1 gig you want more for the system itself, but wondering if 8 on a machine only running the server is overkill? Third, would it be correct to assume 1-1.5 mbit is plenty for ~5-6 player coops? Thanks

I see the AI drivers are still in need of a lobotomy. :( x5 wheeled vehicles, all but the leader still decide to swerve off the road for no reason every hundred meters. Tested several combinations of waypoints (only two, many, etc), safe, aware, 2-5 vehicles, all with consistently poor results. Shouldn't need init commands and or scripting to do something as simple as tell a group of trucks to drive from point A to point B. Maybe next patch... -

If you get killed by a "camper", they succeeded in what they set out to do, you failed in what you set out to do. In military jargon, that is commonly referred to as victory. If no one is actively attempting to prevent the opposition from taking their flag, there is a serious shortcoming in the planning/leadership department. -

Just to add. My view distance is @ 3069. Objects appear at 1258 meters. Step back to 1259, gone, forward a meter, back. This is horrible, because they still engage without issue. This needs attention. Getting killed by units your looking right at, but are invisible, can really sap the enjoyment. -
I think something is FUBAR with the CH-29 (? that SU-25s carry). I noticed a couple times, I fired them, and after ~1-2km I flew over them, and they were practically floating in the air, eventually hitting the ground traveling near vertical, nearly no forward speed, and falling at about 1m/sec or so.

And on a similar note of hardware that is not present, but would be nice: self propelled mortars and arty. :)

A simple/crude solution would be to include an additional config parameter for penetration. Nothing fancy even (not that more fleshed out would be a bad thing :) ) just a simple X value for front/side/rear of vehicle, and Y value for any given round. Maybe allow a certain amount of the existing "hit" parameter to overpower it too, for explosives, etc. It would at least keep the small caliber weapons from playing a role.

"jump" as most games have it would be bad IMO. A climb/roll over, and a dive (over short wall, etc) would be nice. The current little hop, while nice to no longer be imprisoned by 1 foot high walls, is too slow. Not expecting BF2 style insta slam dunk leap, but when your sprinting a short hop/roll over a wall would take a second or two. The current method is more like someone who is rarely outdoors/physically active gingerly attempting to negotiate a low wall. If a soldier attempted to negotiate an obstacle in that manner, he would have a DI in his ear, and another one leg deep up his backside. :) -
+1 for volume. Currently use skype (small group of people), but would love to be able to use what's in game. Without volume control though, it is of little value. Even when quiet in game with nothing going on, can barely hear others when we've tried it.
