Without in any way jumping into this discussion I still have one thing I'm curious about.
If you were to intepret the 2nd amendment litterarly, what's to stop me from building/owning my own nuclear bomb(eg a fully armed SS18) or say M1A2 or even a F16?
Just curious how a court would tackle it if I claimed the right to have one through the 2nd.
If you look at the "well armed militia" part it actually makes more sense to own a bunch of M1A2:s or Nukes than a couple of Colt45:s which most likelly isn't going to scare any armies away.

My suggestion would be a cooler island name, something with more personallity than "Terrorland".
And; Something missing in many of the custom islands. Life.
I'd like to see more historical background, political factions with their own HQ:s(a bit like RepublicRev). Natural resource sites, Industries(named), railroads(not necessary of course). Custom flags?
Why all that? Because; With a deep background it's easier to think up campaigns, missions in the environment.
Well; That's all I could think of now

Oh. And billboards/ads with Coca Cola, Heineken, Becks, IBM or similar. I like some brand advertising

i voted jeep  i just want an humvee that can actully fire a machine gun that is mounted thats all i wantit would be great for route recons and urban battles
What about Quakergamers HMMV:s? They have both MG:s and TOW:s.
Though. My choice would be woodland camos for the very same.
Or btw. Why not offer to finish those woodland HMMV:s which were left with crippling bugs?

Real beauty indeed. Nice to see more civilian choppers.
Hoping to see some civilian small aircraft also
. (ala the Piper)BM

Yeah it looks good. Now it needs some actual Marines it can transport. Hope Suchey ang gang are busy
.Btw, what's the main difference between this and the AAV7 made by Tales of War? I've been using that one as a general purpose IFV in lack of better options.
BM
What the main difrence is?:
First off all... Look at the name... TOW made an AAV7 with an MK19 GL and M2.50 MG.
And USMC is making an AAVP7 and there is more difrence in ill shearch the blue prints for you and then you can see it

The differences are of course easier to spot for you with the know how(well i was of course aware of the lack of the P)

Ok let me ask this. Is the TOW AAV7 used at all in the USMC? Or is it an obsolete vehicle? Or fictional altogether?

Oops. How could i have forgotten? (have it in my DVD stand after all).
Cross of Iron.
Very good and realistic warmovie with the unusual point of view from German soldiers in the Eastern Front. Top notch acting and good battle scenes. It's one of the few WW2 warmovies where they actually got the tanks right.
Come and See is very good but i'm not sure I'd rate it a War Movie. More like WW2 drama ala "Holocaust" (not soapy of course)

Should add that this particular decision doesnt bother me that much. It's the long term implications of total control that does.
Personally I'd rather risc getting blown up or shot rather than give up all my liberties and integrity. Life should be worth something imho.

This is my personal list and probably doesnt reflect the consensus here.
Thin Red Line
motivation:It's unusual for war-movies in that it takes the view point of a regular grunt in the battle of Guadalcanal. Often I can become tired in war-movies due to the constant shooting without the character depht. This movie has lots of depht while still being very realistic. It is also too slow paced for some but imho it reflects how the life of a grunt in a real war is, ie lots of waiting and marching and short but intensive fights. I also like the poetic style of the narration, it's a bit dreamy and makes you think abit on the nature of man.
This movies ranks among the finest war movies I've seen at least.
Winter War.
If you can get hold of this. It's a very realistic and strong (mini actually) about the Winter War in Finland 39. Totally breathtaking experience.
Unknown Soldier
Another movie about the Winter War. It's more political than Winter War but it's still very well done and it won an Academy Award (one of Finlands few). Based on a book by Väinö Linna.
Some others I recommend without comments(theyve been commented to death)
Enemy at the Gates, Das Boot, BOB series, Stalingrad(it's among the weaker of my recommendations).
Is this good enough?

It felt more like those old fashioned arcade games where you shoot outlaws popping up in windows.hehe i got that same feeling a couple of times. But imo that was kinda fun

Why can't someone remake one of those instead

Yeah. What i really would like to see is a modern(ie engine) OUTLAWS. Best damn FPS ever made (imho).

Description posted above. It's a great CRPG set in a fictional(well it almost became reallity) WWIII Europe.
I was thinking of a campaign setting with multiplayer options.
Btw Johnny. I might have the rulebooks in some closet somewhere
. Scripting while demanding isn't totally impossible.BM

A few years ago movies like "Enemy of the State" was fiction. Now it's for real.A slight exageration.
On the other hand.................... look what we did!

Well that region is a special situation
.I mean the terrorists real win is if they can take away peoples freedom and liberties, not if they manage to kill a few thousand people. In fact that's their long term goals, to bring everyone down to their level.

I was dissapointed in the single demo. It felt more like those old fashioned arcade games where you shoot outlaws popping up in windows. I actually prefered MOHAA.
Let's see how the mp version fares.

Well he's Polish too so that could be another reason
.Nevermind his personal misfortunes/adventures but he's a great director and some of his movies are also some of my favourites.
China Town, Rosemary Baby (possibly a source for his personal problems), Frantic and Bitter Moon. Bitter Moon is one of my favourite Erotic movies.
I'll rent Pianist when it comes out on DVD.

A few years ago movies like "Enemy of the State" was fiction. Now it's for real. George Orwells nightmare state is about to become reallity. I bet they'll monitor the color of our "leavings" in toilets sooner or later.
It's a bit like those disclaimers "Privacy Policy". They are valid until they get desperate need for cash. Then your info is for sale to the highest bidder.
So much for personal integrity.

Ok i have played the tutorial mission,Pretty cool still need to get use to it though. Can any one explain to me a bit more on the firing bit? i seemed to get a lil bit confused when it told me how to do it in the tutorial, and i dont want to go throw all that stuff again.
Check the thread link i posted, it has some hints and a link to a FAQ and some docs as well.
I havent managed too much myself yet. Had to try out Call of Duty

I did a search and found nothing.
Wouldnt Twilight 2000 have been a great base for a campaign in OFP? After all there's almost everything you need to do a good scenario/campaign.
I loved the RPG but it was sometimes hard to find players and tough to make missions due to it's large scale nature.

Is this mod related to Sucheys/Earls Marines? If not, is there any co-operation between the teams?
Could be one source for textures
. I've been waiting for a more complete USMC package for almost erm 1.5 years now.BM

I think UFO:Aftermath (due to be released later this month, also a demo is in the makes), is going to have a somewhat similar combat system.A We-Go system? I thought it was more like pausable realtime ala XCOM Apocalypse.
Btw version 4.0 will have some changes to the system.

Anyone who said HW1 was full of bugs and crap should be locked up somewhere
.HW2 could be game of the year if all goes well (imo).

A new concept game I would call it. It's a free game but it's a sort of tech-demo, concept-demo mix. Also made by a Russian team.
Think JA2 meets Combat Mission. It's a sort of realtime we-go system with pausable realtime inbetweens.
The nice thing is that this game is fully free with a random mission generator but it's not commersial quallity (they dont have artists and such on payroll). However; IMO it looks pretty good for a game made solelly to test a new game system.
I'm not sure how the picture linking would work from another forum so I'll link to a thead about the game instead. It has both screens and comments.
http://www.ja-galaxy-forum.com/cgi-bin....0072;p=
And the download place.
http://users.tepkom.ru/vi/teste5_e.html
Could this be an interesting compromise between turn-based and realtime?

I could, and would download it but since patch 1,30 witch screwed up the sounds (in BF that is) i uninstalled the darn thing.Sound Blaster? I have had some problems in OFP too with my SB Live.

Please stick to the topic, everyone. This is not a spam-fest about who is bigger.
You should have known better, Denoir.... Â

Actually I'm still hoping someone tries this mod. My main question was whether this mod was good enough to buy BF1942, which so far hasn't caught my interest.

Shame on them for not including Finland! That's part II. After Sweden and Norway have beaten eachother senseless, Finland comes in and conquers both of them. That's probably the only way we'll get Euro in these stubborn countries

As self-employed it's very easy to do the division. It's like that scene from the "Postman" movie. You don't work, you don't eat. The later the month, the easier it is to motivate myself
