  1. ...have tested so far as far back as v5 (all the 5's)...and its still crashing in those...starting next with v4's now. Dunno why but I have this funny feeling im going to need to go back into the 3's before we find a truly stable version, but we'll see. Im really spending a good amount of time with every version trying to be thorough. By the way...please dont bother reporting version which you think are not crashing until you've played through at least 3 full missions cleanly to the end (just to rule out a lucky chance).

Hi Kibot! 1 - Im not using dev version 2 - once the freeze starts things are unplayable as it stays frozen ranging from 30 seconds to many minutes and then once it stops itll just freeze again seconds later...it freezes so long that you really need to alt-ctrl-del to get out and end task arma3. 3- this is the all important question, when. Dunno, so far the only thing I can tell for certain is that it occurs always within the first 5-30 minutes max...usually pretty early on and theres nothing that's ocurring at the time to find any common ground as to what's causing it yet. It's happend during supply drop and it's happened just standing around...its happened in enemy territory and its also happened at base HQ, and near FOB's. I do have quite a few things unlocked each time i try to play. 4 - i have only tried it on Stratis (but ive heard from others that it also happens on Altis in dev build, but i cannot confirm) 5 - I've had crashes in both SP & MP sessions and I've tried going back as far as your v.6 and every version since then (havent tried versions before 6 though). Might be a good idea to go back as far as we can trying to see if earlier versions all crashed or not...if we find an early version that wont crash then at least you'll know what changes were introduced when the crashing first began. *EDIT - Ok, found the links to all the older version...will attempt to find an older version with no crashing and report back...hopefully I'll have something to report by tomorrow (Monday).
  3. Lord, lets hope so...IMO 3rd party devs should never create for "beta dev builds" or "test" versions.

    speaking of that "twitch" thing still going on (when you shoot someone)....why is it still in the game at this point? When I first saw that on first day of alpha I always assumed it was a sort of "placeholder" of sorts...and never imagined it would be left in the game, as it looks incredibly ridiculous.

    ^THIS^...I've asked on Day 1 of alpha for them to lower the sway...I know many who have left Arma3 behind and refuse to play because of this (as well as the waaay over-done fatigue). Realistic or not makes no difference if people find these things annoying, which the majority do. A3 "looks" simply wonderful but truth be told now that A2 is actually more fun to play at this point.
  6. The OP was asking about vanilla Warfare that was expected to be included in the game and made by BIS themselves. You are referring to a 3rd party mission, which has NOT been publicly released by Benny as of yet (you can only join his server to try it out but it is not supposed to be freely available yet). I love Benny...have lots of respect for his coding ability and sticktuitive-ness but his version of Warfare quite honestly is waay too bloated and overly complicated (the Arma2 version). Teetimes mission is Player -vs- Player only from what I understand and is not what the OP has in mind since he was asking about a coop version to play against the AI.
  7. There will be no official Warfare mission by BIS for Arma3 at release. They have not responded about this so it is not clear if they plan on releasing that content at a later date (post release) or not.
  8. Is anyone running this mission on the official NON-Dev version? Keeps crashing Arma on me and also in .73 the request units menu no longer initializes.
  9. kilbot - using 7a (havent tried 73 yet) I've developed repeated crashing/freezing of the game within 15 minutes of starting the mission. If you've designed this using the DEV builds then you should state that in the original post on page 1....I didn't know that and have been using the mission in non-dev. Guess I will have to wait for your retail version after A3 goes retail next week.

  12. Ah ok, understood about defending the zones...good to know, however I still don't really understand what the advantage is in using your "save" at FOB's instead of just using ESC-SAVE in the game menu?
  13. I like this mission, especially the concept of it's dynamic nature. Nice job on this. If you're looking for anymore feedback I'd like to see some more functionality built into the FOB's such as: 1. Recruiting AI Engineers & Medics 2. Vehicle repair 3. Healing 4. Armory 5. Fast Travel between FOB's ...these are just some ideas PS - what is the point of using the FOB for "saving" the game? I mean when you exit the mission (escape, suspend) the game automatically gets saved anyway. There's really not enough incentive to bother with building an FOB since it has so little value currently. Oh, sorry if I missed this in the parameters but is there anyway to adjust the amount of enemy? Looking forward to seeing this in MP Coop! Thank you!

    I don't think the argument here should be about how realistic or not a feature is. The bottom line is about how well liked or not it is. Out of 16 players I've personally spoken to about A3 and the franchise in general I can tell you that 15 of them all agreed on these 3 points of interest: 1. Graphics/Lighting is very nice 2. Too much scope sway 3. Too much fatigue Some of these people I've spoken to are new to the game and never even played A2, and some are long time players like myself...and while realism was of course discussed it really had no bearing on whether or not they liked or enjoyed certain features of the game. The developers of A3 seem to be taking the core game mechanics (movement & shooting) of a franchise that has been around for more than 12 years and suddenly changing it now. This is apparently going to attract an entirely different type of player I suppose, albeit an even smaller market share than they've had in years passed I would guess. One thing I know from being around this game for so long is this: In all these years during OFP/A1/A2 I'm not aware of players asking for the shooting or movement mechanics to be slowed down in any way, shape or form. In fact if anything at all the requests or comments I've seen have been the exact opposite.

    wow ok, didn't realize this is what the new crowd likes. I mean OFP/Arma player remarks from the past have always included complaints about the slow/clunky movement, but this way it seems even slower now. I actually preferred the feel of movement in the original Alpha when it first came out. That was quicker, smoother, less frustrating getting around over larger distances, etc. The new slower movement coupled with the new A3 shooting mechanics (which I find arduous) are really turning me off. I suppose with this new Bohemia team in charge of things it's "out with the old, in with the new". I'm finding that they're taking the game in a direction that just doesn't seem to suit me. Don't get me wrong, I love sims...but this is getting too over-the-top for me personally speaking...to the point where I'm just not enjoying the game now. Crazy as it sounds I might actually end up going back to A1 for awhile, hehe.

    Absolutely do NOT like the fatigue system in the latest official beta as of 8/15/2013. There's TOO much fatigue too often and feels as though you might as well not even bother sprinting (unless you only need to run 5-10m). Does anyone happen to know if it is staying this way, or are there plans to decrease it by alot? It's just another nail in the coffin for me it seems.

    I'd really like to see the ability to respawn at friendly owned towns (been waiting/hoping for this since the A2 version). Also a new mobile spawn vehicle (other than the MHQ) would be a great addition!

    Arma 3 - Sneak Preview Livestream

    I was very let down not to see any official "Warfare" style missions included in the Arma3 Content Info. I always considered this mission type to be the classic crux of the franchise ever since it was originally released for Operation Flashpoint as "CTI". It's been available in every version of the game since then and was included out of the box in Arma2...why not Arma3? Nevermind, dont really need an explanation as for "why". All that really matters is that it's not comming.
