    Fallujah City

More fully detailed (enterable ala OA) buildings would be nice, even if only along the main roads. Allow more fleshed out defenses, raid objectives, etc along the main thoroughfares. In any case, great work, and a huge thanks! :)

    ARMA 2:OA beta patch 74123

Hopefully it gets bug bombed. Very detrimental to the AI's health in hilly terrain, never mind the visual aspect. Thanks for the continued work BIS. :)

    New mergeConfigFile scripting command

Guessing it can't be made to run at mission start, IE not the 2nd run of the mission? At least for me, one nice thing would be to disable the medical ability of vehicles for some missions without requiring an add on. While I prefer having the physical ambulance HMMWV/M113, I still prefer the medics inside be the Saint of Second Chances. :) Do understand this is mostly for addon making though, not having to exit & restart to test every little tweak.

ARMA 2: OA beta build 73968

Sooo, are IR strobes still broken/rebroken? IIRC, 1.54 fixed em, but now when I or the AI via "Fire" use them, it gets thrown, it never blinks/flashes (with or without NVG), and 10 seconds after leaving the hand it vanishes from the ground. :( Can't say it was this beta, could have been any since 1.54, been a while since I used a strobe. If it's relevant, using Arma2 + OA + BAF.
  5. Great work so far guys. 1 thing if it isn't already on your list: Chopper config needs an adjustment for formation spacing. Currently, the UH-1s have their spacing set @ 10 meters, obviously this is bad for business if you aren't VC. :) In the Config file within csj_uh1slick.pbo, class CSJ_UH1Slick ............. formationX = 10; formationZ = 10; are the lines. Default for class air (what all the stock helos use, is X=50, Z=100. With the setting of 10, multi chopper formations are a no go. After ~30 runs with a 6 chopper formation, the most that ever made it to the LZ were 2, often times none. Finally noticed it was a formation issue, set them "in formation" on the ground, and they were starting pretty much fuselage to fuselage. After changing it to the default BIS values , I was hearing a lot less "booms" during the ingress. ;)

    Tu-95MS

Now we'll need a Typhoon, and a Sean Connery soldier in a Soviet Captains uniform. :)

    Convoys and AI Holding Fire

You say they open fire before they reach the trigger. Presumably this means you wish them to hold fire until they reach that point? If so, set them to never fire and/or careless, then have the trigger set them to weapons hot/combat or whatever you like. ;) You can also have the change triggered when the ambushing units fire, in case they fire before the targets arrive, or do the same TO the ambushers, so they won't open fire until the desired spot. Many possible solutions to get the results you're after.

    Proving ground

Have to ask, what is the little flying bucket looking thing in the pictures for this on Armaholic? :) http://www.armaholic.com/datas/users/provind_ground_04_3.png Almost shot coffee out my nose when I saw that.

New recoil, please make it go away

Trouble was with the old way it went back to the exact same position. You could put your 2nd, 3rd, 10th rounds through the same hole at 100m with out any need to aim.
  10. He should be hidden unless turned out in the first place. He kinda has an important job to do inside if that big pointy thing in the front goes boom. ;)

    Next DLC: PMCs

I'd like a large (10x10-20x20) map, Mid-East or Central Asian feel, but much more emphasis on vegetated areas. Helmand, Eastern Afghanistan, or something along the lines of the Tigris-Euphrates areas in Iraq. Lots of places that get a bit more claustrophobic. Areas of heavy vegetation, narrow roads through fields, irrigation ditches, etc. Big map with lots of infantry friendly terrain, but keeping with the OA force theme.
  12. ARTY type magazines, at least some, don't appear to work correctly with the new targeting computer. Don't know if they were not intended to, or if this was something that was overlooked. EG: M119 with the ARTY type magazines (HE, WP, ILLUM, etc), when in the computer on the close setting, the minimum range is ~22km. On far range the minimum range is ~47km. IOW, default type HE is the only option. With the previous more primitive system, the additional magazine types seemed to work just fine.

    BAF bug report

Plausible. Whenever the server is getting a bit stuttery the supply trucks in warfare drive like the mailman from Funny Farm, taking out all in their path.

Make MG gunner to be able to carry backpack

Yes, but an all AI squad doesn't. Be nice to just allow the AI to "Rearm" from a backpack being worn, the same as they do from one on the ground. This way the MG gunner/AT gunner can run to his asst., take the ammo, and be back in the fight whether the squad is human or AI commanded.
  15. Trying to fire within minimum or beyond maximum range. There will be 2 blue range rings, the innermost is min range, outer naturally is max. Both change depending on charge power (close, medium, long (or far, forget what it's called) from the drop down box on the right. Close range with a mortar has nearly no min range, but long range rounds, especially with the bigger toys can be pretty substantial.

    BAF bug report

just tried mine, US & UK 50cal & Mk19, US M119, and British GPMG static all engaged. Are you using any mods?
  17. OK, I got it now. You select the AI gunner, say #2 is on another tube. So, press F2. Then, top option should be "Fire at position". You can do this visually if in 1st/3rd person view, they will fire at the point the hud reticule is at. You can also do it on map. Select gunner, highlight this option, and the map click will set the target. I LOVE it! :) Mortars were very underused before, at least in my groups gaming, this will be changing real quick. The Stryker mortar carrier being made functional with the patch doesn't hurt either.

British Troops DLC released & Official 1.01 Update

have I missed something, or is this engineer difusing exactly what already existed? Previously, engineers could "disarm" mines, etc. Now, engineers can disarm mines etc. What was added/changed? (Just adding satchels and the like? Never tried disarming them before)
  19. I was hoping this would allow control of AI gunners too, like a mortar platoon/howitzer battery. :( Still, this is a vast improvement over the previous manual arty aiming interface.

I cannot patch the game to 1.54!

That was internal to the patch. ;) Guess it did it in two steps when running.

I cannot patch the game to 1.54!

Also got error messages. I ignored them and the rest went, but E_Missions.pbo gave an error in the 1.52->1.53, and 1.53->1.54 segments: Error lines: Update 1.52-1.53\EXPANSION\ADDONS\MISSIONS_E.PBO.UPD cannot be applied, error xdelta3 returned error code: 1 Update 1.53-1.54\EXPANSION\ADDONS\MISSIONS_E.PBO.UPD cannot be applied, error xdelta3 returned error code: 1

    Jungle Wars: Island of Lingor

    24 + 7 = 31. Don't mind me, just doing a little unrelated math. :D

    One issue with OA...

It's at least a group in editor terms. :D Like type vehicles do have a higher success rate in larger groups, they just break out the dance routine less frequently. Differing speeds of different wheeled types, and especially tracked & wheeled vehicles mixed are a recipe for disaster. I've often wondered if a new formation would help. Column Spaced, or whatever you want to call it. A new formation option with increased spacing from the standard column. Won't help when one of the drivers decides "I'm going to cut 90 degrees and stop for absolutely no reason", but it would probably help a lot when they decide "I'm going to veer slightly, slow down, and then resume the speed I was going for absolutely no reason". The extra space would presumably help prevent the ripple effect when the latter occurs, which almost always has one of the reacting drivers behind pull the former, and the former is what typically turns convoys into gigantic cluster f***s.
